1 star seems a little harsh right? Let me explain my reasoning. 1st off I want to start by saying yes, she does do well on doing PARTIAL highlights. Here’s what really bothered me about her ethics on business. I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you that I felt that I was overcharged after I used a voucher from living social. Things quickly changed with pricing once it was discovered that I would be redeeming the voucher. Red flag. I paid $ 65 for that voucher that entitled me to a «$ 130 valued service». In addition to that I was charged $ 60 more from her at the end thrown in last minute, making it a «$ 190 service.» When we did the acessment of my hair, I came in ALREADY with ombré ends that went about a little more than half up my head. I had told her I wanted the partial highlights to blend my roots to my ombré so the demarcation line wasn’t so harsh. Now we both know you did not do my ombré. I had that prior to coming in. BEFORE she started applying foils in my hair, she asked again«so you basically want partial highlights yes?» And I replied yes. This service was not for a full balayage ombré highlight, which I did not see the reason to charge the extra $ 60 which she claims that she balayaged and did my ombré. Absolutely not the case. She abolutely did not balayage or ombré my hair, she did partial highlights. What upsets me the most, is many hair dressers can take advantage of clients because of their unfamiliarness with the beauty industry and hair techniques which I feel I am not her first client to try to finagle this last minute bait and switch of pricing. I didn’t want to argue or debate it because she had a client waiting for quite some time standing literally right outside her sliding door and then came in when pricing was discussed. She really put a bad taste in my mouth, especially after I told her I work two jobs and still take care of my mother that is stage 4 breast cancer that’s spread to her bones and I haven’t had the time to get my hair done in over a year. Do not come here if you want to get taken advantage of financially for your hair, ie your hair dresser saying your parital highlights done to your hair are a $ 190 serivce now. BTW On her own website cost of partial highlights are $ 65 and up, FULLHEAD of a highlights are $ 100, and I didn’t even get that and she wants to charge like she is… unbelivable.

Amanda is friendly and always looks out for your best interest when it comes coloring or cutting hair. The prices are reasonable which is a sure plus. I will absolutely go back for her services and refer anyone to her. She is wonderful and a pleasure to be around.
