I recently moved back to the Austin area after living in Seattle for the last year. Up in Seattle, it’s pretty common to not have an a/c unit in one’s residence. I get back to Austin, and it’s stinkin’ hot. No bueno. So, my 8-month pregnant wife and I moved into a condo here in Austin about a month ago, and right out of the gate, our a/c does not cool efficiently. We’d set the a/c to 75 degrees, and by 4 or 5 o’ clock in the afternoon, it’d be around 87 degrees in our home. Think about it… hot house, over-heating 8-month pregnant wife — this is a bad combo. Before contacting AirOne, we had 4 different a/c companies’ technicians come over to «diagnose» and fix our system. Our property manager decided he would need a second, third, and fourth opinion on whether we should fix or replace the a/c unit. None of these technicians took the time or made the personal effort to really diagnose our system. A couple of these a/c companies sent a guy who came over and spent 5 – 10 minutes at the most looking at the system and making a diagnosis — no tools were involved, just empty promises and broken dreams. Seriously. My wife and I would be told one thing, just to have another technician tell us something else. Basically, we were not in good shape. As a last effort, we called AirOne. I explained my situation and they made the exception to pay us a visit from San Marcos. Lance, the owner of the company, came over and spent time running diagnostics with actual tools and he explained the results of the tests. He checked the indoor and the outdoor unit, replenished the coolant, and made sure that we understood why the temperatures were getting so high during the day. He not only made recommendations but explained what his thought process was behind those recommendations. Needless to say, our a/c is working better than ever, and has been holding in the 70 degree range since Lance’s work. All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend AirOne for all things a/c. If only they were located in Austin!
