Omg, idk how this place has any bad stars! I have tried a lot of pizza in this area and none are this good. I have narrowed it down to this place. It’s truly ny style. If it’s a late night, I will only order delivery from here… They are so good.

If you are a New Yorker, you will like this location. Truly NYC style. Yes, it could be slightly better — but not much. Slices are delicious, generous(in NYC they are smaller), and fairly priced at $ 4 for cheese, $ 4.50 with a topping. And the eat in tastes SOOO much better than the delivery. Varied list of toppings too. If you want NYC style come here. If you want Chicago deep-dish, go to Little Star in Mission. It’s virtually perfect. And you’re confused if you order a supreme slice and give them a bad review because toppings fall off your pizza!

Really disappointed because I was looking forward to trying this place but when I ordered delivery they never showed up. I live in a gated apartment and I left specific instructions to call me upon arrival. I never received a call or text and come 2 hours later I’m wondering what happened to my delivery. I had to call customer service to find out«they tried to deliver it but no one answered the phone.» I have no missed calls or texts on my phone. They told me I could call the store and ask them to try and redeliver but at that point it was closing time. I just felt the situation could’ve been handled better by the restaurant and not this third party online ordering system. Thankfully I was going to pay cash so I didn’t lose any money but as a first time customer having this experience they may have lost my business.

Came here twice to pick up pizza to eat at home. Not a fan of their pizza but the caesar salad is a safe bet. Parking in this area is also a headache. Won’t be coming back here.

I came across New York Pizza while I was walking around downtown San Mateo trying to figure out what I wanted to eat for dinner. I pretty much have eaten at most of the spots surrounding the area as I work nearby. I was hungry but not too hungry and didn’t want anything fancy. I decided to give New York Pizza a try. I ordered the King Kong slice which was $ 5.00. It was about 6pm and there was no line and only one other family there. I waited about 15 minutes for the slice(which is actually 2 slices put together). When it came, there wasn’t really anything special about it. I just thought it was ok. It came with onions, green peppers, ham, sausage, pepperoni, olives, and cheese all of which kept falling off the pizza. I had to result to using a knife and fork so it wasn’t so messy when I ate it. I ended up just eating 1 of the 2 slices.

My last pizza delivery wasn’t great. The pizza was overbaked to the point where the pepperoni was really dried out and crusty. Delivery on time and service is good, but hit-or-miss with your pie.

I don’t know if it’s just me. I’ve tired this place twice and got really sick twice. I felt like I was going to to die after eating it. I’ll never eat here again. I hate putting bad reviews for restaurants but this was hard not to write one. A lot of people like this place so I thought I give it a tired. But never again.

This place is a small hole in the wall, that specializes in delivery, but my review is about having a slice to go. This place is really good, the people that work there are nice, and the slices are huge. It is in a great place, next to a bar, and by the movie theaters, so it is a great location.

Thursday, 8:30PM. Quickie: * Pie quality + Service — Cleanliness + Quick turnaround * Layout And then??? Tough to deny late night pizza. ********** Stuffed my face in: 1. Greek spinach pizza — Overcooked? Crust and integrity of the pie were chalky. Constructive comments: *Option to compost *Source ingredients

I get pizza here a lot and it is amazing! Everyone is very friendly and the pizza doesn’t take to long to cook. If you want pizza in San Mateo this is the place to go to! slices of pizza are very big and i love that.

I’m a fan. Easy quick pizza fix. 1 slice = 2 slices Slices are thin. Will be coming back.

Second time I ordered and it was as if the pizza dough was 2 days old(dry or warmed up twice). First time I ordered Mexican pizza, it was not to bad except for the dough and maybe little bit too much cilantro(but that’s my opinion). Potato skins this time was as if they were lazy; huge chunks of baked green onion(baked!!!) nearly no bacon and burned melted cheese. Last time was beautiful — little potatoes, raw green onion, not too much bacon but just right and sour crème wasn’t warmed up because of placing it on top of hot pizza and potatoes. Overall I think 3* is overrated for this time. Also had to wait 1h30minutes…

Was really hungry after work and craving pizza. I’ve passed by this place a couple times but never bothered to go in til now. I’ve also never had New York style pizza before but when I tried it at this place, I fell in love! I ordered a single slice pepperoni with sausage pizza and it was huge! I love how the crust is thin and crunchy! Totally worth the money and it definitely filled me up. Service was good as well! I will be back!

Came here on a whim since I was in the area and was craving pizza. Pizza was tasty and folks were friendly. Their slices are huge and what I really liked is that you can get a slice(they’re huge) from whatever kind of pizza you want. This was a bonus since my kids are always arguing about how one wants one kind and the other wants another kind. Well, this way they each got to pick whatever kind they wanted! Minus one star, because the tables could use a wipe and the place can look more tidy.

My work had pizza delivered today for the holiday. We ordered several pizzas, lasagna, garlic bread, and pasta. It was delivered on time and with everything here. The lasagna is sooooo good! A must try here! The garlic bread is also very good!

Yum! I didn’t even realize this place has been here for awhile. The crust and crispness was perfect. I got a BBQ chicken slice. My friend had been here before and his advice on ordering was, «One slice means two.» I didn’t understand at first and was considering getting a mini 9″. But I settled on one slice since my friend seemed to think that was enough food for him. One slice IS two! :P Pizza was quick to come out and that was great because my drunchies were creeping up on me. My other friend ordered chicken wings and those took longer than the time it took me to eat my pizza. But who really orders wings at a pizza place haha.

Friends and I came here for our Downtown Pizza Chow Down to check out all the downtown pizza places in San Mateo. This was our first stop and also rated the best. We ordered pizza by the slice. These are HUGE slices(two separate actually) and they’re delicious. Great thin crust, great cheese and great toppings. You can also order just about any kind of pizza you want. Our group rated it a 9 overall. It was just great!

New York Pizza is right next to my boxing gym. Often the scent will waft down to me as I’m warming up and I have to resist the temptation to abandon ship & stuff my face. I’ve only tried the tuscany delight and greek spinach pizzas and they’re both pretty good. The slices are pretty huge but thin crust, so less guilt! They also serve pastas, calzones, flatbreads, and other carbalicious goods. Need to sober up?! It’s also basically your only option for food in DTSM after last call. Vu managed to kill off 3 slices last trip, very impressive. I’m surprised that anything downtown is open past 2am and that deserves an extra star! Good time to utilize the option to create your own pizza. «I’ll have the 24″ King Kong with all the toppings…» :D _____________________________________________ To the owner, if you’re reading this, please tell your workers to stop feeding leftover pizza crusts to the rats with wings outside. We train out there sometimes and frankly it’s not pleasant for anyone when there’s bird turds smattering the whole plaza, especially since I train barefoot. Thanks!

I love this place! Thin crust is perfect. The pizza sauce has the right spices and they put just the right amount of cheese. The place is not that big but can definitely bring the family here.
