Came here after I hit the bakery… Ordered a carnitas burrito and it was ok. Not overly impressed with the burrito, it had a good amount of meat and the lady who took my order was really nice.

BESTCARNITASEVER. My coworkers love having food catered from here. Super affordable and soooo so good. And there’s always leftovers. For a group of 7, we ordered 3 different types of meat(1 lb each), with tortillas, onions & cilantro, 2 salsas, chips, rice and beans for a little less than $ 40. And we can never finish. Let’s get back to the carnitas though… full of flavor and perfectly tender… this is the shining star here. I am always telling my friends about this place and cannot wait until I come back. Not to mention there’s bakery store next door that always smells incredible. There’s also a grocery store next door where you can find marinated meats to purchase to go amongst all your other regular groceries. One stop shop(or uh, plaza) for all your Mexican food needs.

I’m not a big fan of land farm animals meats from the US to begin with but the few I tried it was not impressed, menudo and carnitas. However I do highly suggest the freshly squeezed juices my personal favorite is «Vampiro» it’s beets, carrots, celery, orange, pinapple juice. The Vampiro brings me great good energy. I get extra large and it’s $ 7. You do wait because again it’s freshly squeezed. Sometimes they have OJ or carrot juice pre squeezed ready to go. The quesadilla de queltlicoche(corn smut)(it’s a fungus but not a mushroom) enjoyable made out of fresh made tortilla but it is fried. I give a 5 star to the fresh daily made guacamole, Pico de Gallo to go. The cactus salad chopped and ready to go and healthy! The green and red salsa’s are ok. Not the best but again I grab those because they are handy and ready to go. My staff roars and loves for sure guacamole and cactus salad and of course the chips. All handy ready to go and trust me it will save you from chopping when you are exhausted after a long week of work. Another taste treats is the fried hard shell potato tacos. You can ask for plain or fixed. Fresh tortillas are really yummo and champurado is in season. Fresh Masa is always in season and a must try. Fried plantain bananas with sour cream is a must but I ask them not to add sugar. Only source cream. «I’m a bad Mexican that has no time to cook or take the time to make freshly squeeze juices .sigh. Lastly the nuno cashier early shift girls are sweet and kind. I do not know anything about later on during the day. I only recommend to come early in the morning otherwise it’s a zoo. Another if you are to fancy for your shoes this is not for you. It’s simple and to the point. You grab your grub and you eat it or go. Do not come and think it’s fancy because it’s not. You must have a $ 10 order minimum, otherwise if it’s less then you will be charged«50 cents extra» for debit or credit charge fee. Again it’s not a fast food chain you will have to wait for any food you order. Otherwise swing by and enjoy. Ps. I might try the pozole but that’s only available on Thursdays

I’ve been wanting to find an authentic taco that would in any possible way, resemble the delicious birria taco I’ve had in Tijuana. So when I went to the bakery next door to get a tres leches cake and saw this place, unpretentious, with outdoor seating, full of Hispanics, I had high hopes… Unfortunately, something was missing in my tacos. The meat by itself was ok. When you have a bite of it with the tortilla(which is bigger than usual) and salsa, it just becomes bland and tasteless. The tortillas seemed fresh and soft but again, tasteless. The meat is chopped into very small pieces and there’s lots of cilantro on top. Even after squeezing lime on it, there’s still flavor missing. I tried to eat the meat by itself but I just couldn’t. I feel bad for writing this as the people there were really nice. Hopefully they’ll add more salt and sazon!!!

Nuños is a perfect example of a good working mans /womans place to eat. no hip fancy over priced stuff here. just good eats at a good price. its location just calls for a food coma in the making. haha. you can get tacos, amazing burritos, sopes, good to go or even stuff like carnitas and sides by the pound, half pound ect. and of course the most fresh tortillas you can find. and also check out the bakery and market next door for even more treats. highly recommend the tortas, the al pastor is my favorite. in all this place will leave your stomach full and won’t break your bank either.

This place is a great spot for authentic Mexican ingredients as well as great stereotyping of hispanics such as myself. Get yourself a cacho of some queso los altos. Some tortillas, a couple of pounds of carne ranchera preparada and pollo para asar preparada some of their salsa some green onions. Then grill it all up!!! The final step is to invite the man who made it all possible. Me. You’re welcome

I’m not sure about the food, but the fresh made tortillas are the absolute best around. You can buy them fresh off the presses and take them home for some good eating. My parents used to drive out here 15 mins from Orange when we needed good tortillas for out of town family coming over for dinner. otherwise we’d eat the crappy stuff all the rest of the year.

— Locale destination — It’s in the little Mexico.(jk — in Santa Ana). They sell meats and other stuff. They make their own tortilla, as well. Only little English. There are outside seating. Next to Mexican bakery and supermarket. — Gluttony expedition — Carne Asada Burrito: Ground beef. It’s ok. Carnitas Burrito: Tender but tastless. Salsa: They got only pico de gallo, tomatillo, sauce for quesadila — No red normal salsa :( — Conqueror’s deduction — It’s cheap. Everything is like under $ 4. Taco is like $ 1.50. Burrito was good portion.

So the other day I found a «5 star» Mexican joint over in Long Beach and was still in a Mexican food frenzy today. So, as I am driving down the street, Nuno Bros. Tortilleria catches my eye and I say«let’s do this»! I wish I would have said, «let’s run away!» lol Naw, I kid. This place was pretty cool actually. I just didn’t care for what I ordered. I tried the prok and beef burritos and both were pretty good. It’s just that nothing hit me like«POWPOW!»(ever seen Step Brothers?). Pork was light but had very little taste. Beef was pretty good and overall I thought it was good. Pico de Gallo was really tasty here… I tasted more cilantro than anything in it so I just used it on both burritos and it pretty much saved the day. Also had a Coke from Mexico — damn those things are sweet. So, overall it was good but nothing caught my attention so much. There are many places to go to in this area, but next time I am in the mood for Mexican, I am driving my happy ass over to Long Beach. Spot is worth a look though.
