Great service Very affordable. Had tacos Alpastor and asada. You can see your tacos been prepare right in front of you and the cook is really nice about telling what and how he is cooking. You also need to try their grilled chile Serrano !!! Will be coming back! Thank you Nelly

I’m giving this place two stars after having tried it for a second time. In my opinion the prices are ridiculous for what you get. Almost all of their actual plates are $ 12+ up not including their tortas and miscellaneous items which are about 9 dollars and up. The only thing I loved from this place was the Horchata water and even that is 2 dollars a cup, and that is for a small. I went in with my grandmother and was excited to have her try the Horchata however one full plate(that she didn’t eat) and 29 dollars and some change later we ended up leaving very disappointed. She bought the chilaquiles verdes which consisted of watered down beans, bland rice with a weird flavor which I saw them taking out of plastic grocery bag? and their own hard chips they serve while you’re waiting doused in green sauce with a few pieces of grated cheese on it and one very over hard cooked egg(they didn’t even ask how she wanted it cooked). First of all isn’t this place supposed to serve«homemade food» please explain to me how you rather serve mediocre chips from the grocery store down the street with salsa on them and call that chilaquiles? We were so disappointed she left the whole plate full. Homemade in this case should of been your staff preparing the food themselves using fresh tortillas and salsa for the chilaquiles. As for me I got two tripe tacos which barely had enough of meat on them and we’re mostly cabage and onion. Literally a few pieces of over cooked tripe. Crunchy and tasteless to say the least on the tiniest tortillas I’ve ever seen but hey at least they gave you two tortillas for each taco however small they were. Super duper disappointed. Never again.

I’m writing this review update because of the supposed owner of this business sent me a message.(See Posted Owner Message on Photos) I want to clarify a few things before hand: 1. I am NOT an employee or affiliate of Tacos Sinaloa 2. I was comparing it Tacos Sinaloa since they are barely half a mile apart. 3. I ordered 2 orders of Huevos Rancheros(one for me, one for my sister) 4. As stated by the«owner» — They are 9.99 $ each. 9.99×2 = 19.98 + 3.99 –drink = 23.97 plus tax 1.91 $ = total of 25.88. I do stand corrected on the very slight 27 $ mark it was almost 26 $ 5. Unilocal is a site where you post your opinion. It is up to the reader to take it as it is. 6. I commented on the price since the QUALITY was NOTWORTH the MONEY. — Again, this is just my opinion, not a direct personal attack. I might not have an experience of owning a restaurant but I do know poor customer service when I see it. Harassing Unilocalers on a review is no way a good start for a business!

Disappointed. Drove to location only to have it be closed. Seems like business was closing its doors to permanently… SUGGESTION: I would call before driving if you’re reading this.

I had passed by this place a couple of times, late night, and had noticed their ‘fresh tortillas’ sign. I knew I eventually had to get a taste of dat! Today my Lady and I were on a quick lunch hunt & we dropped in for a Tortas. We decided to mix it up with a Cubanno & a Michiwacan and were Not disappointed. The bread was soooo butter y and toasty, the veggie s were soooo fresh and soooo Klean and the meat was just Robust. All I can say is when I asked my Girl which one had t he over medium egg within it, she just rolled her eyes back and she smiled. Soooo, you know we will be back fo mo!

The name translates to Nelly’s kitchen and the food served here is just like what you would be served if you were in a Mexican kitchen. The tortillas are handmade and everything else on the menu is made from scratch with pride. If you are looking for an authentic hole-in-the-wall experience, give this restaurant a try. They offer traditional dishes along side other regional specialties you normally don’t find to often. Ask the staff if you feel adventurous with the menu. At this time, it’s cash only, but worth any inconvenience you might encounter.

Hole in the wall and perhaps not much to see, but hubby and I exited 5 freeway due to traffic, saw them cooking tacos outside, did a u turn, and got the best tasting Al pastor and asada street tacos we’ve tasted in Orange County. Yummy salsa! Great service! Wish I posted a pic but I scarfed my food down. We will be back!

Came in here with the expectations for great food once it seemed homemade, from all the signs at least. Morisqueta dish was $ 15… absolutely ridiculous for a dish consisting of rice, beans and pork. Salsas was salty and flavorless. The service was good at least.

Absolutely Amazing. They pride themselves in high-quality protein and fresh vegetables. Handmade tortillas. Family business that cooks with pride and good health in mind. Soon will have fresh juice available, too!

I have been coming to this place since the week it opened. My husband and I were craving Mexican food and being new to Santa Ana we were unsure of where to go. So we happened upon this place. The owner Nelly is amazing. My husband is a vegetarian and she makes all kinds of things for him that are not on the menu. I can’t handle spicy food and she prepares things for me that have no spiciness to them. She makes everything fresh with fresh ingredients. On multiple occasions we have seen her walk in with bags of fresh produce that she gets from local farmers markets. Everything is hand made, so don’t expect a average blow Joe burrito, and like a good restaurant, it will take time to make it. And you can definitely feel the love and dedication she puts in all of the meals that she makes. When she makes Esquite, it is too die for. She also hand makes corn tortillas. If you’re ever in the neighborhood stop by and try the food. It is amazing.
