I ordered a small Banh coun($ 6), a large phở dac biet($ 7.75), and an iced coffee($ 2.50). I should have just come here for the house specialty, which was the Banh cuon. The rice paper was cool, chewy, stuffed with minced pork and mushrooms with pork sung on top. There were a few slices of fish cake and a pile of cooked bean sprouts. This was a great dish, and I would come back just for this. The phở was just fine, lots of meat, second fiddle to the Banh cuon.

Get their #4 Banh Cuon Dat Biet! My whole family loves this place and we love the banh cuon here! Their fish sauce is very light and flavorful, to my liking.

As others reviews have alluded to, the banh cuon here is what its well known for and rightfully so. Its definitely a must have here. Also because this is a phở restaurant, you can fill your craving for phở here as well. Nothing to rave about for the phở but it’s still good and worth getting along with the banh cuon.

Phở meat quality is good. The broth was steaming hot but it tasted like water down for me. Quantity is amazing here. Service is a bit slow here though, Cash only.

The #4 Banh cuon dac biet is seriously the best! Even if they say it might take 25 min for our food to come out, I still order it and don’t mind the wait. It is my go to spot when I am in the area. The interior of the restaurant is not too appealing. However, it does not stop me from coming to this place. The staff are always nice.

Best kept secret. Banh Cuon or Vietnamese rice crepes is the Best. If they move up to Bolsa ave, few blocks west, there would be a line out the door everyday. Shopping strip is a bit of a turn off; but one can always do to-go.

Great price, excellent quality broth(what makes your phở a phở!). Menu is small, but don’t let that deter you from coming back for more. The kitchen is fast and looking around the restaurant(and Unilocal reviews), this place seems to be a local hit. We went a bit after lunch rush, so parking was easy. Based on the popularity of this, parking could be a hassle at other times of the day. They prefer that you pay cash only, but if you don’t charge and automatic tip of 15% is automatically included in any card transaction. Looking forward to many more trips.

This place has the best Banh Cuon. So glad I discovered this place, defenitily worth coming here if you want some good Banh Cuon. However, the phở here isn’t that great. If you want phở, go else where, but if you want the best banh cuon, come to this place!

Not a fancy place, but the Banh Cuon here is the best! That’s actually all I come here for. They also serve Phở, but I think their phở is just ok. The Banh Cuon is made a little differently here. It’s pork filled rice rolls topped with shredded dried pork and pork ham slices, eaten with fish sauce. I’m not used to having the dried pork on top, but it’s really good! Typically, other places top the Banh Cuon with lots of mint leaves, herbs, bean sprouts, pork ham, and sometimes banh cong, but I love this version too. The rice rolls are made thin and fluffy(not thick), so it tastes light and delicious!

I have to say the Phở was pretty good. Service was so so but if you are looking for some decent Phở I would recommend this place.

This is my favorite spot for banh cuon. It has all the right toppings and is the thinnest banh cuon ever. It almost melts in your mouth. It’s stuffed with meat, and I tend to just like the plain ones but it’s so good here. I highly recommend it if you want some good banh cuon.

They opened on Christmas Day! We ordered to go phở ga, phở tai, and phở dac biet. All tasted flavorful. Although we have had better phở, to be fair, phở to go is never as good as phở ordered eat-in. Their banh cuon is very good. We ordered them to go and they came with all the fixings. They are pricey. 5 rolls for $ 7.75. I probably would not come here again just because there are other banh cuon places in Garden Grove that are just as good but you get more for the price. In addition, they only serve phở and banh cuon here, so if you have the urge for something else, you are out of luck.

Little history, this restaurant has familial connections with the original highly popular Phở Tau Bay in Saigon before the Communist took over in 1975. When Americans pulled out at the end of the Vietnam war, a huge population of Vietnamese who were sympathetic to American interests were forced to flee their homeland or face prison or even death. With them they took memories of their home. This phở place is a remnant of that Vietnam. There are several restaurants that bear this namesake though this is the only one I’ve confirmed is connected to that phở place in Vietnam. With that said, the phở and banh cuon are really great. Pretty much the standard for what phở and banh cuon should be. Good portions, cheap. Bit run down.

I had completely forgotten I’d been here before, so even after some friends directed me here, I had no clue until I came on here to write a review and saw«update my review». In all honesty, it HAS been almost 8 years since I last visited. We were here only for the banh cuon and this time, I had a Vietnamese speaker with me. We ordered 2 types of banh cuon, but I think the banh cuon dac biet was my favorite, with the pork floss on top. The banh cuon themselves are light and very delicate(not like Tay Ho’s) and reminds me of breakfast cheung fun in Hong Kong. We also ordered a bowl of beef balls which comes floating in a bowl of soup. It was very welcoming seeing the banh cuon was a dry dish.

Lighter type of broth… kind of like the ultimate«home-style» phở’. Light but still alot of flavor and character. Excellent if you are into that type.

Stopped here on a visit to Disneyland. Wasn’t disappointed. Oftentimes when I come into a Vietnamese owned and operated joint in this area, I am given the look like of «What da hell yu doeeng heea boy?» that accompanies my mixed heritage(Half Vietnamese, Half Caucasian), which immediately turns me off to a place. Not here, though. My girlfriend and I were courteously greeted and accepted as if I were a regular. I loved that. Service was impeccable and the place was bustling so chip that up another mark. On to the food. I had specifically chosen this place out of a vast swath of possibilites because of the banh cuon options. They did not disappoint. I sat there amidst this luxurious pile of meat and noodle and soaked in every detail of its construct. It was a beaut. And it’s taste only perpetuated the love affair. I cannot accurately describe the pleasures that I partook in its demolition, only that if you like banh cuon, that you should also invest your time and money into this one.

This place is mandatory whenever I come visit my parents in Little Saigon. Back then when mom and dad were dating, they often ate at the original Phở Tau Bay in Saigon. I believe it was run by the owner’s granny 40 years ago. What can I say? It’s absolutely the best banh cuon you can get in OC. The banh cuon is thin as it can get. I usually get the large banh cuon dac biet which has cha bong(dried shredded chicken) in addition to the regular ingredients. Tip: Bring cash, this is Little Saigon. Chon thue heaven xD

The. Best. Banh Cuon hands down. It’s located in a small sketchy little strip mall next to a liquor store. Kind of hard to find, but it’s near the corner of 1st& Harbor. We always order the banh cuon dac biet(banh cuon with everything). Still super fresh when ordering to-go, that is how you know it’s good! The rice paper is so fresh and thin; it melts in your mouth. The combination of the sauce & all of the fixings make it even more delish with each bite! My favorite banh cuon place for sure! Make sure you have cash, or you’ll be sorry!

We always come down to this place in Santa Ana for«Banh cuon»: a special Vietnamese dish with thin rice paper rolling with ground meat, pork roll and top with bean sprout and fish sauce. It is very light, tasty and the best in this area. They do have good phở soup too! The famous: «phở tau bay» Ly Thai To from Saigon, Vietnam. It always crowded in the weekend and holidays. Worth to try their Phở, It was really nice from the first sip. Me and my gf who love Phở visit many Phở shop. This shop make us love viet food more and more a special beef phở was good their soup base is awesome. Not just a beef phở, fish phở is very nice with difference soup base and they also have congee(soft boiled rice) and many more menu. From price I pay I’m very happy as they are great value for this good dish. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED to my Unilocal friends.

Ok on the phở. The broth was missing that deep bone broth that has been cooking for a long time for the bone marrow to infuse in and in hot temp.(Sorry if I grossed u out, but hey, how r the great broth made?)it tasted more like soup packaged from chicken noodle soup. I had better better. However, The #4 is the best crepes with meat inside is the best. Chewy. crunchy and flavorful in each bite. No need to heat it up. I like the cozy mom Pop Resturant feeling The service was quick and very attentive.(Without the yelling) I got it to-go and they got my order right. 2pho and 1 #4 crepes for $ 23. Not bad Next time I think that I’ll order #4 only.
