FORTHELOVEOFGODPLEASEFIREKATRINA Everytime I’ve gone in there, she’s on her phone, drinking starbucks, or chatting with everyone else but me. She will talk to my boyfriend… not me. And every time I’ve asked for cash back, she’ll close the register and then say«oh you wanted cash back!!» Also… please make sure your employees aren’t coming work high. She’s at least on some kind of amphetamine.

Located in the Moonlight Center, this Save Mart is conveniently located off El Camino in a big plaza. The store itself is a little bit older looking and weathered, but the staff is always friendly and store items are well stocked and fresh. Unless I’m hunting for more specialty items, I have always been able to find what I’m looking for here! Big plus — they also have Red Box!

Save Mart… Simply«Mart» would be a more accurate name. For a place that markets itself as pricing at a discount, they certainly don’t deliver. Walking in, my hopes were high a I noted the expansive selection. However, the joyous occasion of finally experiencing a Save Mart ended quite quickly. Pricing for items was actually above most supermarkets. Yes, I noticed some sales and closeout deals and no, there is nothing wrong the selection. But, if you promise sales and savings, you better deliver. Also, is this place owned by Lucky’s Supermarkets, because they carried the same brands of yogurts and ice creams. I also spied some common bakery items. Anyway, if you need groceries, this is a fine place to go. If you are banking on(haha, see what I did there) savings, you will be disappointed.

I frequent this store quite often. During my last few trips, I’ve noticed one cashier in particular who never greets me with a smile or an acknowledgment. His name is Terry and he is head clerk. Today, he continued his conversation with the customer ahead of me as he started to ring me up. I noticed one of the items from the discount aisle was coming up higher than marked. When I brought it to Terry’s attention, he sighed and looked at the price on the screen and said«it’s already 97 cents, how much more do you want it to be?» I couldn’t believe his response and decided to call him out on his rude remark & behavior. As the gentleman who was bagging my groceries went to inquire @ the price to the manager, I asked Terry why he appeared so irritated & he said he was checking the price for me. I told him that he looked mad & he said nothing. He adjusted the price after obtaining approval from his manager and told me to have a nice day with a flat affect. I thanked the gentleman who bagged my groceries, who was very polite. As I walked away, I felt like someone was shooting daggers my way & turned around to look back at Terry, sure enough, he was giving me a dirty look. It’s not my fault your cash registers aren’t reflecting the correct prices, so don’t take it out on me! If you’re not happy there, it’s time to move on! I’m tired of this guy’s poor attitude every time I see him. Now, if you want great customer service there, see Katrina Patient, she’s really helpful & very nice.

I grew up in Santa Clara, spent nearly the last 10 years away in west San Jose, and I think going to my Safeway over there spoiled me. Save Mart has many items that I am looking for but they were more expensive here(ex: Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal $ 4.59 vs $ 2.50 elsewhere). There is no Save Mart card either so there isn’t additional discounts that a customer can get. I miss that about Safeway. However, the layout is easy to understand and the store is well kept. The cashier I had was very friendly too. A note about their Market section here. I bought their premade chicken enchiladas for $ 5 and those were quite good! It even made two meals for me. Woohoo!

Like any other Savemart. There all the same old. Wish they would remodel them. Out of all the savemarts I shop at. I think the one on McKee is the best. As for the shopping one good deal that they have at Savemarts is the 5 for 25 on the meat.

This is the worst store I have been to recently. They have the worst customer service. The cashier doesn’t greet customers and just talk between themselves. They are racists too on Asian guys. I have seen them making fun of an Asian guy who was before me. They don’t look at the price of the product. they just scan through the prices even though prices are marked down. To management: beware as you can get sued by any customer and let me remind u that majority of your customers are either Asians or Spanish, so be nice to them.

Slipped and fell in a large puddle of water near the deli, although there was a sign it was way off to the side and not over the puddle of water I walked through and slipped on. Encountered three employees after this happened to notify them and not ONE. asked if I was ok or needed anything! Will not be going back or shopping there… They need a lesson in human kindness. I am sore from the fall, but ok.

Kind of small but can satisfy your daily need. I wouldnt give it a 4 star but it definitely deserves a 3.

Still 4 stars because they tend to have really good deals here. On my last visit I noticed that they’re missing key specialty items that I usually throw in my cart(coconut or almond based products). That’s not a bad thing, if one doesn’t normally shop for those items, but they’re staple items in my household.

It’s conveniently near my house, and the prices are pretty decent. I’m not a fan of the fact that during«rush hour» their lines are always pretty long, even though they tout a 3’s a crowd promise to open another check stand if they’re busy. It makes me not want to stop here after work. They almost never put the little hand cards back to the door to grab when you walk in, which is also a huge pet peeve. I don’t want to spend my time hunting down a hand basket and then start my grocery shopping. The staff is pretty friendly, but some of them are just ‘eh’, more focused on gossip and drama around the store to really take notice to you as a customer. Fawn is my favorite clerk, and we always try and hit her line to chat with her while we’re in there. She makes it a more friendly and«family» like atmosphere for us.

My fave supermarket! It’s where I go for everything. Decent size of a store but not so large you get lost and confused. Prices are good– they don’t have any sort of «safeway card» but things tend to be on sale. The staff there is all very friendly!

Olives on sale 99 cents ! ! Stock up… tip ! Some stores are just easy to shop at and this is one of them. This is right on El Camino so when I am doing my errand early Sunday morning I stop by and get the weekly items. I usually stock up when I see items like Olives or mayo(bestfoods) on sale. Even when walking around through the meat or produce department I always get a nice Hello how are you doing? from the employee’s ready to answer any questions. For me half the reason I will come back to a store is the Atmosphere and how I feel about the experience, second sales. Savemart has a nice and relaxed place to shop.

This Save Mart has really disappointed me every time I have visited. Most of the employees are young high school to college age kids who rather gossip and yell across to other employees instead of providing professional customer service. Employees will talk about inappropriate subjects, such as getting drunk, going to parties or about past customers to pass the time. Without making eye contact with you or acknowledging that you are even standing there in front of the cashier will scan your grocery items while having a conversation or flirting with the bagger and almost throw you the receipt when the transaction is complete. This place is super ghetto and I purposefully drive the extra distance to shop at Safeway on Homestead Ave. for a higher level of value, standard and service.

I love Savemart ! I know it is affiliated with Luckys but i would definitely rather drive a little farther to this location. Everything is super easy to find and they don’t have those horrible double isles. The checker was very sweet even though we were purchasing $ 250+ worth of groceries and she was about to be off in 3 minutes. She never treated us like we were a nuisance because she would have to stray longer. I will definitely be doing all my shopping here from now on!

I rarely come in to this grocery store as I have a few closer to me. But I was in the area and they had a great sale on rice and eggs yesterday. I came in and wanted to grab a weekly ad, but they were out. Luckily there was one in the basket I picked up. I cut my coupon and started shopping. The eggs were on the total opposite side of where I entered, hmm I wonder why?! When I got to the cash register there was two lines open. wheres Lucky’s 3’s a crowd when you need it?! After the wait I finally met my cashier Joe. He was very pleasant and complimented me. Very nice guy! Seems like he enjoys his job. Too bad I don’t come here more often. Nice employees.

I am really having a hard time finding a good grocery store in Santa Clara. Coming from Portland, the land of way too many grocery stores, I seriously miss the options. Is there a Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Wild Oats, or anything around here? Are there any tree huggers and food purists in this city? I like this store because it is reasonably priced, actually has a good selection of gluten free options, and the produce has been very decent considering its a totally not so glamorous grocery store. What truly annoys me about this store, and other grocery stores, is all the people sitting outside wanting me to sign this petition and that petition. Its like walking through the mall and being harassed by the dude who wants to feel your hands and the gal who wants to straighten your hair. Ugh.
