To be completely honest, Dil Se was one of the best Indian food I’ve had since living in the bay area. Most Indian restaurants which I have been to always have an imbalance in their curry to meat ratio, and the meat usually tastes chewy or the curry is too bland, BUTNOTHERE! Such a good meat to curry ratio, and the curry tastes good without that nasty overfilling feeling! Most definitely worth a try!

On one hot blistering sunny afternoon, I decided to torture myself even further and order Indian Food! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, and surprisingly, it wasn’t overly spiced or overpowering at all! The chicken was super tender and the rice was cooked well. The only thing that was subpar was the sauce! It was super watery and bland. I’m used to more thicker, creamier, and richer sauces that evenly coat the meat. This sauce definitely could use more punch to it. This truck came to my work and I’m not sure they were well prepared for the turn out because there was only one guy who took orders and served food. It usually takes me 5 – 10 minutes of a wait at other food trucks but I had to wait like 20 minutes for food here. I can’t imagine scooping premade food into containers being very time consuming, but since there was only one staff member working, the ordering process was significantly slower.

It was absolutely amazing. I had every intention of cooking tonight but when I saw it I had to stop. So happy I did. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious. The gentleman that took my order was super nice too. I ordered the chicken tikka masala with a side of naan. The spices and flavors were just like traditional Indian dishes

4÷5÷16: I wasn’t planning on writing a review, but after eating my chicken I just really had to do an update of how crazy good their food is(especially for a truck)! I’ve been eating at food trucks at work for about 2 years now and I am starting to see value in different things now. I’ve had my mind blown by food trucks like Eat on Monday, but now it looks like many of my previous 5-star trucks are going the way of Chipotle(such as the all-mighty Eat on Monday), serving not-so-great-as-before food, being less innovative, charging more for less, and basically aging out like we all do someday… …Except this truck. Still yummy! 1. Chicken Tikka Masala $ 8.50: Mmmm… same tender and juicy chicken, same amazingly tasty sauce. Big spicy heat in that sauce, but not too far gone. Served piping hot so even after walking with it for a few minutes to my office it’s still warm. Still filling the box to the brim with food. Just as good as it always has been. And that’s great. 9⁄10. 2. Garlic Naan $ 2.50: I think they might have improved this one a bit. It’s similar – still the same non-flaky type. But it seems to me to be more flavorful. Maybe they used more butter. I dunno. But I liked it more than usual this time. Served warm and soft – can’t go wrong with that. 7⁄10 Consistently a good lunch. I appreciate that. 5⁄5 #truck #foodtruck #indianfastfood #indian

I just bought their matter paneer with rice and mango lassi. The portion size was very generous, food tasted good and they didn’t cheap out on the paneer or matter(peas) quantity. Having said that, I think it would have been better if the curry was a little less watery and the lassi was a little less sweet.

This food truck came to our local elementary school campus. While the truck and menu are same, all the pictures of dish I see on Unilocal are different. Pictures here show rectangular shaped plate with divider. But what we got is a very small round shaped bowl. I ordered Chicken Keema Matar for $ 9. Apart from the bowl is being small, the food served to us contained 75% rice. On the top of rice, the chicken keema matar with a few pieces of chicken. This dish for $ 9! Seriously? Many decades back the restaurant industry figured out that cutting the corners on food quantity does not take business anywhere, because it makes customer unhappy and stops them from coming back. The major costs of restaurant are actually labor and other establishment costs. I guess this food truck did not learn this basic formula yet. We weren’t expecting a huge Claim Jumper size meal, but reasonable size we get in any other Indian restaurant. In any case, the dish was good and that’s why I am giving 2 stars, instead of 1. My wife tasted the dish from me and she also liked it. She was thinking of buying the same dish. But who wants to pay $ 9 for dish that contains mostly rice! Instead, my wife bought sushi from the next food truck. Dil Se food truck lost $ 9 business right there.

I had a Dil Se Eatery truck at my work place Alcatel-Lucent. I tried chicken keema matar with rice and it was delicious. For 9:00 $ the portion size was very good. The nan was fresh. I would highly recommend this place

This was pretty good compared to other Indian food trucks I have tried. I would have given 5 stars but the service was soooooo slow. Very nice people though. I had the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and mango lassi. My total was $ 14.50 for all.

DIl Se is an Indian Food TruckEatery locale: OTG san jose evergreen(5⁄30) menu: naans, samosa, bowls, drinks eats: chicken tikka masala bowl(7.5) –tender chucks of chicken, spicy curry flavoring, fresh basmatic rice –portion small. –taste fresh, slightly better than average. take outs: –bowls came out quick,(premade?) –windows not labled«order» or «pick up». actually one window does everything, the other window does nothing.

Get the chicken tikka and the paneer, you will not regret it. The food is amazing, the rice is cooked perfectly. The mint sauce has a great kick to it and the staff is super nice. Can’t wait to eat from this truck again!

Delicious chicken tikka masala! I was leaving a doctor’s appointment when the scent of various spices from the food truck wafted through the parking lot. I followed my nose and was rewarded. The price was reasonable: $ 10.75 for the chicken and a side of naan. I only wish that their portions were bigger(more chicken, there’s lots of rice). That’s the only reason why I didn’t give them 5 stars. But it’s ok. I am on a diet. I will be following Dil Se throughout the Bay Area.

Taste ok, teeny tiny portions, overpriced for an Indian food truck.

Eating indian food is quite common in this area, but the idea of having the truck was so convenient , the food was a deal for the price, and it felt like what i had on my last trip to India, for those two things they earned my 5 stars,

Great, restaurant quality Indian food! I love that the food is fresh, flavorful in a very good packaging that easy to carry(and even reuse). As it turned out, the name of the gourmet truck translates as «from the heart», and every time I take my chicken tikka masala and mango lassi, I feel that the food is from the heart and lots of love in it. I try not to miss them every time they are nearby, and I use for it

Second Indian food truck ive been to at the exact same locale on Cisco’s campus. Combo meal of lamb and chicken with rice, samosas and garlic naan really hut the spot. Food is flavorful, not too spicy and comes out nice and hot. Samosas are particularly good and id return for just those alone if i ran into them again.

«I’ve never had meh Indian food… until now.» — roommate. That basically described our experience with Dil Se food truck. I ordered: [Combo — Chicken Tikka Masala and Shahi Paneer] The Chicken Tikka Masala and Shahi Paneer were about the consistency of deep fried sour cream. The chicken was fine but the sauces were really soup-like/runny. It was a little disappointing. Sauce should have been much more thick. This came with a side of rice. They give you enough rice to submerge your phone… The portion is way too large for the amount of food they give you. [Garlic Naan] The garlic naan is a single piece of naan cut up into 4 pieces. Was so hot that I felt like I was burning my fingertips on it just trying to use it as a utensil. I could taste garlic powder very strongly. My roommate ordered the [Chicken Tikka Masala] and had the same feedback. For my combo order(11 $) and naan(2.50), I spent $ 13.50. I would eat here again in the event that I really needed something to eat and this was the closest thing, though I may still consider options.

Yay new food truck! I don’t mean for this area, I mean in general — this place is brand new, and now I get the reap the sweet first review rewards. I was glad to see a truck outside, and a new one, so instantly bee lined to it. Later my Indian coworkers would inform me that Dil Se translates to «from the heart». While the menu was limited, I instantly went on Unilocal to see what people recommend, only to discover how new this truck was. Fortunately for those of us who have trouble deciding, there is a combo option of two: so between the vegetable curry, chicken curry, and chicken tikka, I went with the two chicken dishes. Also, as a sucker for garlic naan, had to get an order of that as well, and because I was going to town they gave me the mango lassi on the house. Between the curry and tikka, I preferred the tikka. Thick, flavorful sauce. The curry was also good, but I preferred the tikka. Rice was excellent, and I did get a great container. Food was 4 stars. At $ 13, a bit pricey, though I was completely full. Something like the combo with a piece of naan at $ 10 might be a better deal, but up to them to decide. Looking forward to seeing this truck again. Update: the Truck did come back again. They had goat and chicken tikka. The chicken was cooked perfectly tender, much better than the first time. But the goat stole the show. I’m usually a bit cautious when it comes to goat — little bones and all. But the goat was likewise tender, flavorful, and with the naan had lunch and dinner in a convenient togo box. And I got more than 5 pieces of lamb.
