I’ve been going to Raquel for approx. 6 months. I’m so glad I found Raquel on Unilocal as she is the best person for tape-​in hair extensions!!! I’ve tried all types of hair extensions and like the tape-​in the best. The only problem I was having with the tape-​in extensions was finding someone who could put them back in for a refresh. Most hair dresser just guess where they should go back in, which creates a problem with your hair style not being even. The last person I went to said «she nailed it» but when I got home my husband asked what happened to my hair because it was so uneven… This is after over an hour in the chair. Raquel can refresh your hair extensions in 30 – 45 minutes perfectly. The price is also very reasonable. Raquel’s location is also very discreet. She takes one customer at a time into a room for your service. Most salons put you in the window on display. Best place ever!!! :-)

I am currently growing out my pixie cut, and wanted a change and to skip the «growing out» phase. I found Unique Hair Solutions on Unilocal,and scheduled a consultation with Raquel. She was very thorough and explained everything I needed to know about having hair extensions. I called back later that day, paid over the phone, and she ordered my hair. One week later I was in to have her put my extensions in. The results have been amazing! I wanted something that looked as «natural» as possible. I opted for a shoulder length style, and I’m very satisfied with the results. I have now had them in for a week (have worked out, washed them, slept in them, etc,) and I must say that I am very happy I went through with it! Raquel is great at her craft, and I am very pleased to work with someone who takes such pride in their work. Thank you!

Raquel is honest, helpful, kind and knows her stuff! Any question I had about a wig she answered immediately and I could tell right away that she was well educated in hair.

I’ve wanted lush, long hair for years but never thought it would actually happen. I had very fine, thin hair that — no matter how much I coaxed it — would never grow past my shoulders. After many years of wishing, and then several months of research (I’m very particular), I booked a consultation with Raquel at Unique Hair Solutions. I found UHS on Unilocal and was impressed by the rave reviews and the photos of Raquel’s beautiful handiwork. The consultation went smoothly — Raquel asked me what I had in mind, answered my millions of questions, and offered her expert advice. She was friendly, personable, and professional.
There was some delay (more than usual) with getting the extensions Raquel ordered for me (some mixup with the supplier) but as soon as the hair arrived Raquel booked me in (the very next morning!). The application was quick and painless. Raquel went out of her way to show me the different ways I could style my hair and gave great tips on tools and products to use to maintain my gorgeous new hair.
I have received SO many compliments. The hair color matches my own natural color PERFECTLY so it blends in seamlessly.
It’s been about a week and a half and I’ve had no issues whatsoever with the tape or maintenance. I now have to spend more time than usual caring for my hair and styling it — but that’s all part of the fun!

I love Unique Hair Solutions! And Raquel is awesome. I got my first set of hair extensions a few months ago and I can’t imagine ever going back to my regular hair. Everyone constantly comments about how natural my hair looks and everyone I tell is totally shocked that I have extensions. The color matches perfectly and it definitely looks just like my hair.
The tape extensions that she uses are high quality, easy to take care of, and you can barely tell they are in there.
Raquel is not only an expert hair extension wiz, but she is also very accommodating. She gets back to my emails in record time and always makes time for me to come down to the salon if I need a quick trim or touch up.
Plus, the prices are extremely reasonable compared to other salons that would charge double.

I have thin hair, I have really short hair (to my chin short), I had bad uneven layers and on top of that I had a history of spending close to a thousand dollars on other hair extensions that have failed my weak hair in the past 3 years…
I had all this in hope that my hair could be transformed into beauty and well Raquel did it!

I have been holding up to do this review for a while because I really wanted to test these hair extensions (I have had them for about 4 weeks now), I went with them on while working out, at work, as well in the beach, in the heat
and having the up and down hair-​styles as well as straightening, and curling the hair, and using hair products. and of course I follow the hair care instructions I was given :)
I had a budget of 600 $ and Raquel helped me stay within my budget and I was superbly pleased! and may I say the process was faster than I expected but it was not rushed at all of course. Raquel is so informative and patient and awesome! she knows what she is doing for sure.
I got the natural body wave in color 1b, 20 inches.
BTW!!! YOU CAN PAY HALF FOR WHEN YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER WITH HER AFTER THE CONSULTATION AND PAY THE OTHER HALF AFTER YOUR HAIR INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.!! (HOW COOL!!!)
these hair extensions feel so light and blend it perfectly with my natural hair and no one can tell ;), and these do not tug on the hair at all nor does it fell hot or itchy.
–even my best friend who wears wigs and extensions for the past 5 years was amazed with my outcome– (THANK YOU RAQUEL)
I cannot wait to set up my next appointment with her since my hair is growing out and ill have to get some fresh tape and I am so glad the price to get it re-​whipped is not pricy at all; VERY REASONABLE,
so in conclusion if you are in a position like mine I feel you… and suggest TO COME HERE ITS SO CLEAN AND ADORABLE, AND A PRIVATE PLACE you will feel accommodated for sure!

I just went to Unique Hair Solutions for the first time and what a wonderful experience!
A couple years ago I gained some weight and I was never feeling good about myself, let alone feeling comfortable in my own skin. I went from dressing cute and putting on makeup everyday to wearing sweats, no make up and throwing my hair up in a ponytail.
For awhile I threw around the idea of wanting extensions, and for Christmas I got them! I was excited and nervous at the same time, but by the time I entered the salon it all changed… I was so excited! The salon was so cute and clean, with its own little boutique.
I went into the back room for my appointment with Raquel… from the very start I started feeling more confident. Raquel showed me my new hair I would be getting that day, let me feel it and explained everything from what she was doing to how to take care of it.
By the time Raquel put my new hair in I felt beautiful, and that was before she curled it for me! I felt like a whole new person! I went from sitting at home feeling down to wanting to go out and show off my new hair! Each day since I love getting ready (trying different hair styles) and even running errands is fun! It feels so good to want to go out just cause I feel beautiful and confident! What a difference!

I’ve been going to Raquel for my hair extensions for about two years now. I was always very skeptical about extensions because I thought it would be very high maintenance. Raquel showed me what I’ve been missing out on all these years! She is very knowledgable on product and hair pieces of all sorts. She’s prompt and professional, she makes you feel comfortable, and she listens.
We are always switching up my length color and texture. She matches and blends everything beautifully. High quality natural looking gorgeous Hollywood hair. Raquel is great!!! Love the extensions. I placed my set in on August 2013 and I just went back to have them placed back into place since my hair had grown out. I really have to say that they are easy to maintain. .they blend in perfectly with my hair… and now I don’t know how I’ll go without extensions! My hair has volume and style! Love it and I would recommend everyone. Also Raquel and her grandma are the best :)

You are truly an expert, I highly recommend everyone to try the hair extension. so convenient, application less than 1 hour. I don’t feel heavy or pain with it. Now I can style my hair the way I want it like Kardashian’s, JLo, etc :) Raquel really took time to observe my hair and what’s the best texture, length, and color to match between the hair extension and my real hair. Now that I have it on, I have compliment everywhere I go but people don’t notice it’s an extension, look very natural.

Raquel is great at what she does! I was so unhappy with my fine, short hair before my extensions. I absolutely love the tape-​in extensions! Though I had been wearing
clip-​ins for about a month, I like these much better as I don’t have to take them out when I’m sleeping. Raquel is affordable & super on top of returning emails. So happy I went with her for my extensions!

I’ve recently been experimenting with different types of hair extensions. I have very thin hair and wasn’t fully satisfied with what I have tried before (sew –ins, metal clamps and clip-​ins). Several of my friends have gotten extensions that are applied with double sided tape and swear by them. I was happy to find Raquel at Unique Hair Solutions in San Mateo that offered this service! I scheduled a consultation with Raquel and we looked at different hair swatches together. She paid special attention to what I wanted and also gave me her expert input. I wanted to switch up my color and try out ombré hair. We were able to select a nice brown/​blonde combo. She recommended 18 inches of hair for me.
When the hair arrived I was able to get in the same day =) I am very pleased with the end result! I now have ombré hair and didn’t have to dye my own hair to achieve the look I wanted. Not only am I extremely happy with the color I am also pleased with the length, fullness and quality of the hair!
Raquel was also very sweet, professional and even followed up with me about aftercare and how my hair was after my first wash.
I highly recommend this place for people wanting to try out a new look or anyone in need of hair solutions, the shop stays true to it’s name! ;)

Raquel is AMAZING! My hair has always been very thin and I had tried out a few places around the Peninsula for hair extensions and I’ve never been 100% happy (uneven, false looking, uncomfortable, color doesn’t match etc.) a friend recommended Raquel and I have never been happier! My hair looks flawless, the quality of hair, color, length, blendability, thickness is all perfection. She listened to exactly what I wanted and really came through.
