Acai bowl. For some reason, it’s all about the acai. I’m not sure when this acai bowl trend originated, but it’s currently raging. Breakdown: acai-frozen-smoothie-sweet-concoction topped with fruit(usually blueberries, bananas, and strawberries) and granola. Pulp fusion’s acai bowl was huge. I think it was meant for two people, and I struggled to finish it. I couldn’t even get to the hemp granola at the bottom until I worked my way through so much acai purée. Good stuff.

We had this truck cater one of our company events and I have to say i was disappointed. Having sample the SUPER delicious and ever growing popular acai bowl in Santa Barbara on my recent trip I was exciting to see a mobile truck serving up these super healthy bowls! Yes they aren’t cheap at $ 6/bowl. Yes they do use the Costco Sambazon brand Acai berries. Yes they only have 4 flavor of bowls to choose from. Yes the ingredients are super fresh and the service and staff are very friendly. BUT my gripe is the product itself is definitely NOT the best Acai bowl i’ve ever sampled in my travels. The Acai smoothie blend itself is pretty bland so relies heavily on the fruit and honey topping to give the proper sweetness profile the bowl is suppose to have. I DO love the granola bottom that gives that crunchy and semi savory flavor with each scoop. However, overall i probably would not spend the $ 6 for this bowl if i was paying normally. The latte that i also ordered on the other hand was very very disappointing as it was simply very watery and straight up nasty tasting. Yes i got it with soy, but where was the coffee flavor? It tasted literally like watered down coffee beans with a splash of soy. If it was a quality coffee bean i definitely couldn’t tell. Maybe they were just in a rush since we had 100s of people in line at our event, but this simply not drinkable. Maybe if i see this truck again at another venue i’ll give them another chance but my first experience was not so memorable in my book.

This truck is at every farmer’s market in the OC and people love it! This one vendor told me she has their açai bowl every Sunday. $ 8 is expensive for a bowl, but so is açai. The fresh ingredients/health factor make it worth it? Maybe? I feel like I’m eating super food when I have the bowl. It’s literally a bunch of good-for-you things combined into a tasty frozen treat. I ordered the Jungle Love. The kale in the smoothie portion was completely unrecognizable!(for those who don’t really like kale…) The bee pollen on top is a little bitter, but it gets hidden in the agave syrup drizzled on top. Highly recommend sharing this, as the granola gets soggy, and there is just so much of it… I froze whatever I could not finish, and it honestly tasted better. The granola at the bottom no longer tasted soggy, and the frozen strawberry and banana tasted better as well. Wait was a little long and people in truck were not attentive, especially since random people not buying anything would come up to talk to them for minutes. Is it possible to lower the price too? Even by just $ 1??? Overall, I’d have this again… maybe a smaller portion for a cheaper price, if possible.

I tried this out at SoCo Farmer’s Market on a hot summer morning. I must say, this was quite a treat. Service: The servers were friendly and the delivery was quick(less than 5 minutes). One other person was ahead of me. Food: I ordered the fusion and that was delicious. The hemp granola was crunchy and fresh, the fruits were rich with its natural juice, and the acai had a well balanced texture(not too liquidy and not too thick). I first thought it this would be an appetizer for my brunch but this actually filled me up. Overall: I gave this five stars because holistically, the experience was amazing. The reasonable price($ 8), quick service, friendly customer service, and the sweet flavorful taste flirting with your taste buds down to the very last bite.

I wish I could have this for breakfast every day, but I have to wait until Sunday for the OC Great Park. It’s filling yet not heavy and sweet but doesn’t make me feel guilty. My favorite is the fusion, who am I kidding, I have only tried the fusion. I want to try other flavors but never want to miss out on the fusion.

great tasting acai bowl. got the Fusion. love that they put a lot of granola at the bottom of the bowl as well as the top. Could have done without the shaved almonds though. I got my bowl in less than 5 minutes. Banzai Bowl should take note of that. Head to head I still prefer Banzai Bowl though. Both are great.

Pulp Fusion came to my apartment complex last week, and I really hope they come back! Their acai bowls are amazing and full of nutritious ingredients. I ordered the Jungle Love, and I felt like I got enough antioxidants for the week! It tasted sweet from the acai and other fruit, but it was nice and green from the spinach and kale. I really enjoyed it. The portions are generous, too. I got the regular for $ 8, but the small $ 5 version was plenty big.

This truck is the beesknees. Their food is super healthy and pretty filling. They came to where I worked and I will be looking for them again. The owners are cool and really know their stuff. Definetly worth checking out.

«acai? is that uh-ka-ee or uh-sai-ee?» «lisa, it’s uh-sigh-ee.» my coworker and i saw this truck near our work and i was instantly curious… i’ve seen so many people write/post about acai bowls, but never tried it… so this was my first time! we split a cocoa loco bowl($ 8), which is «Açai blended with coconut milk, nutella, banana and strawberries. Served over hemp granola and topped with sliced bananas, strawberries, coconut flakes and cacao nibs.» i was sold on every ingredient. i LOVE the consistency of the mixture… creamy, yogurt-y, ice-creamy sweetness. and it was nice because we got a burrito from dos chinos one truck over, so having this for dessert made me feel a little less guilty for devouring a fatty, roasted pork belly burrito. a healthy and delicious treat. no sugar added, all the sweetness from the ingredients. the nutella flavor was subtle, which was good, because it didn’t overpower everything else, and every bite was smooth with a bit of a crunch from the coconut flakes, cacao nibs, and granola. i’m so happy my first acai bowl was a positive experience !

Pulp fusion was at the OC Great Park Farmers Market today and on a whim decided to try it. Friendly guy working at the truck who answered some questions for us and explained their menu. They specialize in acai bowls, chock full of power foods. We tried the Jungle Love($ 8): «Açai blended with coconut water, bananas, pineapple, blueberries, spinach and kale. Served over hemp granola and topped with sliced bananas, strawberries, bee pollen and honey.» YUM. The bf even enjoyed it too! Something magical happens in that truck because they turned all those fruit and veggies into a creamy almost sorbet like texture. The hemp granola was awesome too but hard to get to since it’s at the bottom and this thing is HUGE! Kind of expensive but so good for you AND yummy. Check them out!

I’m pretty much a newbie when it comes to «acai bowl» but I think Pulp Fusion’s acai bowl is pretty damn good. At one of the food truck gathering, I saw multiple people eating what looked like purple froyo topped with blueberries and strawberries. They looked really good. So I decided to give it a try even after I had ordered a pulled pork grilled cheese from another truck. It was really a love at first bite. I’ve been hooked on acai bowl ever since! I really wish they’re around more often during the week so I can have their acai bowl for lunch :)

The Pulp Fusion Truck came by my work yesterday for the first time and I loved it! So did a lot of other people in my office. I got the Jungle Love, and it was not only delicious, but it was full of healthy ingredients. I don’t know what ingedient in there did it, but I was in a better mood for the rest of that day than I have been in a long while. It definitely gave me a much needed boost. Hope they come back again soon!
