Great service at Palm café. I think their salsa is so much better than the other main Mexican eatieris in town. The have homemade tortillas that are so good! Try their chille rellano.

Very happy with my spicy green enchiladas! They were great! Very spicy! My friend had the same thing and he really liked them as well. They give you a lot of food! The staff is very friendly! We seated ourselves and then paid at the front. I’ll be back soon!

I’m shocked to see this whole in the wall having 4 stars! First of all tex me is never«4 stars» people, three ATBEST. I LOVE to see small restaurants with good food do good but this place was not it. My husband and I went for dinner and we ordered the guacamole asking if it was fresh and she said yes(by fresh I meant table side style not HEB, smooth, pre-made looking and tasting) their was no flavor or pico and it was 6 bucks. Also, their salsa was like spicy red water… Yuck. We ordered beef fajitas with shrimp and added extra shrimp. Bad idea! The shrimp looked and tasted like what came out of the cup of Ramen shrimp noodles. Tortillas were stale and hard, the rice was CRUNCHY and they were out if charro beans. Huge mistake to come here, spend a little more and go someplace where you won’t be leaving disappointed and hungry… Yuck yuck yuck!!!

From the street, the place may not look like much but I encourage you to check it out. The staff is incredibly friendly and personable and the atmosphere is really relaxed. The sour cream enchiladas are awesome and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Highly recommend!

Good breakfast– tacos and plates, I usually get the huevos rancheros and it’s very yummy! The boyfriend always get the cheese enchiladas and loves it. It’s average price for what you get, no complaints there. No complaints at all really. Try it out.

Awesomely spicy salsa and great refried beans! Nothing beats a hole-in-the-wall Mexican place like this one! And CHEAP! I will definitely be a regular here

Love getting Breakfast here! Tacos are big, breakfast plates are bigger, pancakes are bigger than Big, and best of all the Service is Quick! Cheap prices & Great food keeps me coming back!

Love the breakfast tacos here. Great flavor! They tend to mess up on bigger or complicated orders, leaving out ingredients, havent figured out if it is the wait staff or kitchen. To go tacos are small so make sure to eat in! I eat here once to twice a week for breakfast; defintely one of my San Marcos favs.

In a word … meh. Salsa was pretty good. I got the beef Mas Enchiladas. The sauce came from a can(no flavor at all).

Great place to get good, cheap Mexican food. It’s best if you don’t expect much in the way of service or ambiance, don’t get me wrong the service or place is not terrible it’s just very basic. Where they shine is the food and the price, my favorite dish is the Super Taco with beef fajitas, potatoes, cheese and guacamole.

Had hoped for better based on the reviews. I was so excited to see puffy tacos on the menu and ordered them… what a disappointment! The tortilla was overcooked and not edible. And this is the only place I’ve been that put beans in the taco and it was NOT good.

Probably my favorite Mexican food place so far in San Marcos. Plenty of food with really great chips and tortillas which both i believe are home made. It was really affordable and they kept the teas and water coming throughout the meal. Will be coming back to this one.

Car repair savior; right next to Mineke and Amco. Salsa has some bite. Fresh made tortillas. Waitress made a few mistakes, but I’m not here for Ritz service. I had the tamale’s Smothered in sauce and cheese… texmex. But good. Real deal.

This place is great! The best value for Mexican food in the San Marcos area by far. The prices cannot be beat, and the food is fantastic. The service was perfect, and the food was freshly prepared. Great food for a price that even a broke college student can afford.

Palm Café is possibly my favorite Mexican food place in San Marcos. They have this amazing salsa that I buy by the 32 oz. cup to-go. Palm Café temporarily changed salsas, but they brought the classic back, so I am in heaven again. 7 pounds heavier, but in heaven. The chicken in the dishes is phenomenal. I recommend the Spicy Green Enchiladas. For breakfast, they have the 3 for $ 3 deal on certain breakfast tacos. Homemade tortillas of course. The menudo is very popular in the mornings, but I have never had it.
