Steven Restivo Event Services

Steven Restivo is unprofessional in his correspondence and very rude with those trying to get involved in events he is coordinating. I represent a very predominant nonprofit organization that, for the sake of increasing community outreach, wanted to host an informational booth and provide services to a large community event that Steven Restivo was promoting. His email correspondence with me regarding the event was short and rude. He refused to wave the expensive non-​profit booth fee for our organization, despite the fact that we would have been a fantastic presence to have at this event. Non-​profit organizations should not have to pay to have an informational booth at ANY event, this is ridiculous. At a COMMUNITY EVENT, community nonprofits should be encouraged to attend, not told that they must pay an unfordable fee.
I agree with the last review that this man only cares about money and not the success of the event in the community. DO NOT HIRE HIM.
And I cannot reiterate enough how RUDE and unprofessional his email correspondance was with me. I was very polite and doing outreach on behalf of a national organization, he should have at least made an effort to be polite.

Steven Restivo is all about the money and does not give a hoot about any of the neighborhoods where he coordinates his events. He’s a grab and run expert! Time and again, he drops the ball when it comes to follow-​through, customer service and accountability. I saw his gestapo tactics last year at the North Beach Festival and also at the Union Street event. If you ask for something he leads with «no» and he has his drones doing the same exact thing. Stay clear of him if you can – either as a vendor or as a customer.

Specifically re: the San Rafael Art & Wine
Sent 2 emails about the event we (over)paid for having NO food though we paid $ 25 per person for food and wine. 80% of vendors were out of samples within 2 hours of doors opening. It was almost as bad as a Unilocal event (except those are free). Not ok. My guests were not impressed either. We went to a nice early dinner but the intention obviously was to eat/​drink at the event we paid for.
The staff passed along Steve’s card with his info, but his voice mail is full. There were several other patrons pretty irritated too. We weren’t being unreasonable. I asked the gal at the front if they were going to stop selling food tickets since there wasn’t any. She replied, «Yes, we had to, people are pissed.»
So Steve & co have been unresponsive to emails and it’s been almost a week.
I don’t care what kind of events you have under your belt. Your inability to reply to the patrons that attend your events is unacceptable.
Passing copies of my email to the the Downtown association, I’m sure they’ll love to know that people who were coming to their city were mislead and then disrespected to boot.
Dodging client complaints isn’t good for business. It’s how you handle those types of situations that sets you apart & ideally sets you above but not in this case.
Just sayin’ because freedom of speech paired with Unilocal allows me to.
