Am from Kerrville where the original resturant is located, so have had my fair share of meals, and this location seems to be a hit or miss. Tonight was no different. I am assuming waitress was new due to several mistakes on her part. It was Happy Hour and ordered a small domestic draft, they were out of what I ordered so got another brand but it was huge and when bill came, was NOT happy hour price, requested charro beans and got refried which was fine, didn’t eat them anyway. Food was good and my daughter’s iced tea was never empty. Too full for dessert.

Had dinner here with my husband and son and it was a very pleasant experience. I had the spinach enchiladas and thought they were exceptional. My son had the chicken burrito and was not quite as thrilled. My husband had the chimichangas and thought they were a bit dry. I have to say that the flan was to die for. As usual, we ate too many of the chips with the queso dip. The server was very attentive and even the busboys made sure we had what we needed.

Decent Mexican food. The green sauce is an interesting shade of green, but good. Good desserts, they have Cheesecake Factory cheesecake that you can take home with you. The restaurant interior is really nice with the high ceiling and fountain.

Roach in my salad, I have been traumatized and will never eat here again. Waiter never came by and we had to find the manager ourselves.

Volunteer holiday party held here this year, maybe two dozen people. Three long tables put together end to end and while the waiter got all orders right that I saw(and let me steal my friend’s check, god bless him!!) my mango margarita stayed empty and there was no offer of refills. I was not dying so waited for a reaction out of curiosity and none came. The gentleman in charge of refilling tea/water and chips? 100% on the ball and I hope my tip got shared with him b/c I would hire him tomorrow. I ordered the portobello starter(knowing I couldn’t eat it all myself with an entrée) and circled the group, sharing with anyone interested. It went over well and people came up asking for seconds until it disappeared. Entrees came out pretty close together, which was impressive for so many orders. Outside of my dry glass and a wait on the tabs, service seemed par. Food same as ever, and I heard my vegetarian neighbor excited to splurge here(think she got nachos). Another neighbor’s husband praised the shrimp, which my friend always orders when she’s visiting so I didn’t argue. Didn’t hear anyone complain, although after the mariachis arrived in the room behind us I would be none the wiser anyway. I had spinach enchiladas which were alright. I confess I’m not a huge fan of their rice. I’m still okay coming here at my friends’ requests. My mango margaritas have always pleased and considering the giant jump in numbers for limited waitstaff, service didn’t fall beyond repair.

Where to begin… Green sauce was blue. Drinks were weak and overpriced. Fajitas were burnt and the veggies were soggy. Cardboard rice and soupy beans were cold. Service was ok. It was just reeeeeaaally bad. Sorry for the poor review but people need to know to go somewhere else. To make matters worse I made the reservation there for my finance’s graduation party. I was embarrassed to feed that food to my family and even more embarrassed to pay that bill. Ugh.

Let’s start by saying it’s virtually impossible to get my family to agree on eating Mexican food in the first place and our experience today has made that challenge even more so. To start the waiter didn’t know what one of the sauces on the table was, the gentlemen refilling the sodas gave us the wrong refills, the Caesar salad was not palatable, we ordered shredded beef and received ground beef and the steaks that were ordered median well were server very rare and had to be sent back twice. Not happy or impressed and will definitely never return.

I’d really like to not send a bad review for Mamacita’s but I just can’t. The food is just sub par, I once ordered the soft tacos with shrimp and all it had in it was shrimp. That’s it. And it was not spiced very well all. Their green sauce has very little flavor and looks more like key lime sherbet than salsa. i’d rather not. There are so many better places to go, some just across the street. Positive note; their wait staff are on top of it. Great service, very prompt and helpful.

Typical Mexican food chain restaurant. Salsa and chips were obviously packaged. I got the carne guisada because I usually judge Mexican restaurants on that and let me tell you it wasn’t that great. Rice was bland even with a ton of salt and pepper the beans are the same way. Now to the main part of the dish for ten bucks a plate id expect a bunch of meat but I got ten pieces at best. The gravy was watery not thick at all. Probably the only good thing we’re the tortillas and guacamole. I guess I know what Mexican food should taste like growing up in south Texas. Plus no real Mexican restaurant sells Starbucks and pumpkin spiced cheesecake.

After a day of floating the river, my boyfriend suggested Mamacita’s. I was pretty set on Garcia’s, because their food is amazing and when am I ever in San Marcos, but he promised this place was good and he was dead set on getting me to try something new. Okaaayyy, fine. There was a wait when we got there, but I don’t remember it being too long. Maybe 15 – 20 minutes? We just plopped down in some chairs and surveyed my tubing injuries. Thanks, crazy rocks. When seated, chips and salsa were brought to our table pretty quickly. They have green salsa! It’s not the green salsa I am forever questing after, but it’ll do. I liked it, at any rate, and ate almost the entire bowl. My boyfriend ordered a margarita and I stuck with a trusty Dos Equis because I did not want all that sugar after a day of floating. I ordered the tamale plate, which comes with four tamales, rice, and beans. It was a crazy amount of food and I only managed to eat two tamales and a few bites of my rice and beans, but that meant leftovers and I love leftovers. It didn’t warm up very well, though, which was sad. They offer cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory, which sounded awesome, but we passed on that because we were so full. Service was attentive and everything was brought to our table pretty quickly, even though they were really busy. It’s more expensive than Garcia’s and the food is not as good, but I guess I’d go back if someone was dead set on eating here.

We decided to eat Mexican for lunch. We were immediately seated and order drink order was taken. I opted for a taco salad. The service is always top notch here. The food on the other hand has gone way down hill. The chicken for my salad was dry and over cooked. It was almost like jerky. I asked for creamy cilantro and it was like a gravy. I had to ask for ranch. My kid wound up not eating his Chimmicanga. I wound up bringing it home. The only good thing about the whole meal were the tortillas, which were hot and fresh. I am not sure why the food quality has gone down hill. I used to think in a pinch, we could come here, grab some descent Mexican food. I will not be going back to this place.

I am addicted to the green sauce. That is all. Just kidding. The service here is usually great, I have had very rare hiccups where there was some difficulty. The food is definitely reliable except for once catering was off a bit on the fajitas where they were just kind of too chewy. I typically get a quesadilla and call it a day, my love gets the chimichanga and we always leave full and happy.

This place is.okay. It’s not bad. it seemed a bit commercialized but the food wasn’t that bad. One of the managers came up to us at the end of the meal and introduced himself. He was really friendly and left a nice impression. The staff is great! I can say that the portions they serve you were HUGE and we only ate off the lunch menu! This was our first time here and can’t complain. It won’t be one of my regular places but I wanted to give it a try since I’d seen it in passing. They have a bar and drink specials. There’s a woman making tortillas. They have a couple of large party rooms. The place is clean and staff seems happy. They have a display case of cheesecakes that had a sign on top saying the cheesecakes are all from The Cheesecake Factory. They do have a Starbucks menu if you need your kick?! We didn’t have dessert so can’t comment on that. The place was pretty decent and I have no complaints.

I used to love this place and the last time we went 2 weeks ago it was better again but for a good 2 years anytime we went, it was just bad. I love coming here because they serve shirley temples and me and the kids love them. I’m still torn and may reduce stars if we go back and it sucks again. By suck I mean cold, bland food and overcooked fajita meat. Last time our server was filling us in on his private life. It made it awkward and he seemed in need of a hug. I do like their tortillas though.

First experience at this Mamacita’s location. I usually eat at the one in New Braunfels. The chips and dips were delicious, but the food was ok. My green enchiladas had yellow cheese instead of white(which is not what I’ve ever had before). The yellow cheese did not taste great on the green enchiladas.
