Steak ‘n Shake

The food is good but you’ll have to wait 1 hour 30 minutes to get it. Parking wasn’t that bad basically what you’ll expect out of an average restaurant and the waiters/​waitresses won’t pay attention to you. And the worst part one time I found a hair in my food which was disgusting. Otherwise I’d eat here if I was going out with friends or family this is based on all of my experiences I’ve been there many times because my family seems to love this restaurant.

We went in on an extremely busy night right after what we assumed was homecoming. Got advised by the hostess to seat ourselves at the bar so we would get better service since there were apparently only two waitresses covering the whole place at the moment.
Sat down, and I’m pretty sure it was the manager who was tending to us. She was extremely nice, hospitable, and attentive. Our order was up in not too long and the food was great. Salt n Vinegar fries are delicious is you are actually a vinegar lover, otherwise it may be too strong for you. Anything that has the garlic sauce or garlic mayo is delicious (I had the Portabello Swiss burger).
Food was great and service was great for us. The manager seemed like a responsible woman, so hopefully she can improve upon the complaints of the other reviews (but the place didn’t seem too dirty from what I saw).

This place absolutely SUCKS! If you are expecting good service don’t come here. If you are looking for hospitality, again do not come here. None of the employees smile, they ALL look miserable. If you hate your job, move on to the next. If you are in a hurry, don’t come here, they are soooooo slow. This place is a bit ridiculous.

First of all the kitchen is dirty beyond belief. The floor looks like it hasn’t been cleaned well in months. Under the booths is garbage and dirt. The service is terrible. The waitresses looked tired and overworked, but were unprofessional. While we were waiting to be served I spotted a waitress standing on her phone. We waited 35 minutes just to get water. Finally got our orders taken, and then waited another 30 minutes with no contact to our waitress. They brought our salads, but no silver wear. Took another 15 minutes to get silver wear. Then 20 minutes after that our burgers came out. It actually took longer to eat food here than it did at cedar point to ride millennium force. It was a total time of about an hour and half before we had all our food. The food was bland and not good at all. Fries were soggy, and the burger had no flavor. Now on top of all this every person in our group woke up throwing up the next day. This was the only food we all had in common for the day. We all most definitely had food poisoning from this place. It cost us another day at cedar point because we were all sick. This place needs a visit from the steak and shake HQ or the health department.

Service was absolutely awful. If there was zero stars they would get that. We walked in and waited 30 min just to get water. We sat there forever and neither of the 2 waitresses acknowledged us. (They had to close because they were so understaffed. Only 2 waitresses, 2 cooks, and a manager from a different location.) Plus, an hour and 15 min in some people came in who had been waiting in the drive through for 45 min and were immediately served, even though we had been there longer. In the end we ended up waiting an hour and a half for crappy quality food. Definitely will not be returning ever again

I’ve never had worse service in my life. Waited 20 minutes to get seated while there were plenty of dirty empty tables, and I waited at the register for 10 minutes for someone to take the money they didn’t deserve anyways. All the servers tried to get out of doing the extras by not making eye contact. I could drive to the one in Toledo and probably make it back home faster than eating at this one.

If I could give 0 stars for this establishment on Unilocal,I would. My family and I sat for 30 minutes before our food was brought to us and a couple of minutes later we were finally given our shakes. It was also the case that people who arrived after we did, with the same number of people in their party, were served quicker than us. Excuses were made for the slow service, no manager was in sight and the staff appeared clueless.

Sub-​par service. One meal came 20 minutes before the other 3 and our server all but disappeared until it came time to get the bill. Ended up tipping another server whom came to our table more than our assigned waitress. Usually love Steak ‘N Shakes but will certainly avoid this particular one in the future.

I’ve had such bad times at steak and shakes not sure why I keep going back. Stood at the entrance watching waitresses walk by us for 3 minutes. Finally seated and got drink order taken. My friends shake didn’t come out until ¹⁵⁄₂₀ minutes later when we got our food and it was the wrong shake anyway but we ate it since didn’t want to wait anymore.
Ordered chicken strips and fries and a vegetable soup. The soup didn’t come out until after our meal and the chicken strips were so small, not like they usually are from there. My friends food was fine as well.

Service was good but food is not. Greasy. But that’s to be expected. It’s also pretty dirty in here. My one star goes to Curtis the waiter.

Steak and shake has always been a place I go to with friends. Weather it is a late night snack or an afternoon lunch with the gang. It’s always a great place to go. Great pieces cheap burgers and don’t get me started on their amazing milkshakes. Don’t get me wrong I love the great priced burgers and fries those long tasty ones yea you know what I’m talking about. But their milkshakes their signature milkshakes of different flavors and make your taste buds go nuts. Also another thing to mention is their service. Their service is legendary we went there tonight and the place was packed. We are able to get or favorite table by the window and we ordered food and drinks and it came out so fast and the food was so tasty. So it’s also open 24 hours so you can go at any hour of the day and get a milkshake and a burger how about that for a fast food place.

How I missed Steak N Shake. This particular location is clean and offers great service.
If you have NEVER been to steak n shake, stop by! Their milkshakes are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Thick, full of flavor, BIG and CHEAP!
Their burgers are pretty good and their special sauce is delicious as well. Did I also mention juicy chicken? I normally look for non-​chain places to eat, but I ALWAYS seek out Steak n shake if I’m travelling.

Hard not to like anything here. They definitely have something for everyone. I try to hit a Steak N Shake every time in the south or midwest. Wish they had them in California.

So this was my first time eating at a Steak N Shake. I ordered a burger, fries and shake given the diner’s namesake. I was not let down. The shake was great and the food was on point for a diner burger.

Who doesn’t love a Steak and Shake. Service was good and food is decent. Amazing shakes. It is located right outside of the Great Wolf Lodge and certainly beat the prices of the restaurants in the Lodge. Plus who can complain when kids eat free on weekends.

Not a bad choice before your fun day at cedar point.
My roommate thought it was «awesome, so good, the food was delicious.» This is probably a result of him missing the last exit for food, so we ate lunch about an hour later than we intended.
This steak n shake isn’t too much different from other ones I’ve been to. They had great service even though they were pretty busy. I had the guacamole steak burger, but wasn’t super impressed with it. Really meager amount of guacamole.
They have oreo ice cream sandwiches which are nice and about $ 1.

This is one of my favorite fast food chains in the states. It’s a classic 50’s diner with a large variety of deliciously thick milkshakes, and tasty ground steak hamburgers. But my absolute favorite thing here is the cheese sauce.
On my most recent trip I had the cheesy cheddar burger with fries and a side of cheese sauce. It was the perfect amount of food, and while I generally don’t like shoe string fries, these are great. So much cheese on the burger and fresh vegetables to top it off.
I’ve been to this location a number of times. The service is fast and friendly — often chatting you up about your day etc. and not in a way that seems forced. I took a star off b/​c while he did it in a friendly way, the manager wouldn’t let me buy a can of their cheese sauce to take home! lol

We go here once and a while and have always had great service and great food.
Usually get a shake to go with us.
Not much to say except good all the way around.

A nice break from the usual fast food grind. The «steak» burgers are kinda skimpy, so consider overdoing your order. The shakes are quite good. The biggest plus is the very late drive-​thru hours here in a county that rolls up the sidewalks pretty early.
