I love«sneaking» into this place. It is tucked into the back lot in a commercial district of Santa Ana, so not easy to find. If you drive too fast down Dyer, you will pass the small arrow signage. Parking is easy, but you may feel a little like you should not be there. Each time I’ve visited, the staff has been busy at work in one area of the shop, restoring/repairing/refinishing things, and they don’t always know I’m there. Chandeliers, gates, doors, furniture and so much more! The most fun thing about this place is that I never know what I might discover. And things are definitely easy to miss, as organization is not priority. Fine by me – I’m willing to dig to find a treasure. But we’re not talking digging through Granny’s attic; these items are imports, primarily from Europe. If I have my history correct, the owner used to work for a huge antique store in Costa Mesa called Lyon’s, which was there forever and was the real deal. The current owner bought the stock and probably went away with all the knowledge needed for restoration and sourcing directly from Europe. And employees, I would speculate. Good for him. Them.

I had a broken dining room chair and the crew at Heredia were able to fix it for a fair price. I would give them my business again!

I’ve used Heredia Antiques twice for furniture repairs and restoration. And I’ll use them again in the future. Here’s why: 1) They know their stuff — They easily recognize good quality furniture — They know the proper way to do the work and recognize any limitations they may encounter while working on it in order to maintain the furniture’s integrity. 2) They are timely — Work has been completed before the estimated completion date(done in days instead of weeks) — They’ll come out to pick up your furniture and not make you wait around 3) They are reasonably priced. — They offer better prices than their competitors — By the way: they also sell antiques

I found Heredia’s Antiques on Unilocal, and they did not disappoint! Thank you fellow reviewers… my whole experience was truly amazing. I called for an estimate, and sent a few pictures. The quote was inline with what I was expecting. In two days, my pieces were picked up and in two weeks, they are back and beautiful! I had a chestnut two piece library that was repaired for cracks in the paneling, loose crown molding, broken lock and hinges. The finish was all gone and the wood was faded. It had been neglected in Reno for 20 yrs and now is a gorgeous addition to my kitchen. Heredia’s stained it a very nice warm brown, and it was exactly the right direction to go for the 1890’s library. The second piece is a tiger oak curio also 19th century that was damaged in the move around the mirror and in general need of TLC. Now it is expertly repaired and refinished with the perfect stain. Thank you Heredia’s for taking such good care of my families treasures. I will now enjoy them for many years to come!

I really can’t add anything to what Elizabeth H. or Perlie P. has written. I just wanted to offer my praIse and satisfaction for the work Zepharino and his staff did on my OLD Duncan Phyfe drop leaf table. He even went as far as to redo the leaves(which were in perfect condition) so they matched the finished table. The top of the table was badly scratched and damaged on only one(1) corner, but it needed a full repair to have it look right. I would never know where the original damage was now. Good place to deal with furniture and very nice people to do it with.

I can’t even begin to express how amazing their work on my damaged armoire was. I called them after movers had cracked the side of my solid wood armoire. Tore the top off of it and dislodged the top mantel piece. I was absolutely beside myself. They asked to come out and see the piece, picked it up on a Friday and had it back to me by the following friday. Their price was fair, they were professional and treated my furniture with such care. I couldn’t be more happy. Thank you so much Heredia Antiques. I will definitely use you guys again in the future!

Brought My great-grandfathers 1920’s dining table and chairs here. I had initially intended to take the furniture to another store to have it refinished and the chairs repaired but the other place let me down. I was looking through Unilocal and found Heredias, since it was just down the street from the other place I popped in, showed them the table and chairs a they quoted me a decent price. It took two weeks and I’m sure lots of work but the table and chairs look amazing! They had to make a few pieces from the chairs because of the supports were missing. I am so glad I had this done and didn’t buy a new set. It was so worth every penny! I will definitely bring some more of my heirlooms here when the time comes. Thanks so much guys for the great work!

I had an absolutely magnificent 5 star experience with Heredia Antiques after I called upon them to refinish a late 19th century«tallboy» dresser for me. Not only had the dresser been damaged in a recent move(one of the carved feet in the back fell off), but the finish had issues throughout the piece(splotchy, bubbled, chipped, etc) and the hardware was rather gross. We’re talking dirt and grime accumulated over a hundred year period here. I did get numerous appraisals of the piece before I went ahead with the plan to refinish it. So no worries there. I finally picked Heredia Antiques to refinish the piece because they do NOT use a spray stain or varnish. They actually do things old school. I wanted traditional techniques since this tallboy is a true antique. And I was not disappointed. There are special details that come alive to a true antiques enthusiast inspecting work done by hand, instead of lazily applied with one machine after another. For less than $ 350, I had the piece picked up from my home, repaired, refinished, and stored before delivery. Talk about a crazy deal. They were completely finished with the dresser in about two weeks, which is super speedy in my book. But because the dresser was picked up before the holidays, and I LOVE to travel during the holidays, I was away for about a month. No worries there because Heredia Antiques had absolutely no problem storing the piece for me while I was away. I’ve been hit by astronomical storage fees from repairers /refinishers in the past, and that was a welcome and present surprise. Throughout the entire process, they kept in contact with me. Calling me at least twice a week to update me on the status of the dresser or other details. Providing me the phone number of their office, delivery truck, and even a cell phone just in case. The day of pick up, they called to confirm and arrived on the dot. The same went for the day of drop off. I’ve never ever had an OC merchant arrive on time for me, ever. And they did, twice. When the dresser was finally delivered to me, it was carefully wrapped in thick plastic to protect it on all sides. Noting that I have dark wood floors, they placed some non-permanent felt feet on the bottom of the dresser, so as not to scratch anything. Again with the attention-to-detail and high customer consideration. After they placed the piece in my designated spot in the living room — where I plan on making it the decorative accent of the whole space — they took all that thick wrapping off so I could inspect their work. The dark stain was the perfect complement to the natural cherry undertones of the wood, the high gloss finish was appropriate and authentic to the time period, the small finish flaws throughout that were originally very noticeable(at least, to me) had disappeared… they even refinished every drawer, inside and out. And I noticed that they also took the time to clean and buff my hardware. I am seriously still floored by how lucky I am to have come across them online. Never have I found a local service of any kind to be this courteous, professional, and high caliber. So long as I stay in the OC, I plan on taking all of my antique pieces to Heredia’s. For anything. Refinishing, cleaning, or just a touch up, whatever. I’m there. I’m glad that I’ve found at least one service in the OC that I can consistently rely on and they’re definitely going to be seeing a lot more of me.
