Love the quality and customer service Sharon (formerly at Hair Solutions) brings to North Street Studio! Sharon has done my hair for years and for the brief period of time she was out of state and unable to do my hair I saw a noticeable difference in quality and appearance. I’m so glad she’s back and would HIGHLY recommend her services. She brings years of experience and her own unique touch as an artist to the table — plus she’s honest and up front about cost and expectation.

Sharon, previously at Hair Solutions, has just come back to San Marcos after being away for 9 months and now working at North Street Studio. She is a genius with color and styling, creative as she is charming. I have never had a cut or color that I didn’t just like but loved! The Salon itself is very tastefully decorated, clean and relaxing. You can tell that someone took a lot of time to create a space that exudes professionalism and taste.

LOVED IT! I went in today for the 1^st time and absolutely loved Wendy! She was fabulous. Now I’m a pretty low maintenance hair kinda girl… meaning is long… cut it. But I said shoulder length, long layers. She got it, did it and it looks great!
I did not know Wendy prior to my visit, but I betcha she cut my hair when I was in college at SWT. LOL, she was so awesome. I would go back just to hang out and chat… possibly with a glass of wine next time… hmm, Wendy there’s an idea: Serve wine while you cut hair! Perfect.

Honestly, the best hair cut I have ever received!

Shea has cut and colored my hair for several years. She knows what I like and listens to my wishes although she is not afraid to tell me what will and will not work for my thin fine hair. She keeps me in style while keeping it easy… by the way she cuts my husbands hair and I never have to listen to him complain about what is wrong-​that in itself is the best testimony ever. Thanks Shea!

I had Alex do my hair and makeup for my wedding and she did a great job! Her calm, chill demeanor was exactly what I was looking for in a stylist (especially for the day of my wedding) and my updo looked great and lasted all day and all night. My makeup looked really cute too, and I would definitely recommend her to other brides in the San Marcos area!

Really wanted to like this place…
Skills like anything come from education and experience. The stylist obviously had 0 of both. Had I known this fact. wouldn’t have sat in the chair.
She couldn’t blend my hair to save, and I mean literally save, her life. I sat there and bad mouthed another salon as she butchered my hair. I was in and out in maybe 25min. That’s too fast. This place received No stars above the other San Marcos Salon AKYA or whatever… Adding insult to injury SHE ASKED in the beginning what I put in my hair and I told her and told her that the wet look is cheap and tacky. At the end of the cut she puts in a GLOP of cheap ass product.
I’ll be going home to Dallas this weekend. Guess I’ll repay to get this crap fixed. Luckily this place is cheaper. She gave me a discount $ 20 + $ 1 tip (because I’m so generous).
UPDATE:
Got so mad I ended up going to another salon, San Marcos Hair Co. and got it fixed. I didn’t even feel the ladies at North Street were competent enough to realize how many mistakes they made and let alone be able to fix it.

Though I will not return to this salon I want to say that even after this tongue lashing The stylist was professional enough to message me politely and apologize for my experience. Glad to see someone in the service industry who realizes how important keeping composure truly is. Kudos.

This salon has always pleased me. I’ve been 3 times, getting my hair cut by 3 different stylists. Wendy, Crystal, and Alex have all cut my hair, and it’s been perfect each time! Shea also styled my hair for a wedding once, and it was also great. Everyone is friendly, and my experience has been great every time I’ve been. Definitely recommend!

After my stylist changed salons and cities I was in need of a new place. I tried a bunch of different San Marcos salons and after doing some research ended up at North Street Studio. I am so glad I did! Not only did Shea give me a haircut that was exactly the one I wanted out of a magazine, she did it in half the time and at half the price of other places I’ve been in San Marcos. I couldn’t be happier with the service I received — Shea has a new customer for as long as she will have me. =) I highly recommend North Street Studio. Thanks Shea!

One word, WOW!!! This is by far the BEST hair salon in San Marcos! It is GORGEOUS inside and they have any and all hair products you could ever wish for! This is a new edition to San Marcos and it was much needed! The interior is decorated beautiful and classy. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I was greeted and offered a beverage while I waited for my stylist, Crystal. Crystal is a talented hair stylist that is AWESOME! My hair turned out beautifully and I have never had a hair dresser who was able to nail the color I wanted as well as she did! She listened to my wants and put a very unique spin on what I described to her and the end result was better than I ever expected. The prices were more than reasonable — too low for the quality if you ask me! I drive in from out of town to see Crystal every time I need to get my hair done, and I won’t let anyone else touch my hard to manage hair! Of all the salons I have visited in San Marcos and surrounding areas, this is by far the best looking and has the best staff. I would give it 10 stars if I could! Definitely need to check this one out!
