This food is more expensive than a lot of other Mexican restaurants. Go somewhere else for prices and quality. Parking lot smells gross btw

I’m giving this place 3 stars because it satisfied my hunger not my appetite. It was over priced and underachieving. I ordered a burrito which was a little too small and it seemed a bit bland. Also I get gas at the chevron next door and every time I go to get gas I see no one there. Come on management change the way you do things to get people in the door!

This place is literally down the street from me about 2 minutes away driving distance. I’ve been going to this location to eat ever since before when it was called«Taco Tio» and then Gammy’s Café and now its called Alvaro’s. Very small hole in the wall place, and I say that with affection because these places are usually the best spots for eating. The servers are always nice. Everything thing I’ve tried so far is really good. I highly recommend getting their carna asada tacos, not the small ones the regular sized ones. Also their chili rellenos plate is also great and so is their chorizo plate. These are the plates I usually get when I go. They give you plenty of salsa of your choice and carrots and jalepenos. They have some tables just outside where you can eat your food or you can just take it to go. Food only takes about 10 minutes or less depending how big your order is. My only complaint I have about this place is that I wished it would stay open very late hours(1am or 2am) at least on weekends. The previous owners(Gammy’s) kept it open this late and it was always a welcome sight to us late nighters who didn’t just want to settle for hamburgers.

Ordered chicken enchiladas… ended up with cheese enchiladas… so gross! Only had one bite and had to put it down. But the carne asada nachos were good…

This placed closed before it’s closing hour. That bad of a business to close early? Hint hint.

Good food, but too pricey. The workers were nice. Even though it’s located in a bad neighborhood, I would easy there again. My only gripe would be the price of their menu items being more than I would pay. You can get nachos for less money at a quality sit down Mexican restaurant.

I had a burrito craving and initially thought this place was an Alerto’s. Once I realized it wasn’t I had already ordered. I got the #6 which was a plate of rice and beans, an enchilada and a burrito. With a side of guacamole it came to $ 9. A little pricey for what I ended up with. Beans were good but greasy and the enchilada would have been good had they taken the time to melt the cheese. My meal seemed very thrown together and the guacamole was foul. Creamy guacamole with possibly mayonnaise or sour cream in it. I doubt I’ll ever come back. The girl who took my order hardly heard me because she was distracted watching people across the street. They get an extra star for having clean picnic tables and surroundings.
