Best Thai food place around the area hands down. I love the food and the management of the place, the lady that served us is so sweet. I always joked around with her that I would come and work for her and she only has to pay me in food. The tofu here is to die for and the the seasoning of the food is right on point. I came quite frequently in the past, before the owner fell ill, I haven’t been back since then because every time we were in the area and want Thai food, it is always after 3pm and they only open until then on normal days. It is pretty sad that they’re no longer here, I wonder is it because business isn’t good or because they no longer have the strength to run the store. Whatever the reason might be, this place had left such a good impression in me and my friends and we’ll always remember about this place and all the good times that we’ve had here.

3.5 stars. I shared several entrée. Some were better than others. The pad se ew was nice and moist but did not have a lot of flavor. I liked the tom yum which was a more clear tomato base with lots of vegetables. I am used to the more coconut milk flavor type. The pad thai was just average. It did not have a lot of flavor with the only protein being shrimp and the amount of shrimp was a bit skimpy. The fried tofu was the star of the show and was sublime. It was crispy on the outside and moist and soft on the inside. I loved it. The spinach was just okay with not much flavor. The curry with chicken had some nice heat to it but again it lacked flavor and was a little watery. More like a curry soup. The green papaya salad was very good, fresh and had a lot of flavor. It had a nice little kick of heat. The fried rice lacked much flavor and was not great. For dessert, we shared the sticky rice with mango. The sticky rice also did not have much flavor. Good sticky rice is a little sweet with subtle coconut flavor. This sticky rice did not have either of the foregoing. The fresh mango was good though. I had the Thai iced tea and really enjoyed that.

I’m giving this place a 3 star based on the foods not service. If it was for service it would be a 3 ½ to 4 star. However the food just wasn’t that great. Most of the dishes we ordered were either too salty or sweet(maybe we came at the wrong day?) We ordered: Tod Mun aka fish cake: This was ok but not worth the drive to get it when I could just get it closer to my area. Papaya salad: Too damn salty. We didn’t even make a dent in this dish. Mine would be way better than this Pad Thai: I know this dish supposed to be sweet but DAMN that’s way too much sugar Pad Kee Mow aka Drunkin Noodle: This dish was surprisingly good. It wasn’t oily like other pad kee now I had Spicy Tom Yum Goong: too watery not enough flavor to make it a true Tom yum soup Pad See Ew: This dish was good but it has too much soy sauce taste to it Fried Tofu: It was good but I would not be coming back for more Siam Fried Rice: Nothing special about this dish except that it was salty Thai Ice Coffee: Where’s the Thai coffee??? All I taste was just regular coffee with condense milk Will I be coming back to this place…

I’m giving this place a two star review although I wanted to give it three stars because of the service. If I could’ve given a 2 ½ star then I would add the ½ star because this place deserves more than two starts but not quite three. The lady towards the end of our dining who serviced us was the chef — I believe? She was very helpful. She helped cleared our table and boxed our food. We came here to try the yummy dishes we saw on Unilocal and was hoping to found a new restaurant we liked. There were four of us and we ordered way more than four people can handle. Here’s the list of our orders and what I liked and didn’t like about them. 4 thai ice coffee — too much cream in it and almost seemed a little watered down tod mun — good but a little salty tofu — actually one of the better dishes and true to other Unilocalers review papaya salad — great presentation even had the right taste until it didn’t because it was too salty pad kee mao — this was actually okay, but not the best pad kee mao I’ve had either pad thai — the best dish out of this order — was just right and pretty tasty pad see ew — a little bit too much see ew on this to make me say eeeew tom yum goong — just didn’t have much of the tom yum flavor that most Thai joints have. siam fried rice — I’ve experienced better siam fried rice — it had potential for sure…

We ordered pad thai, fried tofu, panang curry and thai tea, one with cream and one without(lime juice instead). Here is the verdict… pad thai– I have never been so disappointed with pad thai. There was something(or maybe a few somethings) missing for sure… like the tamarind paste maybe? And sweetness? It was also dry and just tasted like noodles and soy sauce. Also, I asked for spicy and there was none to be found. So, so sad. I couldn’t eat more than a couple bites… fried tofu– I ordered these to go. They were good(though isn’t everything that’s fried?) panang curry– This was unfortunately mostly chicken with hardly any of the curry sauce. Very spicy and OK flavor. Thai Tea– with cream was very good. But without cream and lime juice instead, seemed watered down/not sweet enough maybe? Altogether, meh…

Dear Siam taste of Asia, I’ve been impatiently waiting for her to come back to OC and reopen her restaurant just so I can eat her curry and papaya salad. :( selfish much? Yes, because she is having family issues BUT she cooks SOGOOD. :((In her absent, I Unilocaled another Thai place *whom I will not name* but they were NOT on her level. That is all. I regretted venturing out. :( Her green curry Is SOFREAKENDELISH. I alwayssss ask for more soup so I can drown my rice in it. Her papaya salad is absolutely fresh and tasty. Super hot home grown peppers so watch out if you cannot eat spicy. Last but not least, the fried tofu. So good. So yum. So crispy. So soft. Please come back soon so you can take my money!!! Love, a hungry customer.

Siam taste of Asia has probably the best thai food I’ve had in socal. Even though the area is sketch, that’s where the hidden gems are found! Definitely try the fried tofu and the pad kee mao. They are ON point, and I’m in love with the pad Thai too. Please check this out and don’t be turned off by the area

My boyfriend claimed that SIam had the best fried tofu. and boy was he right. I’ve had my fair share of fried tofu at Japanese izakayas but this is good at the next level! It has great flavor… the tofu on the inside is soft and the outside is so damn crispy. This is a must order item! I’m not so adventurous when it comes to Thai food so I just stuck with what I know. Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. I thought that both dishes were good, wasn’t as amazed as I was with the fried tofu. My only complaint is that I felt that the portions were a little smaller when compared to other restaurants. It seemed as if there was only one lady waiting tables so the service got slower as more groups arrived.

Minimum 20 dollar for credit card !!! This is the best fried tofu I have ever had!!! Crispy and flaky on the outside but extra soft on the inside! Pad see ew was only a little oily unlike at Chinese restaurants when it can get SUPER oily. Green coconut curry was VERY spicy !!! The red one was less spicy. Sea bass texture reminds me of the fried fish in a Rubio’s taco but it tasted good. I enjoyed the pad thai also. Anddd I heard the egg rolls were amazing but I did not have any. Each entrée was about 10 bucks but nothing came with rice! Charging for rice just b/c it’s in a cool plastic goblet thingy is not cool … Also the sole waitress kept disappearing into the kitchen. Quite delicious but quite expensive!

Their crab fried rice is SO good. It’s different than the ones I’ve tried at other Thai restaurants(such as Banana Bay). I would say it’s my go-to dish and this is by far the best one I’ve had! The flavor combination was simply amazing. I would definitely order this again! The pad see ew was great as well. We got it with beef and the meat was cooked perfectly! Usually I avoid getting beef in stir fry dishes since it’s easy to overcook them but my bf wanted it and good thing it turned out well! It also wasn’t too oily like how it usually is at other places. The owner is a very nice lady. I happened to leave my iPhone fisheye lens on the table and she ran out to give it back to us! I’m definitely coming back here again to try the other dishes!

This might just be my new favorite Thai place! My friends recommended this spot over other popular spots. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s quite warm and welcoming on the inside. You will be greeted by an adorable older lady. We ordered the popular fried tofu, fish filet with tamarind sauce, pad see ew with chicken, papaya salad, and seafood tom yum soup. I recommend all those dishes because they were all so delicious! The sauce for each dish makes you want to dip everything into it, and we definitely did. From what I was told, there’s really only 2 people running the entire restaurant in which 1 lady is the cook. They do a heck of a job making those dishes quickly, but consistently tasty. I could see that all their customers frequent the place and also enjoy each of the dishes very much. I can’t wait to come back for more!

Summary: Small Thai restaurant, mediocre taste, over priced, tiny portion. Likes: Empty during lunch, so no waiting, and friendly service. Taste is ok, but a bit sweet, and less authentic than other Thai places. Dislikes: They charge $ 1.50 rice and $ 0.50 water, so $ 2 per person. $ 7-$ 9 entrées are $ 2 overpriced, and portion size is 1⁄3 smaller than other places. Recommend: Please try Thai Gulf for cheaper price or Thai Café for better taste.

Ordered panag, fried tofu, fish, and basil chicken with some coworkers. All the food tasted pretty good. Portion sizes were really small, and they charged $ 6 for steamed rice for the 4 of us. They also charged $ 2 for tap water. LOL, seriously? This is why they get a 1 star rating.

3.75 stars The item selections may be small, but the ones that I did try were very good. The fried tofu is a must. The soft pillowy tofu is lightly battered with a coating of garlic, which is very subtle, and assisted with a sweet dipping sauce. I could have eaten the whole plate but was morally obligated to share with my guest. I ordered the chicken basil and was very pleased with my selection. The ground chicken and basil was full of flavor, the only thing that was missing was the heat. In fact, most of the items lacked the heat that I normally expect in Thai food, but there were spice condiments available. We also had two curry dishes and pad siew(flat noodle) to round off the meal. My only disappointment was they charge for rice. The place is small but luckily there was only one other party so service was good as expected. If you drive by this place and blink you may not even know it exist.

I’ve gone to Siam countless times now and I’m so happy this place exists. Boos: 1) Rice is not free, you have to pay for a bowl of rice. It’s a little annoying since for certain dishes that you just gotta eat with rice; eating curry with no rice? Impossible! 2) You can’t get tap water. Gotta pay for bottled or some other drink. 3) The curry seems to be on the more soupy side(which could be a pro if you like that but we like it more thick) Yays: 1) Fried tofu dipped in fish sauce is as heavenly as everyone says 2) Sea bass with tamarind sauce is crispy and tasty 3) Pad see ew and pad thai(best with shrimp imo) are both delicious staples 4) There is a little condiment rack for each table with spices — I don’t find it a legit Thai experience without it! 5) Thai tea tastes yummy and you get to stir it up yourself(I love seeing it turn into a creamy orange color) 6) The woman who I assume is the owner takes your order and also cooks your food to order so although service is slow, the food is fresh and piping hot. She is always really sweet and friendly. 7) It’s pretty spacious inside(I’ve never seen it packed) with nice Thai décor. Feels a bit lonely when there are no other customers. I love my visits to Siam Taste of Asia! It’s in an odd part of town and never seems to get busy, but I hope this place continues to get more business! Go visit them now!

What everyone says is true. The fried tofu is amazing. I’m not gonna say you have to order it when you come here, but yeah, actually, you do have to. Crispy, sweet, soft on the inside and the portion is a pretty good size. You don’t even need to dip it in the sweet sauce. We purposely didn’t eat the last 3 just so we could take it home and relive the experience… :3 My gentleman and I ordered pad see ew(9 $), pineapple fried rice(10 $) and the tofu(7 $), all of which was great. The fried rice surprised me… most places overpower the dish by using WAY too much fish sauce, but it was spot on. The quality of the ingredients and how perfectly the shrimp and chicken were cooked surpass a lot of Thai places. The only thing that could have been better for this dish was to not use canned pineapple, but honestly, who takes the time to carve a pineapple? Yeah, no one. But that’d be the ONLY way this dish could have been better. The pad see ew wasn’t charred like how I usually like it, but it wasn’t missing any of that subtle char flavor. It was wet, not too sweet, and had plenty of Chinese broccoli. I always prefer Chinese broccoli rather than broccoli in pad see ew, making me like Siam’s version of this dish even more. The interior is very small, which should make service a breeze. But what makes it a problem is the long hallway to the kitchen. The older woman who we had the pleasure of meeting today stayed out of sight a lot of the time, and came by every so often. Usually, I would be an ass on Unilocal about things like that, but she had so much charm and addressed it directly. And due to her humor and ease, all was forgiven. She cast a spell on me. And so did the food. Will definitely be coming here again. It might even be my new go-to Thai restaurant. Minimum 20 $ for credit cards!

It was late Monday night and my mom and I were craving Asian. Given present location we were near many solid Vietnamese restaurant, but unfortunately many of them were either approaching closing time(8pm) or were not in operation on Mondays. Sadness :(Luckily Unilocal indicated a 4 star authentic Thai restaurant only a few streets down and still open for business– until 8:30pm, which was plenty of time to chow down. Woohoo! Score! I love Thai food too, so we picked up our belongings and headed to this local hidden gem. I will admit that the area is a bit hood and considering the timing of my visit I wouldn’t recommend lingering in this area after hours. It’s not nearly as well lit as I would have liked. But onward to the food… After carefully looking through he menu we decided to order a beef basil($ 8.95) a yellow curry with chicken($ 7.95) and a half pot of rice to share($ 3). Should be a real treat! When the entrees were brought out we absolutely loved the beef basil. It had just the perfect amount of spice and was extremely flavorful. The curry on the other-hand was much more subtle. It had a hint of sweetness and the chicken was moist and tender. Both dishes had a very home-cooked feel to it and we thoroughly enjoyed them both. So why the 3 star rating? Well… given the price I expected more food. The price is fair compared to other Thai restaurants, but the amount of food given was substantially less than their competitors. It looked more like a petite offering and that should never be the case at a mom and pop shop. I had to carefully portion my food to fill up on rice and don’t get me wrong I love carbs, but I don’t want to spend most of my meal figuring out how to get full. I like tasty food and given it’s comfort food origins I was craving for more. Sorry!

Wow, an overly long overdue review on this place. Came here with my student to try some hole-in-a-wall Thai food. The location of this place is interesting… in the middle of nowhere… 1. Fried Tofu — sweet, savory and crunchy, what’s better than that. This is a must order dish if you’re here b.c. I haven’t seen it at any other Thai places. Be careful when you bit into it… it’s HOT @_@ 2. Tom Yum Soup — very flavorful, very spicy, very sour, and loaded with ingredients. 3. Pad Thai — not what I was expecting… their own spin of the pad thai… more like soy sauce noodles than pad thai
