Clean restroom, parking is $ 4/hour, peaceful beach, plenty of shells, cool view of light house and pier, bonus viewing of huge bird nest with Mama or Daddy feeding the babies. Bring a bag for your haul of shells. There is a foot rinse off station. Great beach to take a nap and relax.

Just like almost everyone else visiting Sanibel Island, we were there to look for shells and enjoy the beach. The Island Lighthouse was a good place to park and take a short walk to the beach. The Beach is absolutely beautiful. There are lots of little shells here but nothing like I remember from years ago. Dolphis were active just off the beach. We enjoyed walking the beach, wading in the surf and shell hunting. Gorgeous!

It was cloudy but it drizzled a bit. Yet, this didn’t ruin our day. After it sprinkled a bit it was nice and sunny. There were plenty of people, but that’s our fault for being late and not finding a good spot. We thanked the rain for making some people scramble and got a spot. My suggestion is get here early if u want a good spot to set up. Overall. Nice!

Beautiful beach!!! Brought the family here one day during our Florida vacation to Fort Lauderdale. It was about 2.5 drive but soooooo worth it. The beach is covered in seashells so wear your shoes, you can get away with being barefoot, but be careful. The water was super warm since its on the Gulf side of Florida… a little murky, but not too bad. The waters were shallow and sand bars everywhere which my little girls loved since it gave them a chance to get a little farther into the water than normal. Also, the sea floor was COVERED with live sand dollars, hermit crabs, snails, sea urchins, clams… and the best… DOLPHINS! They like to play real close to shore. It’s really beautiful there. RESPECTTHEBEACHANDWILDLIFE! There were kids messing with sealife and parents allowing it. Teach your kids people!

This is a gorgeous area, great for just a leisurely day at the beach. It’s very peaceful with a beautiful landscape. Watching a sunset here would be an ideal setting, as the lighthouse is active and would make for a very memorable experience!

What a cool place for a nice romantic stroll or just bring the family. My only wish was to hike up to the Lighthouse, but it’s not open to the public. Don’t worry there’s lots to do. And it wouldn’t hurt to bring s basket and have beach side picnic– the best! Just so you know there’s a $ 2 or $ 3 parking fee.

Beautiful setting… got to see the gopher tortoise, dolphins and osprey feeding their young. The water was warm and clear. The tiny shells I was looking for were plentiful. If you wanted to fish, there were spots on the beach and on the pier but I was there to enjoy the beach. At night, the lighthouse light came on and that made it charming and great for pictures. This is definitely one of my favorite places to be!

Gorgeous beach. The water was clear and beautiful, the tide was low, and we actually saw dolphin swimming! The only downside is the noseeums. They are brutal!
