Amazing fish fry, delicious, hot– real homemade fresh cut frys… the baked fish was delicious, too. Friendly staff and super quick service.

In town to visit and sister took me here for breakfast. Except we just missed breakfast. So the lunch menu it was. The split pea soup was hearty. It was loaded with ham and carrots and potatoes. The pea soup base was flavorful. As for hunk of French bread and you have yourself a meal. Had I know the soup would be so filling, I would not have ordered the meat loaf and mashed potato sandwich. But I’m glad I did. The meatloaf was moist and perfectly seasoned. And they didn’t kill it with onions. Potatoes and gravy… hard to get that wrong but homemade and lovely. I want a Tina’s in Washington, D.C.

Its sad I live in Sanborn and I haven’t been to this place in like 8 or 9 years or something like that. Oh well, what are you gonna do? Anyways this place is one of like three local nonchain restaurants total in Sanborn with the others being Sanborn Village Pizza and Schimshack’s(Sanborn’s fine dining with a view). The place actually really has that local small town diner feel to it. You walk in and seat yourself either at a table or on a stool at the counter. I went here earlier today because I was craving a Friday fish fry during Lent and wanted someplace very close to home. Today they had either cod or perch to choose from for the fish fry and I’m not sure if that changes every week. I went with the beer battered cod and a side of their hand cut fresh fries and apple sauce. They are really fast here and the food came out in like five minutes. The fish fry was great and right up there with others I’ve had in the Buffalo area. The fresh cut fries were good too. Prices are average but make sure you have cash because they do not accept credit or debit. Very no frills and a bit cramped inside but its truly a local institition that I’m sure will be feeding Sanborn for many years to come.

Very small place that is CASHONLY, and that’s fine as long as you go there knowing that ahead of time. Very fast and friendly wait staff. I’ve only been there for breakfast and I’ve never been disappointed. Diner-type feel to the room that’s a little small but cozy. They make a strong effort to support local military personnel that have been deployed which is amazing. I love supporting local businesses like this.
