Wings on the Fly

We planned an afternoon of Belgium beers for appetizers and wings for dinner. While enjoying our Lambix, we learned that Wings on the Fly (our plans for dinner) was closing. We decided to give them a try anyway.
Long story short, the rumors were confirmed by the staff at Wings on the Fly. They will soon offer their food from a food truck, and the restaurant (very cool vintage architecture and decorations), will close the weekend of June 15^th.
I won’t comment on the service as it doesn’t matter now. I will comment on their food which was pretty good. The jerked wings were smoky, flavorful, and not salty. The tator tots were up a notch with the healthy sprinkling of black pepper. When you see their food truck, you must try their wings and tots.

I’m not a big wing connoisseur, but boy, these wings are good! I had the rum glazed ones. What great flavor these had! I dreamed about them last night! They have several other flavors, garlic parmesan, teriyaki, Jamaican Jerk, etc. I will be back to try the other flavors! Also ordered a basket of the tator tots. Cooked to perfection & a huge basketful to boot! They are directly attached to the bar next door, Fat Rats Lounge, so you can get a drink from Fat Rats & bring it to your table, or take your wings to Fat Rats & eat them there. The interior of this place was what really impressed me! Beautiful black & white tiled floor. Dark wood walls & ceiling. The tables are attached to the wall (cute little hooks to hang your purse!) & there’s stools to eat at a bar. No liquor. Ya gotta get your drinks at Fat Rats. Just a cool little place to go with friends to have some great wings! They also have burgers which I’m sure would be excellent!

I love this place… They have the best Jamaican Jerk I have ever had. They are clean and professional. I have never had a bad meal there. You can sit in the restaurant and have a meal or sit next door at Fat Rats Lounge and have a drink and food they will bring it over to you… the owner is very hands on and friendly You must check them out…

Great wings, burgers, and cheese steak subs! The staff is very friendly, the place clean as a whistle. Thy their under the sink tater tots when you need a pig out! The atmosphere is quiet. You can enjoy a great beer or cocktail at Fat Rat’s next door, a great Belgian draft at Buster’s Bistro or check out the weird vibe of little fish HUGE pond for a great beer, wine, or cider selection.

I’m a self-​described wing connesseur. I freaking love chicken wings. Simply put, I had the best wings I’ve ever ordered here.
They came out perfectly cooked — super crispy on the outside and juicy and succulent on the inside. The wings were tossed in just the right amount of sauce, which was delicious and certainly tasted house-​made. We got the hot garlic and the garlic parmesean. We also got an order of fries, which were exceptional.
The restaurant is attached to a bar, so you can order the wings and go sit at the bar and grab a beer while you wait for the wings to be brought over to you.

Very good burgers, especially after a few tasty Belgian ales next dor.

Everything I’ve had here has been awesome. Truly a hidden gem that needs more exposure. Quick, delicious food!

This place seriously has the best wings I’ve ever had. The aesthetic of the place is awesome, it’s connected to a bar with a pool table room in between, all decked out like it’s the 1930’s. The owner was very nice and gave great conversation. I’m not even a wing guy and I was absolutely blown away.
