Kaiser has a wide selection of departments, we all know that. But I didn’t know they have Optometry as well. Best of all, it’s included on my insurance which means I didn’t have to use stupid VSP and pay a ton of co-pays. I love«Ease of making appointments», as a KP member I was able to make the appointment a day before. I did have to wait a few minutes but that is expected usually. Dr. Jackie Chao was amazing. She was very efficient and very knowledgeable. I went in to get a second opinion, because the Optometrist I went to last month prescribed me what I think is overpowered glasses. Dr. Chao did her usual tests(astigmatism — hot air balloon test, eye pressure-where they shot air into your eye). She explained the science behind everything, how 100% correction may not be the most comfortable. I know I was getting dizzy, things felt surreal because it was so contrasted with my new glasses. So I ended up with new prescriptions due to her detail explanations and allowed me to weigh my opinion. She also noticed I had anomaly that the previous doctor didn’t even mention. Don’t worry I think I should be ok, I’ll be going back next week. I highly recommend her, because if there is something wrong, I want to know asap. She is very detailed, extensive, and will do multiple tests to confirm. That is a good doctor, treat it like science.
