====== PROS ====== — Convenient location. — Fairly beautiful and safe neighbourhood. — Spacious floor plans. — Pet friendly. — Low deposit. — Visually pleasing and well-maintained. — Did not experience bug or termite issues. — Has many conveniences: pool, rec room, «gym,» sauna, and community laundry on site. — Laundry is cheaper and quicker than most places($ 1.50 wash $ 1.25 dry, both are within 30 to 45 minutes) — Maintenance is usually timely and covered under your rent unless you request it too many times within a short period of time. — Super nice and friendly manager who abides by all the agreed upon provisions stated in the lease. ====== CONS ====== — There are no built-in lights in the bedrooms, which dumbfounded me. — All the facilities stated above are very small and limited. — Building structure is paper thin: you can hear ANDFEEL people in the other apartments’ footsteps and doors closing. — The complex is also very old(built in the 50s). Remodelling feels like mostly just re-painting over walls and cabinets and replacing counters with more modern styles, so at first glance things LOOK very nice, but floors creek, cabinets don’t close fully, shower heads have to be replaced after move-in, lots of plumbing issues, water is super hard, etc. — On the note of being a really old building, it still has lead in its structure that you may be exposed to. If you know the negative effects of lead to brain activity and development I’d advise not to have this place as a permanent stay, especially with the price in correlation. It is nice that they have a warning sign for this though. — They’re obligated by law not to discriminate based on personal and/or criminal background, which is very nice seeing it being put into practice, but at the same time because of it there are some questionable characters renting around, so remember to hide yo kids and hide yo wives lol. — Quite expensive for what it’s worth. Not to mention none of the utilities is covered. It’s like micromanaging your own house already without all the privacy and benefits. Rent is also raised every year. — Only accepts money order, no card or personal check. Makes it inconvenient having to work around the rent due dates when banks and businesses are closed. ======================= WOULD I RECOMMENDIT? ======================= Only for the manager, Lidija Skerlep, because she is super nice. Or if you are working professionals with stable higher-than-median income(three times the rent) but just can’t afford a down payment for your own dream house yet. Definitely not for students or the average worker.
