This is a good place for lunch/dinner; an awesome place to just chill out with friends. The parking here is kind of limited. It would be really rare if you could find parking right in front of the 4th market area. I had to park near the YOST theater and walked over. It has a variety of food choices, like ice cream/Popsicle sweets, ethnic fusion foods, classic American options, and alcohol and entertainment. And most importantly, the restrooms are clean. I cant go to places with dirty restrooms. That’s a no-no for me. This place is very similar to the Anaheim Packing district. It is just a bunch of overpriced food vendors with very unique food creativity in action. I recommend going here just to try it out. I liked it, but I don’t know if I would go here again.

This is a good place for lunch or just chill out. It has a variety of food choices, like sweets, ethnic foods, classic American options, booze and gourmet coffee. And the bathroom is clean This area has changed a lot from just a few years ago. These hipsters are gentrifying downtown but is it good or bad? Well, That’s for the people & politicians to figure it out. As a consumer I am tickled that i can come here for good grub when I’m in the neighborhood.

Books could be written about the difficulty in deciding whether to review entire food courts at once or write separate entries for each vendor(o.k., not books, perhaps a Kindle single, or a few tweets.) With the 4th Street Market it’s an easier call. There’s a pleasant environment, with no need to fight for a seat during my two visits. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean. The operating hours are more generous than expected(11pm on Friday and Saturday though many spots seem to close at 10pm.) And they have a patio with a DJ and giant Connect Four games. It’s not huge but there’s a well-chosen selection mixing Americanized and ethnic offerings. PFC is gone unfortunately, but I enjoyed the shrimp tacos at Asian fusion spot Dos Chinos.

This food bonanza was a fantastic option for those who want to experience a wide variety of food favorites all in one place. I tried small offerings from the pizza place, Vietnamese restaurant and the poutine spot. Each were pretty good but the main draw of the market was the variety. My one real complaint was that most of the restaurants advertise an 1100 opening time but almost none of them were open on time. To make matters a little worse, once opened, some of the places weren’t fully ready to begin food service. Luckily the facilities are nice and people friendly so waiting a few additional minutes really didn’t cause much of an I convince.

AMBIANCE– Along the same vein as Anaheim Packing District, with a conglomerate of little food stands in one central, hipster location. The actual space itself feels a lot smaller though, maybe because it’s just a one-story loop and an outside space. However, I do like Santa Ana’s 4th Street Market’s outside space a little better since there is a DJ mixing music, a projector screen with random videos to accompany the music, backyard games(e.g., giant Jenga and Connect 4), succulent walls, and string lights. DRINKS– Pretty decent alcoholic beverages at moderate-high price. Nothing shocking or nothing significant to say here. PARKING– Biggest thing is parking sucks here. I get that’s it’s Downtown Santa Ana, but come on. I parked right outside the market at metered parking but had to check every hour or so to ensure I still had money in the meter. My advice if you are staying here well over a couple hours is to just park in the garage. Overall, a cute place to eat, drink, and chit chat with friends.

My friends and I would have a girls night out at different foodie place to meet up and catch up on each other’s lives. This time around we decided to come to 4th Street Market. I have never been to Anaheim Packing House but two of my friends have and they said 4th Street Market is definitely smaller compare to Anaheim Packing House. My review will be based on my impression of 4th Street Market. There are two entrance to the place. We came through the entrance nearer to the cross street of Fourth and Bush and just perused around the place. Probably it’s because we were hungry, everything on the menu just seems super tasty. The cool thing about this place is we are not limited to one place. We can go order what we want to eat and just meet up at the outdoor patio or the commons. I walked around and decided to settle with Maple Bacon Jam Burger from Pig Pen Delicacy. It’s a filling burger for $ 8.50. I was glad I didn’t get a fries, though the pork belly fries sure sounds good. Instead I shared some of my friends’ tator tots fries with some spicy sauce all over it. Food was tasty. As for drinks, I got the Raw Ginger Honey Soda($ 4) from Radical Botanicals. It’s a bit pricey for 16oz. At least, they customized to my taste. It’s not as fizzle like soda it’s a bit more like flat soda. There was a live band playing and 2 ping pong tables at the outdoor patio. It was nice and breeze evening and we were just chatting away while the live band played in the background. There’s a parking structure just behind 4th Street Market. Entrance to the parking structure is through Sprugeon. After 4pm, it’s $ 2 flat rate. Or you can try to park on those metered parking up to 2 hrs max. My friends and I agreed it’s a cute place to gather and catch up. We’ll most likely bring our family here to check it out.

I absolutely love modern day food halls :) what better way to support local & nosh on some great cuisines in one open setting? 4th Street Market is very similar to Avanti in Denver… it’s kinda like a food court but not in a hectic shopping mall! Whether you want Vietnamese, Mexican, BBQ, American, desserts, Coffee, pizza, or booze, 4th Street Market has it all. Located in downtown Santa Ana, it’s easy to find parking at a meter or in a garage nearby. They have lots of seating scattered throughout the food hall & an outdoor patio too. There are ~15 restaurant/bar/desserts/coffee shops in this place, and they offer a wide range of food, so you’re sure to find something for everyone. We found kombucha on tap from Terra, where we snagged a veggie burger to go for my mom– it was one of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had! We also had the pork belly fries from Pig Pen Delicacy, which were my favorite. Dos Chinos, a latin/Mexican cuisine, had some interesting Asian fusion tacos that were pretty tasty. I also got a cookie ice cream sandwich from Chunk N Chip for my mom to go, she loved it! All in all, 4th Street Market really caters to anyone with the wide variety of choices. I love supporting local businesses & eating fresh foods in settings like this… I highly recommend you check it out when you’re in the OC!

Located in Santa Ana, this place is very popular for the new and exciting restaurants in their food hall. When I came here in April 2016, many of restaurants that I had heard from friends and from Unilocal are no longer here including PFC and Noodle Tramp. If you’re coming here for specific placed that you want to try, please check to make sure it’s still here before you make the trip. Luckily, we came on a Sunday when parking is free. We found out way around and ordered food from several different restaurants to get a selection of as much as we could. My party shared the poke bowl, the carné asada fries, the bacon jam burger, the banh mi, and the cheese pizza. Unfortunately, none of these blew me away. Some were quite good like the poke we got with ahi and salmon or the bacon jam burger, which I would heartily recommend to anyone visiting 4th Street Market, but I feel like I’ve had better elsewhere for cheaper. Some of the other fare like the pizza and the carné asada fries were exactly what you would expect of any normal pizza or fries. Not exactly inspiring, but maybe that’s all you’re looking for at the moment. All in all, it’s worth a trip to check out or if your group can’t decide what they want to eat! But in the end, I would recommend the Anaheim Packing District over 4th Street Market. Just a side note: we heard from some of the workers there that some of the restaurants that are no longer here are actually owned by Playground just across the street and their items might be on their menu now if you really want it.

My hubby and I decided to go on a food adventure and 4th street market was awesome! Similar to the packing district, hipster type of cafeteria and hangout place. We wanted to try out the Pig Pen and ordered a bacon jam burger, pulled pork sandwich and pork belly french fries. They were so FLAVORFUL!!! The pulled pork sandwich was on a brioche bun, juicy and meaty pulled pork with an over medium egg… the taste was in between sweet and tangy. It had a hint of lime flavor and absolutely delicious! The pork belly fries are just like any poutine fries BUT it had chunks of crispy pork!!! The bacon jam burger was just as flavorful with a tangy BBQ sauce taste. Now for dessert, we went to chink n chip. I had the horchata with dark chocolate and roasted walnut on a dark chocolate waffle cone! Yes, they had flavored waffle cones!!! See photos below. Worth the drive and not as crowded.

New food spots are put in: Terra, Pig Pen & Sit Low Phở! 03.31.16 My friends & I drove here for dinner and decided to make a quick dessert stop at the Anaheim Packing House. Honestly, I prefer going to the 4th Street Market, less crowded and better customer service. The APH is way too overrated with hip and divey spots, most are not even worth making the multiple rounds finding a tight parking spot… across the street, a block away! Anyways, I’m so hooked on Dos Chinos! Those Stoner concoctions are worth the 23-mile drive/30−45 minute drive every time. My girl friend chose the Stoner bowl this evening and it hit the spot! We walked around as well and noticed Sit Low Phở earned its very own shop! Applause, applause! That’ll definitely be on my menu for the next visit. I looked up Pig Pen via Unilocal and it also looked intriguing. Parking does cost in the structure but I’m not even trippin’. $ 1 per hour is nothing compared to the hectic APH parking lot.

Really small market spot that should not be overlooked. Sure, it’s not as hyped up as the Anaheim Packing District, but the vendors here and what they have to offer is still pretty cool and interesting. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t packed at all. Very chill and relaxing atmosphere. There’s various vendors throughout the venue and it’s very cute and during our trip, we tried Dos Chinos which is an Asian and Latin American fusion. We got the Taco Plate, the Stoner Fries, and for drinks, the Thaichata and one of their lemonades. The Taco Plate came with garlic fries and two different types of tacos. The tacos weren’t too shabby and pretty big, but nothing uberly special. This place is popular for their Stoner Fries which is HUGE and for $ 13.50(a tad bit pricey), it’s def a feat. Could barely finish it, but it was a unique and fun thing to try even though it was tiresome to finish. It consisted of fries, fried rice, pork belly, salsa verde, and a fried egg to top it all off. It was more on the sweet side and I personally thought it was a lot to handle, but I liked it for the experience. Thaichata basically tasted like thai tea, but the flavor was really good! The lemonade was really sweet, but refreshing too. My favorite part about this venue was definitely the outside patio seating. It’s really artsy with bright graffiti’d walls, roomy, and there’s a lot of communal bench seating. There’s also 2 ping pong tables, some board games to play with friends, and there was a musician playing the guitar which was pretty cool. I would probably give this place a 3.5 if possible! I still enjoyed the spot overall and would stop by if I were in the area, but I don’t think I’d ever have the urge to drive all the way here from San Diego just for this spot kinda thing.

Lots of great places to eat here that are all hipster related but it’s nice to have everything in one spot. Parking is metered and sucks and I suggest using the park mobile app. lots of room inside the market and not nearly as crowded as the Anaheim Packing District. Price point is higher, obvi but the quality of food really is better. There is great care that goes into the food produced here and you can definitely taste the difference. Booze is available, indoor and outdoor seating, and lots of usb ports to charge your phone. The pig pen and chunk and chip are my favorites so far but I look forward to trying more!

4th street market, oh how I love thee. Let me count the ways… The thing I love the most about this place is that it lends itself to aspiring new chefs that otherwise may not have the means to open their own establishment. They have a very nice, eclectic selection of food. Even for the most discerning pallets. The atmosphere is trendy and vibrant. Wether you want grilled pork, sushi, gourmet tacos or burgers, a cold brew or just a simple espresso, they have it all here. You can sit inside or enjoy an outdoor patio with sometimes live music. This building shares space with a huge, community chefs kitchen thats called East End kitchen, It’s walled with windows, so you can watch the action if you wanted to. Even though I live a bit far from here, I can’t wait to go back. Cheers!

Super cute market place. A Cafeteria like setting with tons of options from Phở to Latin cuisines, even a beer/wine spot for the weekenders. My gfs and I came here for Sunday brunch and fell absolutely in love with their back yard. They have graffiti colored walls to bring out the hipster and cool fun vibe, and tons of over sized childhood fun games such as JENGA and Connect 4! We even got distracted playing a couple rounds of Ping Pong ! Def. worth a gander if your in Santa Ana.

Fourth Street Market has become my new favorite place to meet people up for lunch since it has diverse options to make everyone happy, and is conveniently located by the Orange County Courthouse and not far away from my work(which is otherwise a wasteland for food). I particularly love their fun outdoor patio, where they have games and live music on the weekends. So far I’ve tried: –PFC: pretty good fried chicken and large portions but sadly closed –Stockyard Sandwich Co: good sandwiches + tater tots. I would try their poutine but I feel like I would pass out from a food coma under my desk if I had it on a weekday. –Sit Low Phở: yummy garlic chicken rice bowl with lots of veggies. my parents thought the phở was average. vietnamese iced coffee was strong and delicious. –Portola coffee: love that I can pop in and grab a really good cup of coffee to caffeinate before court. I’ll admit that nothing I’ve had yet has totally blown me away. However everything I’ve had has been very solid and affordable. The food options are not much more than a lot of the chain places with boring lunch options, and I’d much rather support these local places. Parking is generally easy as there is metered street parking or a parking garage that is pretty cheap during the week and free during the day on weekends. I look forward to coming back and trying new places.

Happy Happy 1 year anniversary 4th Street Market!!! We love you!!! We have made so many memories here! We have spent many nights dining in this hot little market and cant believe they have been opened for a year already! Time sure fly’s by! But we are also very sad for losing some of our favorites such as The Noodle Tramp. The Noodle Tramp offered very a authentic Northern Thailand dish(Khau Soi) that we feel in love with on our trip to Thailand. It was a coconut milk spicy broth containing both soft and crunchy noodles. We will miss you Noodle Tramp. Our other favorite spot was PFC where all they served was fried chicken, corn bread and sweet potato salad. It was the best and I quote my BF «the best fried chicken in my life» He was really sad when they closed. But now they have a couple of new places that will hopefully fill in the void in our hearts. We have introduced 4th Street Market to many of our friends and they have enjoyed coming here on multiple nights. We also enjoy the live DJ music on most weekends. Its a great place to hang out and it has a variety of delicious foods to choose from that everyone can enjoy!

I discovered 4th street Market a few months ago when my friends and I came to downtown Santa Ana for dinner on a Saturday night. Since we had gotten dinner already elsewhere, I didn’t get to eat and just looked around. But since that first day, I’ve come here two other times to eat. AMBIENCE: My first impressions were«Wow, this is a pretty cool food court!» It reminds me of Packing House in Anaheim, but smaller and less hipster/photogenic. However, I’d have to say that the food options are better here. If you’ve been up to San Jose, this place reminds me even more of this place called San Pedro Square. Granted, it’s been years since I’ve gone there, but the environment/look/feel is similar. There are long communal tables outside where people can play board games and listen to live music. Definitely a cool place to hang out with friends on a summer’s day. However, the two other times I’ve come here(Sunday for lunch during the fall/winter), it was quite dead. I’ve also noticed that some of the popular restaurants(Noodle Tramp, Ink Waffles, PFC Chicken) have closed. Some of them have been replaced by other restaurants, but it makes me wonder why these businesses can’t survive here or no longer want to be here? :\ PARKING: Like anywhere in Downtown Santa Ana, you can park in the parking structure which is like $ 1/hr or so– not bad. I think it might even be free on the weekends(or at least Sundays) but I’m not sure. We came on a Sunday for lunch and just parked on the street(usually metered, but free on Sundays). FOOD: Last time, I tried the Ink Waffles(I already reviewed that place 4⁄5 stars) which delicious and comparable to Bruxie’s. More recently, I tried the Mexican-Asian fusion restaurant called Dos Chinos, which I think is a popular food truck? Anyways, we got the Santana Burrito which came with Vietnamese chicken and rice. Honestly I didn’t think it was that special or good. BUT their Stoner fries are delicious and portions are gigantic. The shrimp tacos looked pretty good as well. My bf got the pulled pork open sandwich from Ktchn, which was a few shops down. It was pretty good but not amazing. For dessert, we got ice cream at Chunk-n-Chip which was pretty darn good and reasonable for $ 3.50(for two small scoops). VALUE: Expect to spend ~$ 10 or so for an entrée and a few bucks more if you get a drink/dessert. Value is just ok. Not cheap for food court food but cheap compared to eating at a sit-down restaurant. Overall, 4th street is a fun place to eat at, especially when you’re with a large group of people and everyone is craving something different. There are lots of options and plenty of tables/space. I’ve recommended this place to my friends and would definitely return if I’m in the area.

This place is hipster to the max and I love it! Sit back and relax in the portola coffee lounge or grab a bite to eat at one of the many street food vendors. This Spanish«mercado» style food and beverage market is the new kick-it spot for both Santa Ana locals and foodie travelers. And… There’s board games! That’s right, 4th street market kept up with the«backyard» feeling with wooden lunch tables and vintage-classic board games to choose from.

4th Street Market is so awesome. I really like the majority of the eateries here. The downside is that the surrounding area is so ghetto, but once inside the market itself, it just seems like you’re in a different area altogether. For parking we just parked in the public structure. For about 2 bucks it wasn’t bad at all. The market has so many fresh and new places to eat. The tables are limited and it can get super packed. It reminds me of the OC Mix and the Packing District except its a bit smaller but I really like some of the places they have to offer. Overall theres just a very hipster friendly vibe to the whole place. Everyone comes through to have a good time and eat delicious food(albeit a bit pricey) but still very good. I’m a fan and will definitely continue to go when in the area.

If I had to pick this place vs the Packing District, I’d go for 4th Street since you can actually move around in here without getting irritated at masses of people. There’s also a great variety of food that can appease anyone in your group since you can get your meal, drinks(both alcoholic and non), snacks, and dessert here. My favorites include the Fried Chicken and Cornbread from PFC, the Shrimp and Chorizo Pan Roast from MAR, and although it’s spicy, it’s still delicious soup noodles from Noodle Tramp. There’s also a commercial kitchen space for rent. The organization that I volunteer for uses this space to cook organic food for our monthly homeless community events, so I think it’s great that the space is available for us to use.
