Went for late lunch/early dinner, thankfully the chef was ready for early diners, otherwise we may have missed this gem. Ordered steamers, pork chop, caesar salad, and finally the best Key Lime Pie we have ever had. Each of us was thrilled with our dinner. We must compliment the chef and staff. This is the one dining experience of an entire vacation that stands out as culinary genius. Thank you!

Absolutely incredible food and service! I visit Sandpoint a couple of times a year, and this was my first time eating at Baxters on Cedar. It will definitely not be my last! The entire staff were friendly and responsive. They did an excellent job of making us feel served and welcomed. We ordered the chicken, meatloaf sliders, and the pear and brie bruschetta. It was all so delicious, I honestly do not think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. And of course, after reading about how amazing the key lime pie is, we had to try it. Like everything else about Baxters on Cedar, it was delicious. If you have room(or even if you don’t!) you should give the pie a try. It is really that good.

Quite possibly the best pork chop I’ve ever had. Didn’t know what to expect, but completely blown away.

Delicious food, unique fresh urban fare, good wine selection, quiet relaxed atmosphere right around corner downtown Sandpoint, something Yummy for everyone. Duck Confit with creamy risotto & portobello mushrooms omg… Excellent service! Thank you so much Tommy and Rich for a memorable eve.

Nice little spot, but the food is mediocre at best. Portions are small and they try to be too cute with their food. I have NO idea what the others are drinking or smoking that results in 4 and 5 star reviews. Unless of course, they completely changed their menu and got a new chef. We stopped going there 6 months ago…3 strikes and we were out!

We really enjoyed Baxters. Excellent food and terrific service. Definitely recommend it. We were driving through Sandpoint ID and had asked a few people where to go. Everyone recommended this place. One of the co-owners, Rich, is very nice and told us that he and a painter opened up the restaurant 3 years ago. They are working hard and their efforts are paying off. Ask for Maya as your wait person. She is very professional and knowledgeable about the wines and menu. She was nice enough to take he time to make some recommendations about where to hike the next day.

We were sooo pleasantly surprised to find this place! Been twice and both times were SPOTON! Not to be missed. Lamb Sliders, their mussels, their pork specials are phenom, honestly literally everything we have had has been perfect.

Had a lovely meal at Baxter on Cedar. The crab cakes were amazing with a citrus aioli and the meat loaf was great with mashed potatoes and gravy! We would come back again! Especially for the key lime pie and very friendly service…

I hit this place after having some great ale at Mickduffs Brewery and the food was fantastic. My buddy and I both had the portobello burger with fries and the Space Needle ale. It was so gourmet and filling! We both recommend this place to anyone!

The owner is at the place every night. Super rad dude. Was in town for 6 days on business and ate there 3 times. EVERYTHINGONTHEMENUISDELICIOUS. First night– prime rib. Rare and it was bloody perfect. Next night the most perfect pork or lamb chops– I can’t remember, but either way, to die for. Literally. I’ve been going there with some vegetarians who I love and respect and they’ve been getting a grilled portobello burger. So the last night, I had to eat two, because they were too good not too! I’m serious. Our brains don’t have the capacity to understand the goodness capable from those portobello burgers, until you experience it for yourself. This is coming from someone who loves delicious meat in his mouth. To top it off they have the best key lime pie. So good it’s got a money back guarantee. I took this seriously, so I called the owner over to make eye contact with me while I took the first bite. Needless to say, it was so dam good it puts the local beavers to shame. Sorry for the grammar.

Omg!!! Another awesome meal at Baxters on Cedar! I’m telling you, you are missing out if you visit Sandpoint and don’t stop in here for lunch or dinner. Service is as great as the food, the atmosphere warm and inviting and they play music you want to hear while dining. We will go back every time we are in the area!!!

Wow! Hubby and I were looking for a nice place to eat on our way up to Schweitzer. This food was clearly fresh and made from scratch. I got the lobster(it was a special) that was not only delicious but the least I’ve ever paid for it. Hubby got the lamb shops and at one point I thought I was sitting across from Meg Ryan. Needless to say we were impressed and very full! The owner came and chatted with us and we told him next time we were there we want to try the key lime pie. Later he sent us over a little taste. Unreal. Truly! Don’t miss this place!

Visiting friends in Idaho this weekend and was led to Baxter’s — named affectionately for the owners dog. The food tasted like love, the latte like heaven and the environment like a comfortable nook. This may be too poetic when describing a place to eat — but this is sincerely how it felt when ordering, eating and enjoying. I ate the meatloaf sand which on the softest ciabatta roll I’ve ever had, and the Caesar salad dressed perfectly with a light home made taste… But this was nothing to the key lime pie. This is 10 stars!

Ambiance is nice, but very overpriced and we left hungry. I can see why the place was nearly empty when we entered. If the prices were lowered by $ 2 per dish and they added more food to each dish, it would be way better! The waiter is delightful!

So you’d think these guys at Baxters couldn’t possibly meet your expectations after a previous perfect experience – well, think again – they so exceeded those expectations again!!! First – let’s talk appetizers – the raw shrimp – nicely served with a homemade cocktail sauce and the perfect portion for two to share… My buddy had the pork chop dinner. Coffee-rubbed to perfection and to quote – «the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth» complimented with a crunchy ginger chutney. Add to that –creamy buttermilk mashed potatos and grilled asparagas –and before he’d even finished, he’s waving down the owner Tommy to rave about«the single best pork chop I’ve ever had». He’s from DC – the other WA – and was smiling at the quality of service, the atmosphere, and a near perfect dining experience. My entrée was equally tasty – how about tender, juicy parmesan chicken in a basil cream sauce? So dang amazing I’m still tongue tied with satiated taste buds. Complemented with more of them heavenly mashed taters, the perfect basil creamy gravy, and oh yeah that grilled asparagas. To heaven I went. The bill for all this? Can you believe under 50 bucks?

What a great place in Sandpoint! A beautiful old building with exposed brick, but that’s only the beginning! Great food for lunch; the sandwiches and salads sound like what you’d expect, but the salad dressings are surprising as is the other dishes like cioppino. That’s what we chose and it was awesome! For dessert we tried the house made key lime pie with a REALGRAHAMCRACKER crust and candied lime zest… WOWCAN I GET A PINTOTTHATTOGO? Dinner looks amazing too with steaks and even a roast ½ duck. The sides are appropriate and the prices are better than you’d expect in a resort town. They just started offering a Sunday Brunch that looks great with yummy things like Pork Belly gravy over biscuits, Eggs Benedict and Waffles with Fried Chicken! We’re going back tomorrow for sure! The bar is nice with local brews on tap and bottled beer too. The wine selections are good. Service is great and they go out of their way to give you a great dining experience. They also have a space for private dining that will be an overflow area as necessary. If you’re in Sandpoint you shouldn’t miss this gem.
