This is place amazing. Dr. Chon made my Tooth Extraction i needed for my braces be painless free & nothing to worry about. I didnt feel anything at all while i had my tooth pulled out. I would highly recommend going to his dental office as he is friendly and an absolute professional at what he does. His staff are very friendly as well and very welcoming. I would give him a ¹⁰⁄₁₀ stars if i could. I will be back if i ever need anything due with dental. Thank you Dr. chon.

When did dentists become used car salesmen??? I had a discolored tooth and I went to three different dentists and they all recommended at least over $ 1000 worth of cosmetic dental procedures from veneer, to root canal and of course they said you needed a porcelain crown and etc… Seemed ridiculously costly for one tooth. Long story short went to Dr. Chon — who just bleached it from the inside out and was straight up and said you don’t need to do any of that and it’s been fine now for over several years. Anyways I have such peace of mind that there’s a dentist I can trust and I recommend him to all my friends.

Everyone in this office is super friendly and helpful. The facility is very clean and I could not be happier. I would definitely recommend to all my friends and family!

Dr Chon is very knowledgable and trustworthy, only bummer is I wish I would have found him 10 years prior before I was messed up by prior dentists not doing a good job specifically with respect to my prior root canals. If you are looking for an honest, highly educated and trusting dentist Dr Chon is the right fit for you. His staff is so friendly and sweet, and make the trip worth while. I recommend all my friends, family and co workers to Dr Chon, trust me you will not be disappointed!

This week I went to Dr. Chon since I haven’t been to the dentist for a couple of months and needed a regular cleaning and out of all the dentist I’ve been to in, this has been the best dentist. All the staff were helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody who wants a better dentist.

Prior to getting in contact with Dr. Chon. I was needed a root canal bad on my left 1^st Bicuspid. I saw a team of two grown dentists in their mid — late 40’s who pretty much wasted my time. They made me lay down for 30 minutes, checked my tooth for a good 3 minutes and said «oh yeah we can do this no problem» they leave the room — 20 or so minutes later they come back and said «We won’t be able to do it, so we’re going to send you to a specialist «. I pretty much just smiled and got the eff outta there.
2 days later I got in touch with Dr. Chon after a grueling search for a good dentist online. What really caught my attention was his picture. That cute picture of him climbing up a coconut tree. Yes! that picture! I thought this guy looked super cool! I called him pretty early, it was a Friday morning at 8 AM. This sleepy sounding voice answered the phone and pretty much convinced me that he can do the job and that those two dentists that I saw sucked big time. Oh yeah, Dr. Chon’s office was closed that day when I called. He was at home sleeping, I pretty much woke him up but he still answered his cell and scheduled me for Monday. Now, how freakin’ cool is that?
Dr. Chon worked his magic and got all the work that I needed done. Been a dedicated patient ever since. I’ve recommended friends and strangers here and I’m going to keep on doing that. Dr. Chon and his staff are extremely friendly and very caring. You don’t feel like you’re walking into a maze, guided by a mute assistant to meet the man on a white robe. I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about! That doesn’t exist here.
Best dentist and staff ever!

When I hear of people who say they enjoy going to the dentist, I could never relate or even understand why they ever felt that way. Going to the dentist was a dreaded routine for me. But when I became a patient of Dr. Chon’s, I began to feel differently. Dr. Chon has a way of making his patients feel completely at ease. He’s also very patient in answering any questions or concerns that I have. I never feel rushed, and I feel completely confident that he is doing a thorough job. He always has my best interest at heart when giving me dental advice. Even at times when I’ve experienced pain, he made every effort to accommodate me into his schedule. Dr. Chon really cares about his patients, which I feel is rare in a dentist these days.
My whole family are now patients of Dr. Chon’s. My kids used to be very fearful of dental visits, but Dr. Chon has a very calming demeanor that helps my kids feel at ease. He has a very gentle approach which allowed him to gain my children’s trust instantly, and now they no longer fear going to the dentist. He’s great with kids!
In addition, his staff is very kind and friendly and always makes my visit such a pleasant one. I should also add that the office is always immaculate, which for me is a must. Being somewhat of a germ-​a-​phobe, I really appreciate the lengths they take in keeping the office so clean. I’m so grateful to Dr. Chon and his staff for providing such quality service every time for me and my family.

Pros:

Cons:
1) Relative to other dentists I’ve gone to, Dr. Chon seems to take a «macro» approach, which may not be the best fit for everyone. I had two specific teeth that were bothering me – one that had been crowned a few years ago, and one that had recently been filled. I explained their history and current state to Dr. Chon. He did whole-​mouth x-​rays, photos and exam. His diagnosis was that my entire bite needed to be realigned, that I would possibly need braces again if the realignment didn’t work and that I also had severe gingivitis that would need to be treated over several months. I asked him what was going to be done about the two teeth that were bothering me. He said there was no immediate answer for them, that the realignment was the priority.
2) For some procedures, Dr. Chon charges by the amount of time it takes him to do the procedure, not the procedure itself, which didn’t fit with my dental PPO insurance plan. In my case, nothing on the treatment plan was covered by my dental PPO insurance except for a filling he was recommending. The bite realignment he recommended was going to begin with what he calls a «bite analysis,» which was going to be him taking a mold of my mouth and studying it to determine where to build out or take away. He told me that he charges by the amount of time it takes to do the analysis, not for the procedure itself. His estimate was an hour at first, but then when I was going over the plan with the assistant before I left, it increased to an hour and a half and it was going to be ~$ 1,500, plus $ 900 for a night guard.
3) Outdated/​inaccurate paperwork. They had me sign a waiver for a deep cleaning that talked about pain, discomfort, potential bleeding, possibly needing pain medication, etc., but the cleaning the hygienist did wasn’t any more rigorous or longer than the 5 – 10 minute regular cleanings I’ve had in the past. I mentioned my deep cleaning to a couple people who’ve had them before and they found the short time and lack of digging and discomfort odd. So did my insurance company. I called my insurance company, who had been billed $ 500 in addition to the $ 140 I paid before leaving the office that day, and their explanation of their understanding of what’s involved in a deep cleaning was far more involved (long time, scraping and digging, some pain/​discomfort, etc.) than what I described to them. They suggested I ask Dr. Chon in case his team had made a billing error; Dr. Chon said that it appeared he and I had had a misunderstanding because they use a laser for their deep cleanings. Maybe updating the deep-​cleaning waiver to match the way they do the procedure could be helpful in preventing future patient misunderstandings?
Based on these Cons I decided that Dr. Chon wasn’t going to be the best fit for me, my situation or my insurance. I went to another dentist who studied the two teeth that were bothering me and got them fixed. Because the work was going to be at the end of the year, my new dentist was even proactive about scheduling the work so that I didn’t overrun my insurance coverage for last year.

I went back for a routine cleaning yesterday. Everybody was really great, as usual.
After leaving the office I realized that I hadn’t thought about the work Dr. Chon and the staff had done on my crowns earlier in the year, because I haven’t needed to. Not even once have the crowns they worked on bothered me, made me concerned or left me nagging doubts. Peace of mind is good.

I drive 2 hours in traffic just to see my dentist. He’s very meticulous and walks me through every step so that I feel very comfortable. Oh, and he always gives me a bag of goodie before I leave!

been to his office for different procedures, including an emergency root canal, cleaning & the Zoom. Dr. Chon is always very thorough & his entire staff, Karen, Sylvia & Betty are super friendly & makes you feel really cared for.

I have had numerous dentists during my life having grown up in a military family and moving every 3 years. Dr. Chon and his friendly staff are absolutely the BEST!!! Very kind and curtious and by far the most responsive office around. If you look at my profile and see how far away I live from his office, you will see that I don’t kid. Try them out and you won’t regret it.

This is the best dental office I’ve been to. About 3 years ago, I had several cavities. He completely cleaned out the cavities, then sealed them properly with composite fillings which you cannot even distinguish from the natural enamel of the teeth, and they’re all still intact. Last year, I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled. The procedure lasted less than 30 minutes and it was absolutely painless. His staff is extremely courteous and knowledgeable. If you’re looking for a dentist in Orange County, I would highly suggest this dentist.

This guy saved my teeth! I had problems with my gums and they are way better now. His dental assistants are friendly too. Oh, and his equipment is pretty modern such as ultra vibrating deep cleaning… not the old scrapers (although I would think most dentists stopped using the old scrapers by now).
