The food is fantastic and price wise beats a lot Of competitors. I got the Cajun 1lb shrimp with corn mild spice and that was pure perfection! I also go 1lb mussels basil sauce which was really good too! The wait time to be seated was less than 10 minutes on a Saturday night. Make sure to get the deep fried oysters! So fresh and melts in your mouth. Also don’t forget to check in for the free sweet potato or Cajun fries. This is def a must eat place! Good for the wallet and your tastebuds will be happy too!

Had dinner here yesterday and the food was delicious! Steven was our waiter, he was great! Will definitely go back this place with friends. I tried another place in San Mateo but not as good as this one cause the shrimps, mussels and clams here were very FRESH, extremely FRESH. I believe the crab is about $ 40, lobster $ 48, mussel $ 6 per/lb. My sister likes the garlic butter and I prefer the basal sauce so yummy. I really like the garlic noodle and French fries cause not too oily. I agree with another Unilocaler that the temperature of the sauce was a bit too hot so I ate must of the seafood with the folk instead of my hands. This place recently opened so very thing is still very clean and the food is excellent. Forgot to take pictures will do it next time! Remember to make reservation cause this place is a bit small.

My friend bought me in last night for dinner during their soft opening. Among many many recently open Cajun places in the bay area, this is what CFood Crush is: Among their favors, I like their lemon pepper, relatively crisp and refreshing. If you found those fully cooked lemon skin pieces, you would love to eat it too. Truly amazing. They have side dishes: Very interestingly, if you ever thought of trying –garlic noodle is very good. –fried oyster, comes with a special sauce –if you ever wonder how frog taste, but feel too weird, you can try their fried frog leg… taste 90% like chicken drumstick For drinks: –they have sangria & arnold palmer

We had shrimp, clams, Rockefeller oysters, fries and garlic noodles. Food was solid and comparable in quality and price to similar joints. The service however was way better than what I expected. Very nice and attentive staff!

Had the shrimp in garlic butter, clams in Cali Cajun, baked oysters and sweet potato fries(free from check in on Unilocal). I skipped the fries and even without it I was stuffed! Everything was so tasty and fresh. Shrimps were huge and I devoured the baked oysters. Will be back!

If you are a seafood lover, you got to check this place out. They have very fresh seafood such as crab, lobster, oyster, shrimp and clam. I have tried Cajun shrimp, basil clam, basil mussel and signature crab so far. All the dishes I tried were very yummy. Compare to other Cajun places, I think their sauce is more like fusion style. It’s a bit different than regular Cajun restaurants I usually go such as shaking crab in Daly City, but I like it very much! The décor is trendy and the service is very good. I will def go back.

The octopus inked noodle was delicious! Looks can be deceiving. Perfect place for a little corporate dinner, gotta try all the dishes, with different sauce and spiciness. The fresh oysters was so fresh that it was sweet.

I originally wanted to write this review last night but unfortunately the food coma hit me so by the time I thought of writing a review I was already fighting to sleep… Cfood Crush, if my memory serves me, took over where Cajun House 2 used to be. Right near Pacific Catch. It’s located in downtown San Mateo so parking can be murder during the weekend especially after 6pm. When my boyfriend and I stepped in, the tables at the lower level was all filled completely. They have an upstairs with tables as well, but I didn’t know that yet. Honestly, first impression wasn’t that nice. My boyfriend and I were clearly seen by 3 different servers and yet no one said anything to us. They just looked then walked away which was pretty darn rude because the least they could’ve done was acknowledge us and then tell us to wait, but they didn’t. My boyfriend said to give them 3 minutes and if they don’t say anything then we’ll just leave, but after a minute, another server came up to us and asked how many. He was really friendly, I wish I got his name! The design of the restaurant itself is very interesting. They have an in wall fire place near the door and then the walls have some wooden panels. And they have a painted mural on the wall of San Francisco which I thought was pretty cool. One thing though: this place doesn’t scream messy eating like Boiling Crab does. This place is a little more casual dining… Eventually we sat down at a table upstairs. It’s a little chilly upstairs because of the AC so you should wear some layers. I was excited when I saw the menu because they got a bunch of food that I really did want to try. And this was also where I found out that my boyfriend actually doesn’t like garlic noodles all that much… Boyfriend, why. How. Everything we got: 1) Cajun Fries: SPICY. Holy crap, it was spicier than the Cajun fries from Boiling Crab or Kickin’ Crab. 2) Sweet potato fries: FREE due to soft opening and omg they were crispy good! 3) Shrimp, garlic butter + corn: I didn’t have the shrimp because it was my boyfriend’s but I tried the sauce and it was tasty. 4) Clams, lemon pepper + corn: ok this one I got a slight issue because the sauce itself had TOO much pepper. Like no other flavor, but the pepper. The clams were nice and tender, though. And good size, too! 5) Squid Ink Pasta: ok, sorry, one more issue: too much peppers. The squid ink flavor was mild which was fine by me, but the taste had too strong of a pepper taste and that kinda took away from the main focus of the dish in my opinion.(Disclaimer: WILL turn parts of your lip and teeth black and cause your boyfriend to laugh at you every time you smile at him). Be warned. Overall, DEFINITELY will come back to eat more. I’m intrigued by the flavors and service was friendly after we got sat down so I’m happy about that. And a big thank you to my boyfriend for being down to try a new place for seafood even though he wouldn’t dare go near the squid ink pasta. Hehe

The food is so yummy! The quality of the food is amazing. Big clams and even bigger shrimps, marinated with secret fusion sauces. Highly recommend the Cajun Cali style clams, basil style mussels, cigniture lobster&crab! Their price is very reasonable and also it’s a fun experience eating food out of a bag ;)

New seafood restaurant, absolutely delish!!! Seafood was very fresh and cooked perfectly, squid ink pasta was al dente and the squid were lightly cooked and not chewy! We started with the creamed spinish and sautéed asparagus, both were fresh, cooked with a very light hand… not your thanksgiving creamed spinach thank goodness. Mussels in a cajan sauce, mildly spiced, mussels weren’t gritty at all and I wanted to drink the sauce it was so good. Simple and nice decorations, attentive service even for a soft opening, definitely going to return and try everything!

I’m from China and love seafood. I have had Cajun food many times before because I find the flavor very similar to Chinese south western cuisine. When I first had their garlic Cajun boil, I was in love! The flavor was so rich & thick and the materials are so fresh I couldn’t stop eating. Also, the size of their shrimps are almost double the size of what I usually have in other Cajun restaurants. The only downside to that is with one pound of seafood per order, you’ll get less pieces of shrimps. But I would rather have two pounds of fresh and juicy shrimps than a bunch of small ones! Yum! Will definitely go back for their fresh and tasty food!
