Wonderful service with decent pricing. She works fast and she does well. I brought in a jacket that was a few sizes too large. I was fitted and was to return the next week. When I picked it up and tried it on, it fit perfectly. The jacket still looked stock too. Great work. I was quite impressed.

Alice does a good job, and her prices are relatively cheap. I’ve also had many alterations done here and they are always done to specification. She can usually turn around a non-rush in 5 business days. Drawbacks are(1) parking. Unless you’re coming from El Camino, you either have to pull a U-Turn or walk across that busy and dangerous street.(2) hours. It would be nice if they opened earlier to accommodate pickups/dropoffs before work.(3) lunch. Alice takes off somewhere around 11:30 and doesn’t come back until later. During that time the people who man the front desk are… somewhat challenged. Other than that, they are my go-to and I do drive the extra mile to use them. They’ve never lost anything, always offer to help get my stuff to my car, and the clothes are always fresh and nicely pressed. Everything I’ve ever brought in comes back looking like new, but I’m not a guy so I don’t have to worry about starch and all that. They’ve also worked magic with stains and repairs to old clothes that I just can’t part with.

I’ve been coming to Alice’s for my alterations for years. She’s very skilled as a seamstress and always tries to be accomodating to my needs. I’ve been a bridesmaid 6 times and have brought all of my dresses here. She does an incredible job at altering dresses. I also came here to alter my own wedding gown and was extremely happy with the work. My dress had alot of details and I was initially worried that altering so much would ruin the dress… but it didn’t. Alice works magic! I’ve recommended her to tons of friends and family members and all had nothing but good things to say about her. I will never go anywhere else for my alterations!

I took 3 sport coats to her, 1 for only dry cleaning and 2 for alterations and dry cleaing. A week later she calls me to tell me they are done. When I picked them up, the seam on the one for only dry cleaning was undone and the other 2 were dirty and had not been altered. I refused to pay her the $ 123 and told her I would call my attorney immediately… after arguing with me for 45 min I was just told to only pay her half of the bill, HALFFORWHAT…15 minutes later, after much arguing, I was just told to take them. They are very rude and not professional!!!

I brought my Chinese dress here to alter. There was a bump in the back of my dress and I had to come here courtesy of MYDAYWEDDINGSTUDIO to fix it. They speak Chinese and English. The tailor appears to be well crafted in what she does because she use to be a tailor/seamstress in Hong Kong(?) Jean Hems(original hem) is about $ 18. I think it’s a bit steep considering other places only charge $ 10.

I went to Alice’s to get a pair of yoga pants hemmed on a Saturday. I told her that I needed them by Monday morning before they were open because I was heading out of town and asked if she had the time to do this. She was so friendly, said no problem, and gave me her card and cell phone #. She quickly measured and we went on our way. They were ready before closing that day as promised and done well. And the price was very inexpensive — no extra charge for same day service and great customer service!

On a wedding budget? Do not skimp on the alterations! I made this HUGE mistake when I chose Alice to alter my wedding dress. Alice quoted me a price $ 200 cheaper than the other 3 places I consulted. Initially, I trusted that she knew what they were doing. Alice seemed amenable to make small changes and was ok w/me coming back 3 – 4 times for minor fixes. When she said it was done, something didn’t seem right — the top buckled and folded and the vertical bust seams were blatantly puckered across my chest — terrible looking. Alice suggested I stuff my(already D cup) bra to push out the puckering spots and insisted the dress was«perfect» — just needed to be pressed once more. I reluctantly took my dress home b/c I’m traveling w/the dress and will need to have it pressed again before the wedding day Sept 6th. When I got home, it just didn’t sit right and felt uncomfortable… so, trusting my intuition, despite my tailoring ignorance, I went to another place for a consultation. The seamstress(literally) gasped: «Who did this!» She said, and I quote, «this is just, like, the worst job I’ve seen in 30 years.» We discovered several short cuts Alice had taken in altering my dress: one vertical bust seam was 7″ the other was 7.5″, no exaggeration; the inner ribbing was mistakenly cut down below the neckline of the dress(creating the top buckling and folding) and the side panels puckered. I nearly cried. Fortunately, this other woman(who I will« Unilocal» when I have the dress fixed and in hand) is hopeful she can save my dress w/15 days, and counting, until the wedding. In my experience, I strongly recommended you do not use Alice for wedding dress alterations.

They do a decent job cleaning and it’s cheap but I stopped coming here. Every time I asked for«a little starch» the shirts still came out stiff as a board. No worries, I didn’t care that much. Last time though a pretty new and expensive shirt came out looking like it’s been worn for 10 years. Maybe I saved $.30/shirt on the whole order but it wasn’t worth it. Oh also, the shop has that«nursing home» old people/death smell. Nice touch…
