This was the first OTG on the peninsula and was held before all the major popular restaurants and boba/dessert places began popping up in San Mateo. It was located right by the San Mateo Caltrain station by downtown and the movie theater so you could find parking in the Caltrain lot or around downtown. Hit and miss on the line-up but it was nice not having to drive all the way to Fort Mason for a couple of trucks to enjoy with a group of friends. Sad to see it go but wouldn’t think it would survive with all the establishments now opened up in the area. In addition, now there are a lot more OTG locations open that you could go to instead.

Hongry Kong has the HK-style comfort foods you crave. Delicious and authentic porkchops over rice or spaghetti, stewed beef brisket, curried fish balls, a variety of dim sum and snacks, and so really thirst quenching drinks. The sauces and flavors are incredible, and the meats are so tender. It’s love at first bite. Don’t forget to try their egg tarts, hot and fresh out of the oven. They come in flaky or cookie crust, and several flavors. Check out their weekly specials too! They’re always innovating new spins to entice your palate. Watch for their Facebook and Twitter posts for dates and times. You won’t be dissappointed.

Off the Grid was back! The Chairman and Hiyaa was there last night, among two others. Live performances by a singer/guitar player. Also, you can get beer at the Melting Pot. This year, there was also a pizza, fruit/vegetable, and orchid stand. I’m glad to see them back!
