Hideo Hair Design

Hideo is great! He’s been cutting my hair for years, and I can’t seem to find anyone that does such a good job.
He really knows what is good for your hair and only gives recommendations that really help. For example, when I wanted my hair light brown/​almost blonde 3 years ago (my hair is dark brown/​black), he suggested one shade darker so he would not have to bleach my hair (he used a strong peroxide mix instead), and I loved it!
I ONLY go to him to get my hair colored (especially when it is more than 2 shades of a difference) because he colors the roots of my hair slightly darker than the rest of my head so that when it grows out, it looks like a natural ombré of color instead of the usual severe line marking a color difference where the color ends. I’m not one for taking the best care of my hair, so I’m glad he tells me when I should lay off on the hair-​straightening or coloring.
Note on the bad reviews below: if you bring in a picture, make sure to point out all of the parts of the hair style that you like and why you like it (and what you DON’T want it to look like), because he really does a spot-​on job when it comes to making hair look like pictures as long as you convey everything you want to him. He will also tell you if it’s not possible to do if the person in the picture’s hair is not the same texture/​thickness/​etc. as yours!

I have been his customer since 2000. He has solid technique, and is very quick.
Tip: Try to make an appointment on weekdays for the best results since he is usually super busy on Saturdays (closed on Sundays.) Bring pictures, drawings, etc. of desired hairstyle, and make sure to tell him exactly what you want and consult him if the same style can be done with your hair type.

Great stylist. I’ve been having my hair done by Hideo for over 16 years now. He was recommended by a relative, and now three of us go to him, as well as friends I have referred him to. One friend recently had her hair streaked. She was very pleased and got a lot of compliments from her friends. He is very reasonable, too. $ 55 and he has not raised his price for years. I’ve had different styles over the years and right now, I’ve got the best look. Blond punked hair is the latest, which is a great look with my Asian skin! Needless to say, I trust him completely.

LOL I think the comments below are ridiculous! My mom’s friend recommended me this place to dye my hair ombré and he did AMAZING! Hideo (the owner) was really friendly to me and we had a really good conversation the entire time. My hair came out AMAZING, just the way I wanted it in the picture. He also trimmed my bangs and it came out a little bit short but still cute.

Do NOT go to him. He’s horrible. Took a picture, got something completely different and disastrous! I cannot understand how he could have messed it up so much. It was the worst hair cut of my life, and I’m not at age where I should be getting a bad hair cut. And he charged so much for messing up my hair that took 1 year to grow out so I can get it fixed by someone else.

this spot was recommended to me by my mother who stopped some woman on the street to find out where she got her hair did. woman might have had a nice haircut, but i wasn’t that impressed. the cut didn’t have much flair and didn’t fit my sense of style which shouldn’t happen with a $ 70 haircut. the salon itself was okay, hideo himself seemed a bit aloof.
