This is a review of a recent dry clean of my Hugo Boss three piece suit: 1. The staff is very courteous and pleasant. 2. However, once I dropped off the suit, I noticed one of the staff take the suit jacket, fold it, and throw it in the rest of the pile of clothes. I would think, if you are dry cleaning a suit, or something more expensive, more care would have been given to the apparel(maybe leave it on a hanger perhaps?) 3. When I received the suit, at first glance, it was done fairly well. The only thing I noticed at that point was the left shoulder of the suit a bit wrinkled and unpressed. They told me that this is normal and it’ll go away after wear. Ok… 4. I got home and while I was putting the suit away, noticed that the fasten silk lace on the back of the vest was torn from one of the hinge/sides. Not good. They didn’t even tell me or attempt to fix it. I’ll take it to my rockstar alteration place to get it fixed. Overall, terrible experience with the end result. Staff is nice, but not good enough for me to EVER return.

I’ve gone to this place several times. Every time I take a shirt in that is actually dirty, it never gets cleaned. The dirt or stain spot remains when I pick up the shirt. I’ve been to other places where they will specifically point out the stain that was removed when you pick up the item, but this place just hands it back to you. The types of stains that don’t get cleaned here would most likely come out in the wash at home… so that is probably what I’ll do from now on. Other than that, this place is OK. They will finish your shirts nicely(but not get them clean!) and their alterations are alright. I’m definitely not going here anymore.

Right off the bat I should say that their work on dry cleaning and laundry is excellent. The shirts are starched just right and the laundry is clean as can be. However… … they charge way too much! I believe a laundered men’s dress shirt costs $ 3.70 and dry cleaning on a similar shirt is $ 6.00. I asked how much to alter a cost(sleeves shortened about an inch) and the lady said $ 38!!! Damn, that’s a lot of money. After picking up my dry cleaning I found a place right across the street(T&C Cleaners) that charges about half what this place does. I’ll have to try it out and report back.

Holiday Cleaners of America is the best I have found on the entire Peninsula. I go out of my way from where I work in Foster City and from where I live in Menlo Park just to use them. I have had a great experience with many different services: dry cleaning everything from clothing to winter coats to bedding, pressing shirts, and alterations from a simple pant hem to a complicated reworking of a fomal chiffon gown. No stain has gone uncleaned, no timeline too tight if I’m in a jam. They do beautiful work and care for your items like they were their own. I have never been disappointed. Mrs. Kim and her staff are also so friendly and accommodating — it really makes the experience. You just know they will take care of you and never have to worry about even your most prized possessions. Some people have given lower ratings for prices, and I think that is absurd. I have found their prices to be only slightly higher than the average places I have tried where the quality and services is terrible in comparison. I think this place is a bargain considering what you get for your money!

This review is regarding alterations only. I’ve found this place’s prices to be exorbitant! If we’re talking fine sewing on dupioni silk, yes, you’re gonna have to pay through the nose for that and just suck it up. But $ 16 to replace a tiny zipper? NOT. And $ 24 to hem a plain coat? Um, NO. I sew a bit and honestly, the alterations I asked about didn’t involve a lot of fancy tailoring but were more than I wanted to deal with. Given the quotes I got from this place and the other dry cleaners across the way near Piazza’s, I’m inclined to do it myself even if it takes a bit longer.

Other than random stuff, I got a really heavy featherbed cleaned for only around $ 48. I thought that was a pretty good deal. I had a zipper replaced, brought in coats, tops, etc. the price is fair, and the employees are nice. Oh, it’s clean in there too. Worth the $!

«10 dress shirts and a suit jacket … $ 42 … Expensive I think, but it’s oh so conveniently close to work.»
