It’s been a few months since I ate here, so forgive me if anything I say is outdated. There was nothing good about my deli sandwich. Everything about it seemed cheap except the price. I had come to this spot before they opened the deli when there was just the dollar store. I grabbed a bag of chips to go with my sandwich thinking that they were part of the dollar store merchandise. After they charged me closer to $ 2 for the chips, I realized a sign that said that there was a division between the deli and the dollar store. Fine enough except that it was not clearly marked, and the chips were PASTTHEIREXPIRATION and they tasted it! I keep seeing the Groupon for this place pop up and it’s tempting because it’s a great deal but no deal is good enough for sub-par food.

I have been going here for over 6 months and have really loved all the sandwiches I’ve ordered. Do like that you can request the ingredients and pay accordingly. I have not had any issues with freshness, although they may have not have had the kind of roll preferred. They’ve recently expanded their offerings to include a really excellent selection of whole bean coffees, freshly ground and brewed, using an outstanding single serve machine or prepared using a French Press, which takes longer, but is my personal preference. I’m very comfortable recommending them; their gourmet coffee service is worth the extra time for preparation, and their sandwiches are large and really good!

The ugly fat chick that works at this place is absolutely insane. Do not patronize this store. We went in to check out the«closing out» sale and there wasn’t much left in there. As we were standing on the sidewalk discussing where we were going to meet at the mall, the nutty cashier comes bursting out and tells us we «are not allowed to stand on the sidewalk» per the owner and she threatens to call the police, lol. We tell her it’s a public sidewalk to go ahead and call the police. Pretty sure she is a crack or meth head of some sort, very paranoid chick. Steer clear of this business, hopefully they will be out of business soon.

One early morning, I was headed to Starbucks to grab some coffee beans, but I was sidetracked by the advertising clapboards along El Camino which read«SUPPORTYOURLOCALBUSINESS!!!» and directed me to Smackers. Welp, I tried to support my local business, but unfortunately they don’t sell whole coffee beans. Smackers is a café with the ambience of a convenience store, and they also appear to sell sandwiches. Doubt I’ll be going back in, since we’ve already got a few favorite sandwich spots in town, and the coffee setup isn’t what I was looking for.

The worst sandwich I have ever purchased. It took forever to make, the two behind the counter looked like it was the first time they ever had to make a sandwich. Plus the«deli» is also a dollar store which I thought was weird. These people should close the doors right now and stop pissing people off with their nasty sandwiches.

I went in with a Groupon voucher and I had to request a refund. I was just very disappointed with the whole experience. Not only was the customer service extremely inefficient and slow, it was very clear that the ingredients that they use were old or not clean. The sandwich maker had holes in his gloves and joked that they needed to use bigger sized gloves, but he had also been handling the cash register/cash, the phone, and other materials in the store WITH his exposed fingers. The bread they used was also stale, and the deli meat had some green coloring to it. I didn’t know how to respond to the situation right then and there when the whole process of me watching them prepare my sandwich grossed me out. No joke, I had to throw out the sandwiches as soon as I stepped foot outside.
