Forte Academy of the Arts

Forte Academy of the Arts is an amazing place for music lessons. We have had our son in piano since he was 3 and Mrs. Marla has been absolutely incredible to work with. Our son is thriving and taking it upon himself to practice without our having to push him. Each recital performance he grows leaps and bounds. We are so blessed and grateful to have come across Forte Academy. Do yourself a favor and sign your kids or yourself up for lessons, they even offer art lessons now!

My son has been coming to Forte Academy for over 2 years. He started off taking just piano but has moved into voice, theory & guitar. I am extremely happy with the instruction he has received.
Marla has been very accommodating with changes to our scheduling & adding/​dropping classes.

My son wanted to take voice lessons so I searched around and found Forte. When I spoke to Keith I knew this place would be a great fit for us. It is a husband and wife who own the business and they are extremely friendly and welcoming. Keith explained the financial details with us, how the lessons work, etc.
When we had our first lesson we arrived a few minutes early to sign all the paperwork (rules of the lessons, make up lessons, etc.). They are located in a little plaza on Grand Avenue and there was plenty of parking.
The Academy is very welcoming and had a great vibe. They have a very comfortable waiting area for parents with a few couches, coffee table, free WIFI, complimentary coffee and water, and a tv showing musical performances.
My son was taught by Marla (the owner) and I could hear him in the room singing a Jason Derulo song. They said they allow the kids to pick songs they like as long as they don’t have profanity or aren’t inappropriate. I thought this was an amazing way to keep my son engaged. I was able to watch him sing from the waiting room because the room has a window. I tried not to peek too much because I didn’t want to make him uncomfortable.
At the end of the first lesson, they sent him home with his own music binder which has the lyrics to the song he chose along with Marla’s notes on it and a sheet for me to sign off that he practiced singing all week. The binder was $ 3.75 and they were able to just charge my card on file. Marla explained to me what they went over in the lesson (how to breathe, etc.) and what to expect for the next week.
Excellent set up. Keith and Marla are wonderful and really helped my son feel at ease. He can’t wait to go back for his next lesson this week!

Great instructors and super friendly staff. They are more than willing to work around your schedule if you can’t make it to a lesson (as long as you let them know in advanced). Instructors are very patient and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!

We love Forte!
The instuctors here are great. The students progress at a pace that is neither too fast for them to become frustrated and not too slow that they become bored. My child has been taking lessons here (piano and voice) for about a year. Wow! My expectations have been more than exceeded.
My child enjoys going to lessons because the teacher makes it fun. I like it because she has learned so much. In fact her knowledge of music and playing has already exceeded mine. Additionally I really like the voice lessons she has received. I don’t expect her to become a professional singer but I love that she is learning how to sing in her own voice and breathe properly while singing.

I’m 40 years old and learning to play guitar! John is teaching my sister and me and he is very knowledgeable, professional, fun, and patient. We attended the make up class where Marla taught us so much in just 1 hour on music theory. I love how I’m challenged but also am learning at my pace. The Unilocal coupon brought me here but the great experience keeps me coming back for more.

My 5 year old got a guitar for her birthday and I needed to find someone to teach her how to play it and I found Forte online called it up and spoke with Mrs. Marla she was very nice. So we went in and met with Austin who teaches guitar lessons. He is a great teacher with lots of patients. This is a great family owned business. Everyone here makes you feel like you are apart of their family. Not like just a client. Very affordable. A great place for kids and adults to learn to explore there music interest.

My son has been taking piano and drum lessons here for about a month now and we are very happy with the instruction. Every week my son looks forward to seeing Tyler and «Ms.Marla.» They are both very patient with my very active son and that is very much appreciated. Marla is also very pleasant to be around and her energy and enthusiasm are infectious. We really enjoy coming here week to week and would highly recommend it, especially for younger students!
