An awesome open space if you live in the neighborhood. I can’t imagine why anyone would go there otherwise. I happen to live in the neighborhood and spend a large amount of time racing my mountain bike up and down the hills and across the ridge in HVOS. There are bathrooms at the Tassajara Ridge Staging Area(water too), but this place can be gnarly in the heat — no shade and sky high temps that make the ground crack open as if it’s going to eat you alive! Sweeping views are excellent — especially at sunrise/sunset or before a storm(you can see clouds rolling in across Mt. Diablo. 3.5 stars… only if you live nearby and use the space to run, hike and bike. Beware of cows — don’t mess with them or they will charge after you!

Went on a hike with Greenbelt Alliance starting at Longleaf Circle, San Ramon at the 2nd hiker’s gate. Hidden Valley Open Space is maintained by the City of San Ramon. No bathrooms, no water, street parking in the residential area. If you need bathrooms or water you can go to Hidden Valley Park nearby to get it. We did about 5 mi total w/some elevation gain, but mostly easy. You can see 3 Overlooks — we only saw 2, too lazy for the 3rd I don’t know. Tassajara Valley Vistas, Mt. Diablo, etc. Don’t go on a hot day because there is No Shade, all in the open. Maybe worth going if in the Dublin, San Ramon area, not so much if coming from Fremont. Website:
