With the homemade tortilla. So Good! I tried three different tacos — Al Pastor, Lengua and Tripe. All of them were excellent. Great flavor, great texture and very clean tasting(for the tripe and lengua). I wish the truck is right next to my office, so I can have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

If that tortilla wasn’t handmade, this would prolly be 4 stars. First things first, the given address is incorrect. Use this one from 4PM-9ish? 163 E Walnut St Santa Ana, CA92701 The one that Unilocal gives you will lead you to some random freeway. and if you go around the neighborhoods here it’s pretty sketchy looking. thank goodness it was only 3:45pm. Look for a green truck! There is absolutely no English on the truck, except for the sign on the window that says«to help keep costs low don’t take excessive sauce». so yeah — keep costs low and don’t take more than you can handle! Speaking of sauce, it was pretty spicy. There were 3 types, some avocado green one that was prolly medium. an orange one that was pretty damn spicy, like I had to keep breathing in to calm the fire inside, and the red one I didn’t wanna touch cause I don’t like ring of fire. I ended up getting two tacos($ 4).I asked for it in horribly broken Spanish, «hi, can I get one al pastor taco de hecho de mano.crujienta. and one lengua taco de heco de mano por favor?»(Al pastor + tongue ftw!) Honestly, that lady giving service is kinda intimidating and didn’t seem nice at all, but she repeated what I wanted and told me that it was $ 4. When I got my order, I was pleasantly surprised that they not give you your food on a styrofoam plate, but they package it pretty nicely on a styrofoam rectangular foodtogo plate.yeah.those things. Unfortunately, I guess the crujienta(crispy) part was lost in translation but it’s okay — food was BOMB! Al Pastor taco — superrrrr yummy. It wasn’t that sweet compared to say. Taqueria 2 Guys(RIP :’() but I liked it. Eating this with all the sauces and the carrots resulted in a happy Angela. Lengua taco — I’m a sucker for this shit. the lengua was in pretty big chunks… tender. it was really good eaten with the marinated onions that are in front of the truck. I put some of the green avocado sauce and the orange one and yeah. Had a good time with this one. The meats are one thing, but what brought this over the top were the tortillas. I was suprised that it was only one tortilla, instead of the normal 2, and they’re flour right? lol someone enlighten me. but MANN I CANNOT go back to the normal ones now. I feel so spoiled bu these handmade tortillas are DELICIOUS. One was enough to hold the weight of the ingredients and didn’t rip from excessive sauce or anything. Soft, chewy, oh god. I want to try a quesadilla and other various things next! Food came out pretty fast, relatively cheap, cash only, filling, yummy. why NOT go?!

Hidden gem food truck in Santa Ana. The go to item here is the Al Pastor. Make sure you get it done crispy and order only the HANDMADE tortillas. The tortillas were so good and the meat portion was on point. 2 dollars a taco was worth it. Everything is made fresh and ready to order. This is a must go to place in the area. Next time I come back I’ll get the Vulcan. Recommendation: Al pastor tacos. make sure the tortillas are the handmade ones.

I go here at least once a week… decent prices, handmade tortillas and delicious tacos. Pastor is pretty flavorful, carnitas is amazing… get the gringa or #14…you get a plate of your choice of meat(it’s listed with al Pastor but you can ask for a different meat) with melted cheese, onions, cilantro and 3 fresh handmade tortillas so you can make your own tacos! Your welcome.

After reading so many positive reviews, I must try their tacos. I could not wait to get there for lunch. I got some pastor, lengua, carnitas, and tripas tacos, and asked for hand made tortillas, extra crispy pastor, grilled onions and the orange colored salsa. What a BIG disappointment. The salsa is spicy hot but has no taste. The hand made tortillas tasted bland. Forget about all of the meats. Only the pastor was better than the rest, but still lacking in flavor harmony. There was no wow as I ate it. After a few bites, I threw them all away. So far only two places that wowed my taste buds for pastor tacos. Tacos el Gordo in San Diego, and Killarney in Huntington Beach in the OC. Yes, an Irish Pub makes this knock out tacos. Every Tuesday it is only a buck each. And their salsa, the light orange colored one, is yummy. Took me a long to have the courage to try Killarney’s tacos(what would an Irish Pub knew anything about tacos, what would they knew anything about good food period). I kept seeing the long line, so I decided to go for. I got back in line to get more. Upon first bite, I was like«Wow!»

I first want to Thank Unilocaler Cynthia K for her detailed account on this awesome taco truck. The workers spoke limited English and with my elementary Spanish speaking skills communication would have been über problematic. So thank you Cynthia! You win the Gold Star Award :) As Cynthia stated before, this truck is stationed from 4pm to 9:30 this address… 163 E Walnut St Santa Ana, CA92701 When I arrive I noticed that all the patrons were Mexican so I had high hopes for an authentic experience. I took the wise Unilocal advice and ordered 4 Al Pastor(Pork) Tacos on a tortilla hecha a mano(Hand-made toritilla) crujiente(crispy), though the worker kept looking at me with that raised eyebrown look. But no worries! I still got the tacos and they were delicious. And let me tell you they were so awesome that we went back to order 6 more
As we anxiously anticipated our next set of tacos, we decided to converse with some locals. Appartently this truck is all the rage as this particular Latin couple traveled all the way from Anaheim to relish the delightful treats. His wife/girlfriend? highly recommended the cuban torta as it was filled with all types of meat(al pastor, carne asada, etc.) and continually emphasized how large and delicious it was. Next time for sure!

Tears of pleasure and joy over this food! A food truck that makes home made tortillas? Bliss! The menus is all in spanish, so if you don’t speak spanish bring someone who does. The people who work here also seemed to speak very limited english so my limited spanish was a big help. The food is also diverse. The flavors and types of meats offered were larger and more authentic then any restaurant I have been to. I ended up getting the al pastor tacos(something everyone seemed to rave about). Simple yet amazing. The al pastor was perfect and the home made tortillas brought it home. The salsas here are also killer. The flavors they add are amazing and they pack a mean spice to them. Make sure though you get the right address, the address listed on Unilocal wasn’t right.

everyone else is right — great al pastor, great handmade tortillas. mulita de pastor was the best thing i had. carne asada was surprisingly good too, suadero also good, cecina was ok. handmade tortillas are a must. the orange salsa as well as the whitish/yellowish salsa were the best along with some type of jalapeño chunky salsa.

I have to say that I haven’t been to this truck since 2008. The reason why is because I got really sick in Vegas and then when I came back I was craving the al Pastor tacos so I went, but my tummy was still sick! So I ended up being disgusted with the taco smell. But ‘I’m back! So I bought a gordita de chicharron prensado. Wowwww! It is so good! It has chicharron, fresh grated white mexican cheese, lettuce, tomato. Wow! Delicious. It’s pretty big for $ 3.50. I think it’s number 6. I am going back to try the al pastor tacos. I forgot how they taste. Make sure you ask for handmade tortillas. They are just $ 0.50 more, but well worth it! Handmade! Dam! :) Once I try the al pastor, I’ll let you know. See my picture I took of my Gordita de Chicharron Prensado! It was to go. Yummy!!! O and I think prensando means pressed. Everything looks good and neat. :)

BESTTRUCKEVER!!! Do not judge this truck by its look… This is the first taco truck I have encountered that makes hand made tortillas and has an array of famous mexico city famous food plates: *Pambasos *Huaraches *Alambres *Mulitas and many more. If you go there at night you will be waiting for a long time but it is very well worth it. Also, their salsas are great. I personally would recommend the Alambres which is carne asada, vegetables all melted with cheese and you get three giant hand made tortillas to go along with.

Quest for al pastor led us to Ruben’s Tacos y Mulitas. They had a spit with the meat charring — it looked good. The flavor was OK but didn’t take me back to where the exotic flavors of the eastern Mediterranean met spicy pork in Mexico. A wonderful surprise was the tasty birria tacos — chunks of meat with a little stewy juice. Request the handmade tortillas — nice.

Haven’t had the pleasure of too many taco trucks out in Orange County, but this one definitely stands head and shoulders above whatever I’ve had before. Handmade tortillas are definitely the vehicle of choice for your taco-grubbing needs. And if I read the menu correctly, it said«tortillas hecho a mano» for burritos as well, which would mean handmade flour tortillas!(what what?) I had two tacos each of suadero and chorizo. Neither meat was underseasoned or dry, and the amount on each taco was more than plentiful. Curtido offerings are nicely spiced and delicious, and your salsa choices are great as well. Excellent, excellent curbside offerings of Mexican goodness. Don’t wait on this.

The tacos here are perfect, moist, tender, and flavorful meat. The handmade tortilla’s are so fresh they’re too hot to hold when you first get them. There is a large selction of green and red sauces to add on top in the self-serve bin.

By far, the BEST taco truck I’ve hit up in teh OC, period. A lovely coworker of mine introduced me to Tacos y Mulitas Ruben a few years ago, & once or twice a month several coworkers & I hit up the truck for tacos, mulitas & Mexican Coke. Everything is good there from the Asada to the Buche, but what brings me & other coworkers back is the Al Pastor & Birria. As of lot of you know, great Al Pastor tacos are hard to come by here in SoCal, but Ruben’s knows how to make it just right, just writing this makes me want tacos, hehe. If Al Pastor is hard to come by, not too many trucks offer Birria & the ones that do, the birria is not All That either, but Ruben’s just like with the al pastor, they make the Birria just right as well, not drenching with the caldo(Goat soup) but not dry either, soo no soggy taco/burrito/torta. Ruben’s also offers great sopes, gorditas, huaraches, pinchangas, sincronizadas, quesadillas & Pancita. btw, when you order your tacos, Please ask for Tortillas hechas a mano por favor. Fresh hand made tortillas make a Great Taco even better too. =-p Also, it’s called Tacos y Mulitas Ruben .

mmMMM~ tacos de cabeza and a mexican coke($ 3.75 total) after a couple hours of biking really hit the spot. there’s quite a bit of diseased-looking pigeons hanging out and flies around the condiments so i backed off. nice people working here, but i am not really sure why they ask«here or to go?» there is nowhere to sit except on an overturned produce crate, which a little girl is already sitting on. :P found it on walnut and main.
