5 stars for delicious food! We had the chicken shawarma and the Kafta sandwiches which both came with fries, we also shared the tabouli side which was perfect for 2. The sandwiches were big enough to cut in half and share allowing us tasting both orders. Really good flavors for all the food we had. Both my brother and I walked away fully satisfied and willing to come back soon for more!

Had lunch on Saturday with the family. What a great spot. Everything tasted great. We tried gyro, chicken wrap and beef wrap. Side of hummus and spicy potatoes. Food tasted fresh and was actually very good. We will definitely frequent this place.

Came here on a Friday night with plenty of friends. The food was seriously amazing! We all ordered sandwiches that came with yummy fries. We have to have someone move tables for our group but everyone had a seat and killer food. Great place for dine in or take out

The food is really good! And the garlic sauce they give you is amazing! Perfect place for lunch or dinner! And the service is great and quick. The wide variety on the menu is such a plus! And the baklava is a must! The only downside is that it’s a little expensive, but the food is something you just can’t miss!

Really good place. Really good and fresh Mediterranean place. FINALLY a really good, fresh, friendly, and tasty Mediterranean place in San Ramon. In the 2+ years living in San Ramon, we noticed there was a lack of good food, correction, good ethnic food. That is until we tried Shish Grill tonight. We ordered the hummus beef shwarma, Kafta, and lentil soup. Our meals were accompanied by a very delicious rice pilaf. The lentil soup was more on the creamier, blended lentil soup, so don’t expect lentil beans in it; it was … yup, you guessed it… delicious nonetheless. It had flavors almost reminiscent of tortilla soup… but just in the seasoning. Everything was flavorful. Everything tasted fresh. Everything was delicious. Customer service was very friendly and polite. Every request was met with pleasantries and satisfaction. I met the owner this evening as we were leaving to compliment the food and the overall experience. They’ve been there 11 months and I sincerely hope they’re a permanent fixture in San Ramon because this place is really good.

I haven’t tried everything here but what I had was awesome. There’s a chicken kebab sandwich that we just love. But my favorite thing is the hummus. It’s is so smooth and yummy and creamy. I mean really creamy. I highly recommend it. The baklava was Delish too and wasn’t smothered with syrup or honey like some places put on it. The gyro was very yummy and so are the platters. The place seems family owned. I have usually been taken care of by very polite and handsome young men.

The team was hungry but not wanting full dinners. We went appetizer crazy at this place – baba ganoush, grape leaves, fatoush salad, kibbeh. It was all really delicious! The grape leaves were just incredible. I would suggest getting a side of garlic sauce if you love garlic and have no dates in the near future! Really delicious!

I came here with my old nom buddy after unpacking my boxes in my new office. In short, it’s a bit overpriced, but not unexpected for this area, and the food is a flavor Mediterranean treat in an oasis of mediocreness. The place is located near the Marketplace, basically where Orchards used to be and it took over the location of Yanagi 2. There’s not much space in there, but it can seat a good amount of people. There’s basically two main menu items, entrees and sandwiches. Then it’s meat choice past that point from shish tawook which is a chicken kabob, kafta which is a lamb & beef ground together, gyro, falafel, etc. I asked the person at the register which was their top seller. He was like #1, 2, and 4. I went with #1 which was the shish tawook entrée. It came out to basically $ 15 including tax. Uff, stiff pricing. The food came out pretty quickly! With the entrée you have a choice of salad or soup of the day, I got the salad which was good! My friend got the soup and he said it was pretty good so you can’t go wrong either way. There’s a rice pilaf which was light and fluffy and there was also a garlicky yogurt sauce which was divine. It went well with everything. The chicken itself wasn’t dry and very moist. Besides the pricing, it was a pretty solid meal. I was content and I had food to bring back home. I’ll definitely be back to try out the gyro as it’s one of my favorites to try at every Mediterranean place.

I’ve just recently become a huge fan of Shish places and I thought I had to give this place a try since all of my friends recommended it! When I first got to the location, I saw it was what used to be Kilohana Grill! The décor is nothing special and the restaurant is owned by a nice Lebanese family. I ordered the Spicy Chicken plate with soup in stead of salad because I do not like salad and the salad tends to take up the whole plate if you do get it. Oh my god it was so spicy but SOGOOD. The service here was also very friendly!

I’ve ordered from this restaurant a few times and I love their food. fresh and delicious. My favorite is the vegetarian plate and the barley soup is amazing. The customer service is great. I love that it’s family owned and I totally support small businesses in my neighborhood. The last time I ordered out from the restaurant, the food just didn’t seem right. It was cold and not what I was used to so I called and spoke to a woman named Nancy. She apologized and replaced my order for free. She also thanked me for letting her know explaining that she had someone new working there and appreciated the feedback. I didn’t call to get a free meal but I did also appreciate that she went out of her way to make the customer happy. When I did order again everything was pleasant as before the hiccup. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon!

I traveled over 20 miles each way for this place, and I will continue to do so. The food is simply one of the best I have ever hand in the realm of Shawarma(both lamb and chicken), and Kufta. The staff is supper friendly, even though the kid at the counter can mess up your order every now and again, but I think he’s learning. Plus who cares when you have quality of food of that kind. I was there a few days and got BOTH the lamb and the chicken Shawarma. They were both great tasting and WHOLE.(one major issues for these wraps is that they can become very soggy. but not here). The lady cook(maybe the owner — not sure) is also really nice and helpful. ’till next time Shish :-D

First time here — I was looking for something different for lunch(not a sandwich, salad or chipotle) and stumbled on Shish Grill. It’s next to OSH, in the corner, a relatively small place. You order at the front from a menu with a variety of entrees(plates of meat, rice etc), sandwiches, salads and appetizers. I got the gyro wrap. It comes with pickles and lettuce which is super strange for a gyro and kind of a bummer. The gyro was basically like a Taco Bell grilled stuft burrito in that it was rolled and grilled(also strange for a gyro). The fries were good and crispy though! The gyro itself was okay. Nothing special and honestly you can get a way better one at Fat Maddies. The service was okay. The food came out quick but the tables were dirty and the cashier seemed annoyed, Essentially, I’m not impressed and not likely to return.

When Shish Grill first opened my wife and I rushed to try the new Lebanese restaurant located just outside the Market Place shopping center in San Ramon. On our first try it was a mess. The owner was so nice and gracious in her efforts that we wanted to come back after they had worked out their new opening blues. So, last night we went back for dinner. There was one table of 4 and one table of 1 besides us during the prime dinner hour of 7 — 8 pm. First off the food is good. The lentil soup is excellent ! The Baba Ghanouj is one of the best I have ever had creamy, smokey, and just the right amount of tartness. The Chicken Kabobs are the better of the meat entrees. Tiny portions on grilled meats. Shish Grill has made upgrades from the first visit such as having real utensils as opposed to the cheapo plastic knives and spoons. However, there is a real disconnect on what type of restaurant they really want to be. The price point at $ 16 for the combo kabob plate served menalomi plates is expensive. see pics. A fast food concept with limited service the price is very high even with the limited middle eastern restaurants in the Tri Valley. With the limited service, ambiance, menu price vs value I think there is room for changes.

Decided to try out Shish Grill today, overall I was pleased with my experience, I give a 3.75 ranking, here is more info: — Located 2 blocks south of Bollinger Canyon Road, on Market Pl & on the corner of a strip mall south of Residence Inn hotel. Walked in at lunch time today and explored the menu. I was going to order my fav which is chicken Shawarma but did not see the large rotating skewer so I hesitated. Instead selected the entrée of Kofta Kabob(lamb & beef) minced together. And sides of rice & salad. There was one person taking the order and I can see in the back the cooks working away. I could not smell anything cooking so that says the kitchen is well ventilated. When the order was taken he asked for my name, and my name appeared on the delivery receipt. I like that vs. numbers being yelled out as in other restaurants, it’s more personable, good job! Alas, my late finally arrived! But I thought, where is the rest? Lol. I had one long & thin kabob on a bed of yellow rice and small salad on the side. The Kofta kabob was cooked perfectly and delicious, well done! However the rice & salad were both meh, tasteless, and the portion was small considering a $ 15 sticker price. So a bit of room for improvement going forward in terms of portion size, and flavor for rice and salad. Otherwise nice place for a quick meal.

Shish Grill… Name literally made me do a double-take… Peripheral when cutting through Market Place initially saw«Sushi» Grill which damn-near made my heart skip-a-beat… After swinging into the lot, the letters magically rearranged themselves into«Shish» & the cartoon kabob/skewer plastered on the front of the building now painted a much clearer picture… Made a bit more sense now considering«Sushi» & «Grill» were a bit of an oxymoron anyway… Despite the temporary bout of dyslexia, I was ECSTATIC to see a Mediterranean spot open up in San Ramon… Bookmarked on Sunday & swung by that following Tuesday… Shish Grill is advertised as a Mediterranean Restaurant serving authentic Lebanese Cuisine… First time visit & I opted for both the #11, Spicy Chicken(dubbed, «Chef’s Favorite») w/rice & salad(included) & a #12, Lavash Wrap… Plucked from the Menu: 11. Spicy Chicken: Chef’s Favorite! Chicken breasts cubes, stir-fried with onions, bell peppers, roasted garlic and own shish grill hot sauces, served with Shish specialty garlic sauce. 12. Lavash Wrap: A mixture of ground beef and lamb, spread on pita bread, topped with onions, tomatoes, and parsley and Shish specialty garlic sauce… Descriptions alone were enough to narrow down my selections, though helpful Unilocaler’s also posted pics which made my decision even easier… Order was placed To-Go over the phone & I showed up about 15 minutes prior to their advertised closing time @ around 7:45PM. Chef(I’m assuming the owner?) was at the grill along w/another employee assisting who also manned the register. Though it was close to closing, there were folks at the tables & others trailing in behind me(definitely a good sign). I was also immediately greeted with a smile & told my order was being bagged up… To the right of the register was a mini fridge with a handful of drinks, including«Chabaa» Mango Nectar(Does Mr. Loverman, circa 1992 ring a bell, or is it just me?) which I grabbed as an impulse buy… Arrived at the house to unwrap the beautifully presented dishes… Snapped a few pics(hands trembling in anticipation) & immediately dug-in, beginning w/the Lavash wraps. They tasted JUSTASGOOD as they looked. Pita bread was fresh w/a grilled/crispy exterior(basically, everything a Panini wished it was, but wasn’t)… To quote«Chitty Chitty Bang Bang», Truly Scrumptious… Though the dish is served w/rice by default, I requested to sub-fries(lightly seasoned, piping hot &CRISPY)… Though I had the #12 to myself, I STILL had this enormous plate of Spicy Chicken also calling my name… The Lavash Wraps I treated as an appetizer(ate 3 slivers), then moved on to the«Chef’s Favorite…» Once again, beautiful presentation… Chicken breast pieces were very well prepared/seasoned along w/the roasted veggies, all having a wonderful texture(seasoned in a way that they could’ve been eaten solely on their own), sitting atop a pillowy bed of rice… Washed all of this down with the Chabaa Mango Nectar(totally dug the bits of fruit) +(of course), a baklava for dessert being the icing on the cake… I’m in food coma this very moment, but couldn’t wait to put my experience to paper… New spot(opened about a month or so as of this review), yet they’ve done EVERYTHING Right(Service/Quality/Value)… If they managed to make to-go items look/taste this good, I can’t wait for my next sit-down visit… A much needed addition to San Ramon & looking very much forward to becoming a «Regular…»

Lebanese cuisine has landed in San Ramon! Located near the Market Place, it was convenient for me to try their dinner takeout since I just got a haircut at Sports Clip. The restaurant is pretty casual. Their menu has rice plates, sandwiches, and appetizers. Most dishes were $ 12 or less, except if you go after the combos or get the grilled lamb. I got the #1 grilled chicken and #2 grilled lamb. Both came with this yellow, lemony rice that was really tasty — it had a little oil for added smoothness. Lamb had some chew but had a nice char-grilled flavor. Chicken cooked well and not overly dry. The garlic mayo sauce was included on the side — it paired better with the lamb I thought. The combos also come with a choice of salad or soup. I highly recommend the soup, which is like a light lentil soup. Will likely come back to try their other offerings. Portion sizes are moderate — not really huge but reasonable given the quality.
