Best TAKEOUT Thai in Marin!!! It’s a tiny adorable place on 4th street. The meals are so cheap. My favorites are the yellow curry and also the coconut soup. I almost always get the vegetarian because it’s loaded with veggies! Fabulous prices and great customer service. Call ahead!

Our favorite Thai restaurant in Marin. I actually love that it’s super small, it makes the food tastes so homey! The owners are friendly, accommodating, and very attentive to any changes or dislikes you might have. The prices are perfect. It’s just a really nice dining experience. You’ll find yourself talking to the owner and enjoying everything. Don’t forget only cash though :)

4.5 if it allowed. Ordered for lunch pick up — Pad Thai, pumpkin curry and spring rolls. The Pad Thai has great flavor and nice portion for lunch — easily for two people to share. The pumpkin /vegetable curry was very tender and has good flavor but not very spicy. It’s a favorite of mine. Today they they added Broccolini and cabbage. I think they just put extra veggies in when they have them laying around. The spring rolls are very crispy and consistent. Not sure if they are made on site– but a staple of craving the fried food. I’m giving them a 4.5 because they place is very small and you are literally bumping into people when you walk in and the parking is horrendous because you need to find street parking in 4th street. I know they can’t do anything about this — and they can’t help it if the food is very tasty and people want to eat there. But it can be annoying if you aren’t walking distance and you need a pad Thai fix. They only take cash! So bring the green. Give them a shot–«a no brainer»

This place has the bombest curry I have ever tasted. If you are looking for a rare treat in terms of Thai Cuisine, definitely check this place out!!!

Excellent Thai food. The service is excellent. This restaurant is small, in terms of seating options those are limited. As it is always busy and for good reason.

Great staff let us in 15 minutes before closing. Best pad Thai noodles around this area

My girlfriend and I ate here last night and it’s unfortunate that I’m giving this place such a low rating because I did enjoy the chicken pad thai. However, the service was quite poor. The staff was unfriendly upon our arrival. The water they served us tasted like straight up tap water that failed to be filtered. And the waitress scoffed at us when we chose to order one dish to share. We weren’t extremely hungry and we knew one dish was enough to satisfy us. But the waitress acted like we were wasting her time, and proceeded to gossip about us to her coworkers. We ate our meal quickly and left ASAP. Don’t think we’ll be returning here. At the very least we might order to-go, but overall it seems they don’t know how to treat customers right.

The food was forgettable. The service was poor. The area has a bunch of different places to eat, and I don’t think I’ll be back. I had a craving for yellow curry. A very standard Thai dish. The item wasn’t on the menu, it was instead on a board of specials(which wasn’t visible to me as my back was to it, and no mention of specials was made by the waitress/owner). My girlfriend got red curry, and I placed an order for green curry. A moment after placing the order the specials board was noticed by us. I hate changing orders, but less than 30 seconds had passed, so I went ahead and changed it. The waitress/owner was polite and seemed happy to make the adjustment. The food arrived and it was OK, but not any better than even the Thai food here in Marin, let alone any of the(actually good) Thai places in the city. The serving sizes were good, and that was a plus. After serving the food the waitress/owner never returned to our table until we called her for the check. I finished my water moments after we sat down and placed my empty cup near the outer edge of the table. The waitress/owner and her husband walked past our table several times and never took notice. An empty glass is one of the ways I test a new restaurant out, and they didn’t pass the test. The waitress/owner was very polite and full of smiles. I don’t think she meant to ignore us. But, we were the only table in the place(2 to go orders went through while we ate, but the restaurant was otherwise totally empty). I wouldn’t eat here again. There are too many other options within a block of the place, let alone down the street.

Service was awful and we were pretty much the only table in the restaurant… there are only 4 physical tables. Too bad. Oh, food was meh

Solid Thai spot for lunch that is affordable and does good to-go orders. I wouldn’t really recommend eating there cause it’s kind of cramped. What makes this place just a mediocre thai place is that it’s not that authentic and some dishes just taste off compared to other great thai places.

Terrible, no taste, slow service. Way too much cabbage, the Larb Gai had no mint leaves and tasteless. I spent 15 years in Thailand, I know high expect ions but where can I find Thai food that doesn’t cater to the American pallet?

Hands down my favorite Thai place of San Rafael. Small place and cash only is worth it. They give pretty good portions and quick. Pad Thai and green curry with rice are my favorites.

So great~ we’ve got a flat tire and just pass by the city to fix it. Bumped into the cute small restaurant and enjoyed it with pleasant surprise! Highly recommended for the green curry and peanut sauce made in house

Absolutely LOVE this place! This is our GOTO place for Thai food when we are any where near. We have even driven from Hercules just to go here to eat. The Pad Thai really reminds me of Thailand so thats enough for me to make the drive. We typically over order but left over Thai food is still great from this place!

Cash Only. Got the BBQ pork fried rice lunch special, 9 bucks, plenty of food, small restaurant, very hole in the wall, but the food was good and plentiful!

These guys are the king of take out in San Rafael and have a cute little dining room if you wish to stay in. There is a lot of Thai food in San Rafael and its gets hard to tell them all apart, but this place always stands out in my mind when I want to grab some great quality Thai to take home. They have some very unique plates and all of it is great and well priced. Its absolutely worth a look next time you’re in the area. Keep your eyes open or you’ll miss it!

I like this place, super small and cozy. Not as fancy as Thai Bangkok Express up the street. Nice, friendly staff who cater to their customers like family. I will stop in for my Thai cravings, along with their iced tea. Yes, bring cash only. P. S. I also satisfy my plantain cravings at Sol Food afterwards — true Unilocaler for life… gotta love food!

After my less-than-sublime experience many seasons ago, a friend convinced me to try Bay Thai one more time, helped not in the least by a spoonful of green chicken curry that I sampled from his takeout a few weeks ago. For lunch we decided to get the ‘lunch plates’ which are essentially a serving of rice with the named dish of choice; it was the green curry chicken and the red curry chicken this time. Both the curries were delicious, with the red curry having a stronger hint of red peppers while the green seemed to have a stronger hint of basil and lemongrass. I also felt that the coconut milk was more pronounced in the green curry than in the red(but don’t hold me to it!). What I loved about the curries were the bamboo shoots. I love bamboo shoots in curries and not many Thai restaurants seem to do that — Royal Thai, My Thai, and Bangkok Express comes to mind, by their lack of it. The portions of rice were generous, at about one-and-a-half cup each, as were the curries, and should fill most any single tummies of the world. At $ 7.50 each, it was a steal. And as I remember, the takeout of just the curries were pretty cheap and very generous portions; they would make about 3 meals for the most part. So what if you have to share tables with a stranger? The concept of a communal table is not foreign around here. The much vaunted Sol Foods down the block does it in a much larger dining area and nobody seems to complain about that! I’m now, officially, a fan!
