Apparently this place has been closed for about a year. My brother and I got up early in hopes of watching the door roll up. It never happened. After waiting for about an hour thinking maybe they changed the hours we ran into a Barefoot employee going into the corporate office across the parking lot who delivered the bad news to us. We went to Chromatic down the street and got some badass coffee.

Great people and even better coffee offerings! From places such as El Salvador, Peru, Guatemala, Ethiopia and Sumatra, with each bean having its own style of roast and form, either as an espresso, pour-over, or drip! And they follow SCAA and Roaster Guild coffee protocols for grading coffee so you are always assured a great cup every time!!! Daniel and Mark over at the Barefoot Coffee Roastery are awesome in providing answers to any questions one may have and help define what Barefoot Coffee is all about! James and Garrett are awesome Barista’s and have great coffee knowledge and fun to interact with and talk to. Can make just about any kind of coffee drink you are in need of, both iced and hot! They make you feel welcomed and included/introduced to the exciting and growing world of craft/specialty/single-origin coffees!

These guys are serious about espresso and coffee! One of the best shops in the country. Amazing people and well worth the drive. The Boss espresso blend pulls an amazing ristretto shot. This place is tops.

As much as I love Barefoot coffee I can’t give the roll up bar five stars. The only thing holding me back from that coveted fifth star is the location. It’s just so weird. In a garage by SJC airport with a lot of industrial area around. In a way it’s kind of funky-cool but it’s not pretty to hang out in as some coffee shops. That said, everything else is INCREDIBLE! The staff is ultra friendly and knowledgable, they have some incredible skill when it comes to crafting a top-notch coffee, and the coffee quality itself is on par(if not better than) Sightglass, Four Barrel, and Ritual.

Oh. My. GOD. I just had a cup of coffee that was so good it almost made me cry. I used to never believed that plain black coffee could taste sweet, fruity, and not bitter at all. Today I tried the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Kochere beans and I could actually taste the notes of honeydew and the smell of caramel sugar! James the barista was super nice and friendly. Last time I took his latte art class and he still remembered me when I walked in this time. He even provided some pour over tips as I’m a total pour over noob here. This place will be my to go place for beans. Barefoot usually roast their beans every Thursday so the beans are guarantee to be fresh. They have online ordering too, but since I only buy 8 oz each time I might as well just pay the visit. Plus if you buy beans over here you get a free cup of pour over or espresso: D

Cool, low key version of a coffee shop. The spot is in an industrial area, and the front door(constantly open) is essentially an open garage door. Four stools at the bar, two tall tables with stools, and a bench make up all of the seating. The coffee is great and the vibe is mellow, just be prepared to chill for a bit while you wait for your drink: during my visit there was only one barista behind the bar for about 10 customers who all arrived within minutes of each other. Fine with me… I rode my bike up and planned on hanging out, but this isn’t the place for a quick grab and go. Overall the roll up bar is a small, unique place to relax and have great coffee on a Friday or Saturday morning.

This location had their soft launch this labor day weekend. Hours are limited(Saturday from 9am until 2pm) until further notice. Updates are on their website and twitter. To get to this location is a bit tricky; if you’re entering from the De La Cruz side its the driveway right next to the 76 gas station. If you’re driving on Martin Ave, then its the first right turn after you pass the light at the De La Cruz /Martin intersection. I’ve uploaded a pic of their menu. Tried one of their pour over while Lindsay ordered an ice latte. Both were good and the baristas were super friendly. Coming back for more! This neck of the woods badly needed a good coffee place. Hope hours expand.
