Panda Express

Terrible! Slow! 2 people working. No one acknowledges or apologizes for the wait. Jennica was asking for tips and never once made eye contact as she snatched my debit card. I will not be back. The food was adequate, slightly cold but I was starving.

I have tried this place twice. The first time, I ordered my food with my son around lunch time. There was barely any food out and they told me it would be 15 minutes to get what I wanted. I told them that was fine so I paid and waited for our food. 40 minutes go by and we still haven’t gotten our food but people from the lunch rush we’re walking in and getting their food right off the bat. I walked up to the cashier and was kept being told that my food was coming. So I waited 15 more minutes and still got nothing. I walked back up there and very sternly asked for my food. Apparently my son and I’s order got missed placed and by the time that they were able to find our plates we had to wait some more for them to make new food, due to the lunch rush cleaning them out again. The second time, I went to the restroom with my son. When I walked out and employee shoved me aside to use the bathroom. I wasn’t even out of the doorway for her to even enter the bathroom. What made me more upset was that was I had my six-​year-​old son with me and I was 9 ½ months pregnant. When I went to order my food the lady at the front, who was the lady who pushed me aside for the bathroom, asked me if the man behind me was with me. I told her no. She asked if the plates in front of me were mine, I said yes. Then she repeatedly asked me if the man behind me was with me. I had to say no three times in order for her to ring up my son and I’s food. To make things even worse was the «man» that was behind me was actually an elder woman. I found my cashiers attitude to be very rude and wasn’t quite listening to anything I was telling her. It has been a very frustrating visit both times, and I don’t plan on going back even if I had the whole patience of the entire world. It still wouldn’t be enough. I only give this place 2 stars because the food tasted relatively decent.

Waaaaay too many onions in the chow mien. My girlfriend said the broccoli and beef was a little off too. Even found an entire uncut piece of bok choy in my chow mein. Needs improvement but other than that it was fine.

Not bad, fairly new, you get typical Panda Express. I come here often and it seems like most of the employees are friendly and quick.

Great place for quick authentic American Chinese food.

Food was just ok compared to other Panda Express. Orange chicken was dry. Beijing beef was ok. Nothing more to say. Service was fast since place was not crowded

Slow service. If they are out of an entrée, be ready to wait and be forgotten.

If you want a quick bite to eat DO NOT COME HERE! Massively understaffed and the staff they have are completely confused, slow and untrained.

I come here all the time when I want something quick and do not feel like cooking. I’m always satisfied and that’s why I keep coming back. The staff is nice too, and there have only been rare occasions in which I feel like the cashier hasn’t been completely attentive.
I tend to find it only slow during lunch hours (like almost all places) and if this place is considered slow then chipotle next door would have bad reviews as well. The lines are expected when the food is that good.

My kids love this place and their chicken but serving size is always unpredictable, sometime more food and sometime less.

Occasionally I want a lunch that’s a departure from the super healthy way I eat and usually Panda Express checks all my boxes. This is the first time I’ve had lunch at this venue and it’ll be my last!
The service people at the counter were confused, and at 11:45 they were already waiting on refills while customers queued. My plate was served but held up at the cashier station. By the time I was seated the food was cold, and when fried shrimp are cold they get greasy. The fresh vegetables weren’t fresh, and they were cold too. The chicken on my third dish didn’t taste fresh enough so I didn’t even eat it. And to add insult to injury, there was no fortune in my cookie!
I hate throwing food away, but this wasn’t worth eating. Pass on this place and go next door to Chipotle.

Let me just say upfront that the food is worth 3 stars at best. Not terrible, not excellent, but edible and satisfying. However, I’m giving Panda Express 5 stars because of the exceptional service from one of the counter servers. Lung is her name and honestly, I don’t know how she manages the obviously demanding job of serving numbers of people a day their food without even a whiff of annoyance or impatience. Anyway, she will go far in life but for now, all who are lucky enough to have her wait on them will walk away feeling just a little bit better about the day and about the food at Panda Express.

This place is going downhill. It used to have great employees, plenty of food, and good portions. Now it is understaffed, takes forever, always out of food in the display, or just completely out of it (no more to cook), and they get skimpy on their portions. All this being said I go here probably 3 – 5 times a month. (And I’ve never gotten sick)

Always slow service. Seem to not have enough people working here. The people working mean well but not enough of them possibly.

Do not go to this panda express!
The line was super long even though they had 4 employees working the serving line. Also, they’re all deaf or something because we had to repeat our order at least 5x to two different people.
We were waiting for honey walnut shrimp which Rahul, the Indian worker who was probably new, told us that it would take 3 minutes. 10 minutes later, another employee asked us if we would like to pay while we waited.
We asked if there was anyway he could give us a discount to accomodate the delay. He asked the cook again and said another 3 minutes. The employee asked us again if we’d like to pay and just stared at us. We decided to walk about because the employees were inexperienced and rude.
I’ve only been to this Panda Express 2 other times in the year that I’ve lived in San Rafael. I guess I needed another reason to never stop coming here again.

Regardless of other negative reviewers I commend Jennifer that works there because she remembered me when I went there and didn’t even need to order for my special order because of my condition, Myelitis. Riza and Jerry (I believe) worked very hard even during the time they were short handed. Customer service was excellent, they kept their posture even during hard times. This is my opinion.

I’m giving this 5 stars because of the service that I got from the staff. The server was helpful and suggested the chicken kale dish (which was delicious). But it was the enthusiasm and attention to detail that Benny demonstrated that leads me to review today. I mentioned that the fire was sticky and he apologized and said that they’d get on that. Then, while I was enjoying my lunch, Benny helped some tourists from Japan and treated them with the same respect and attention they’d get if they were at a five star restaurant. I’d hire that guy in a second.

Great Saturday lunch. Love the calorie counter! Had steamed vegetables, chicken w string beans, and broccoli beef. Each was about 130 calories, very tasty! Nice décor and excellent service. Love Panda!

Delicious, friendly, clean, and it was great

I like Panda but only frequent their restaurants rarely. This new one opened so we tried it. I enjoyed a typical Panda experience, but the food at this one seems especially fresh and well prepared.
Staff is minimal. I observed the SAME lady that plated my food only seconds ago, bussing the tables and sweeping. When a customer came, she stopped bussing to go back to front in line food server. Strange I thought.
I recommend the Angus steak entrée. it’s a little spicey, but very tender and delicious. They mix the steak with onions and mushrooms. You can order a la carte, mild for only $ 10. That’s a pretty good price for steak.

I’m usually not a Panda Express kind of girl, but I really liked this one. Maybe it’s because it’s brand-​spankin-​new. Maybe it’s because I had to wait a few minutes for my hot and fresh out the pan tofu eggplant entrée. Maybe it’s because all of the staff seemed like they were trying their hardest. Maybe I was just hungry. But I would go back — that $ 7 bought be a ton of tasty fresh food.
