Rubber-Cal

This company is a freaking joke! I wish I could give them a negative star if I could!
I placed an order of rubber mats for outdoor playground and I confirmed with these idiots over the phone to make sure they were in stock. Of course they told me yes so I paid $ 2800 rubber mats which was supposed to shipped out within 24 hours. 2 days passed by and no shipping confirmation was received. So I called this morning and was told it has not been shipped out yet and they did not have an answer why it was not. They assured me it will get shipped out and I will get a call from a shipping company. Now I got a call from an employee named Max and told me the pins for the mats (come with mats) are out of stock and will not be available until end of May! WTF!!! The only reason I chose this company was because they were local and items were available right away. They wasted the whole week… I would’ve ordered from someone else and they could be on its way! They might know how to make rubbery stuffs from used tires but DO NOT KNOW how to run a business! I will be writing bad reviews anywhere/​everywhere that I could about this company!!! They do not know how to handle large orders obviously! How could you not know if items are in stock or not??? really? They better refund my $ 2800 right away or they will be hearing from me, an angry, pissed off, and unhappy customer!!! STAY AWAY! They do not know what they are doing!

I am a former employee here at Rubber-​Cal. Left the company to pursue my own business career and now a proud co-​owner of Toque, LLC. My former boss, Beau, was very supportive and I will always be grateful. Great company, great products, and I not saying this just cause I worked here before. One of my positions was «Quality Control» and we made sure all products were tip-​top shape. Rubber Cal values its customers and products and they always competitive on pricing.

et. al.) is a reseller of rubber/​synthetic sheeting, ducting and flooring materials. There aren’t many warehouses selling these products, or they aren’t very easy to find. There are good things about Rubber-​Cal, but they screwed up my first order and have some really weird policies.
Minus two for screwing up my first order! I ordered 11 feet of thin-​cut pebbled rubber sheeting. I asked very clearly before taking delivery, «Do you cut precisely, and is there any slack?» Answer: «Oh, yeah, we leave an inch or two, and we cut using a straight edge.» (See photo.) This was sales floor BS. In reality, they measure exact lengths and cut material crooked. The next day there was no choice: I drove 36 miles back to buy two extra feet. They wouldn’t cut it for me in advance without payment, so I had to wait. Ever so kindly they also agreed to sell me two feet instead of the required five foot minimum. Wow. What an utter waste of time, energy, gas, material, money and effort!
Minusone more for weird and intrusive customer information collection: They require your driver’s license and vehicle license plate numbers before releasing product. After you pay (after!), you are handed a form requiring this personal information. I am informed there previously was a dispute with another customer regarding will call, and that precipitated this Dilbert policy. Anyway, this — along with invoice contact information — basically gives anyone the keys to your life. Or, anyone digging through their trash. Or, anyone hacking their computers. Or, …
Plus one for friendly and genuinely attentive customer service people in the showroom. They have a reasonable selection of items. Prices for cut-​to-​order lengths aren’t particularly stellar, but not the worst, either, that I can tell. There isn’t any process for special ordering additional or custom materials not in the catalog. They definitely have gym flooring covered.
I might go back depending on my needs.
