This venue is all around amazing! I literally cannot speak more highly of it & its methods. The eclectic décor is awesome & I LOVE browsing the perimeter of the store for various unique & useful items. The kitchen section is my fav!!! My friend does a lot of cooking as was very impressed as well. I had a chai tea, the Mediterranean salad, & brusselsprouts & the chicken as my main course. It was SO good. He had the kale salad, French fries, & a burger & he was extremely happy & full too. They serve breakfast too & the fresh squeezed orange juice is KILLER good! You have got to try Winslow’s too!

The service at Winslow’s Home gets worse with every visit. The staff is not friendly(to the customers), but they sure like to talk to each other a lot instead of helping the customers. The food has also gone downhill. The once very tasty, moist, flavorful turkey burger is now a bland, flavorless patty. I hope Winslow’s will take this feedback and refocus on the customers.

Great food and beautiful atmosphere! I only ranked at four because of the Bloody Mary. My boyfriend and I both got breakfast and the over easy eggs were cooked perfectly, the home fries were crunchy and yummy, and the bacon was delightful! Like I said, my only down side was the Bloody Mary. For $ 7.50 it wasn’t all that I expected — it was small and the only flavor I tasted was pepper… It was missing something! Other than that, the food was great as was the décor.

We stayed on the other end of Delmar Blvd at the Moonrise Hotel and walked to Winslow’s(about 2 miles). Good thing too, because I needed to walk off the food that I consumed! We ate breakfast here a couple times and both were excellent and satisfying meals. I had a breakfast burrito and my friend had an egg sandwich the first time, then I tried the egg sandwich and she had the basic breakfast on our second visit. The portions are not monstrous, but just right(whew). The potatoes were crispy and not greasy, eggs cooked perfectly. I’m pretty sure even the salsa that I had on the side of my burrito was made from scratch. We both had their dark roast coffee, which is Mississippi Mud(another great St. Louis business) and couldn’t drink enough of it. Cute, general store vibe inside with various sized wooden tables for seating different size groups. Get there on the early side so you can grab a table inside or outside on the patio. As it gets closer to noon, a line starts to form and you may have a wait. There’s also a bunch of sweet and savory items in the bakery case as well as a refrigerated section with soups, salads and quiches too, so, you can get that and a coffee to go. Nice folks working here too. If I lived in the area I’d definitely be here every week and be a regular. **Also, as everyone has mentioned: get some goat cheese cookies! The cookie is substantial and quite dense with a slight hint of goat cheese and a lemon glaze on top. Delicious!

Fell in love with Winslow’s. In my 4 days in STL, I had 2 breakfasts there. We stayed on the other end of Delmar Loop, so each time we took a 2.5 mile stroll over to Winslow’s. They never disappointed. I am now officially a fan of Mississippi Mud Italian Roast, in a bottomless cup. I tried both the breakfast scramble and the breakfast sandwich. Both freshly made and excellent. My friend bought the goat cheese cookies for a later snack and they were so delicious and different. Inside the restaurant, there are several interesting things for sale, and the chunky wood interior is so very interesting. There are several things to take with you on the food side as well, and had we not been walking around, we probably would have grabbed lunch as well. A true gem in the neighborhood.

Great breakfast. I had the breakfast plate, the biscuit was so good and the jelly was fantastic! The pancakes are very good, try banana nut-tastes like banana bread on steroids! Prices are not too bad, $ 4 for a side of sausage is a bit high! And their speciality coffee drinks are up there. They serve Mississippi Mud coffee which is very good and some Companion bread products which are always good. They have a pretty good size outside dining area along Delmar with nice size umbrellas. We got there at 8:15 on Wednesday and had no trouble finding a table but when we were leaving a little after 9, it was quite busy. I will be back to try their lunch!

I went here for the first time and loved it. The ambiance is very calm and relaxing. The croissants were DELICIUOS! I ordered the chicken salad… it was pretty good, just wish the serving size was a little bit bigger. And when you come in, don’t get discouraged by the line… it moves quick! I will definitely be going back!

What if Cracker Barrel restaurants were made by foodie hipsters? You can easily answer that question with a trip to Winslow’s Home, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. It’s so impossibly twee it’s almost unbearable, and the food is on par with the perfection of the décor. The goods for sale that line wall provide plenty of conversation fodder, but the place still feels roomy and comfortable. This is a can’t miss, impressive spot.

I love Winslow’s goat cheese cookie! I could stop my review there but there’s a few more awesome things I’ll share about Winslow’s. It’s sort of like a General Store/Diner/Winery/French Bakery type of spot. So much goodness in a single location. The feeling you get when you walk in is like a down home restaurant or tiny version of Cracker Barrel. Grab a patio seat on a beautiful summer day or a window seat inside on a brisk winter morning. They serve breakfast and please know the pancakes are splendid! They also prepare my egg whites to perfection with a house made strawberry preserve that makes me wanna slap my mama. If you’d like to take some of their goodness to-go do check out the cooler for pot pies, cheeses, soups, desserts and more. Now that I’ve got that out of the way let’s talk service; it’s great! Very hospitable, accommodating and friendly. I don’t eat a lot of different things when I stop by Winslow’s so to say I visit for variety would be a stretch… however the staples & excellent service do keep me coming back for more. ~Christy

I really like the atmosphere of this place. It was a little chaotic when I was here and I had a hard time trying to get around with a baby. Since this was my first time I had to figure out where to get coffee and where the restrooms were. There is only one restroom and I feel like that is terrible. I had multiple people knocking on the door, but I was trying to change my baby’s diaper. A little annoying for people that had to wait. The coffee was tasty, and the food was pretty good. I had the beef hash and it was good, flavorful and tender. I also had the goat cheese cookie, and I absolutely loved it! I will definitely be back for breakfast, it’s a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy good food and coffee.

Take it from a regular — Winslow’s Home is worth a look. The menu is relatively small, but there is sufficient variety to please every palate and the farm-to-table theme is more that lip service — it’s real here, and it makes a difference in the food. As for the food, if you like sprouts, you have to try their unique take. All of the entrees are worthy, and you can make a satisfying and interesting meal just splitting appetizers and salads tapas-style. Although their selection of wine and liquor for sale is impressive, their small bar selection is their weak point — it’s solid, but not a lot of variety. The ambiance is casual and the staff(from Josh and Chris on down) is attentive and courteous. A good place for a healthy and relaxing meal — and don’t miss the bakery case!

TRYTHEGOATCHEESECOOKIE That being said, I moved here in Oct. and my neighbors gave me a giftcard to this place so I walked up there on a nice saturday(I live half a mile away). Place was PACKED. thats a good sign!(bad sign if you are trying to find seating tho). You order and take a number back to your seat. Great selection of food to order from. Fresh farm-to-table concept. We ordered a breakfast burrito and a hash of some sort– delicious They also have a little grocery area you can bring some snacks and drinks home with you. Dont skip the bakery! I believe they have alcohol here so I will probably be back this spring for a wine and goat cheese cookies and a book lol

Props for being fun and unique. Winslow’s has an interesting mix of coffee, baked goods, toys, and gifts. While the vibe really makes it seem like a great place to work or study, there’s no wifi! So it’s on my list of good places for a first date, but because of the wifi situation, I can’t be a regular.

Yesssss brunch yessss. I went with a friend around 11 on a Saturday. I do not recommend that time, it was super busy. We sat outside though, which was fine. Service was great. Even though they were busy we were checked up on frequently. I love the menu– it was hard to choose one thing. It’s small but there’s a decent variety. Definitely a fan of the bakery selections. I got a latte and the avocado toast meal. Delicious! They were even able to do half a shot of espresso like I requested. Food came out quickly for how busy they were. Also, if you want to buy cute little stl gifts they have specialty items for sale.

I love this place! Not only is a a hip café but they sell cool toys for kids. The pastries are delicious. I had the Winslow bar. It was rich but so good. I also had the avocado and egg sandwich which my month old baby loved! My husband had the breakfast burrito which was great! They were really crowded so go at an off time if you don’t like that.

Winslow’s Home is a good choice for food in St. Louis. They have a diverse menu, with lots of choices for both vegetarians and carnivores. I tried the chocolate chip pancakes, the breakfast burrito, and the daily quiche. All were very good, although none were the best I’ve had. The best of the things I tried was the pancakes. The flow of the restaurant is a little strange, but works with the number of people coming in and out. You wait in line to order food, wait for a table after ordering, and they bring your food to you.

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally we decided to venture over there and check it out. First off, both my husband and I love the old architecture of the house both inside and out. The decorative ceiling, old bookshelves with rail ladder, and marble tables we immediately felt comfortable. We were greeted by a nice employee who explained that we pick up a menu and then order at the bakery. One thing we love about places is a small yet interesting menu and this describes Winslow’s. After some deliberating, I decided on the Avocado Toast and Dan got the Two Egg Breakfast(very typical! ;)). We were sat at a community table and enjoyed our coffee while we waited for our food. They were brewing Mississippi Mud Italian Roast which I had never tasted and we both really enjoyed the flavor. While waiting, we had the opportunity to look around at the unique gifts, groceries, and wine available. We will be coming back to pick up some gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas! Our food arrived very quickly and beautifully plated. I love avocado and the combination of fresh avocado and a perfectly cooked fried egg was a delightful flavor experience. Accompanying the toast was a mixed green side salad lightly dressed with a honey vinaigrette dressing was good though lacked some needed pepper which I added. Dan was very happy with his two eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast, which I got to taste the bacon and toast and they were both excellent. We enjoyed our entire visit to Winslow’s Home and will be back, hopefully with friends and family.

What a cute cute place! I’ve always passed by Winslow’s Home but wasn’t sure what it was exactly. A friend had recommended it recently so I set this location as our book club location. The staff was very accommodating in making a reservation with our larger party of 10. I fell in love when I walked in the door. This is one of my favorite types of ambiance — a farmhouse feel. It definitely feels farm-to-table. The menu was full of unique blends of flavors and combinations. In hindsight, I didn’t make a great choice for my entrée but it was good. Everyone else that got it loved it. It’s just not in my usual repertoire. It was a black bean and butternut squash enchilada. I had the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert and it was divine. The walls are full of things to buy — toys, wines and wine accessories, cookbooks, cards/small gifts and kitchen wares. I can’t wait to return here — especially for a brunch.

Randy and Ann have done an amazing job in creating this total comfort food locale. Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day at Winslow’s Home. .. as well as lunch and dinner. And for the gifts that keep on giving, anything in their bakery is ideal. We’ve made many a delicious impression on our UC family and friends.

Went here for a brunch on a Saturday at around 10 am, and it was busy! You order at the pastry line and then seat yourself while the food is brought out to you. Even though it was busy, there were several tables still available, and we didn’t have to wait in line very long. The coffee was good(unlimited refills for black coffee). The prices are reasonable to high, depending on if you’re getting breakfast or lunch. I got the avocado on toast and my friend got the egg sandwich. We both enjoyed our food, and the environment in Winslows is perfect for brunch chats. The portions were perfect, not too much but not too little either. My biggest complaint is that we did have to wait a bit for our food(I’m guessing half an hour).

I want to love Winslow’s since I live nearby and the atmosphere is great. Definitely some recent improvements on the layout and finally putting the baked good behind a closed case. I find the food inconsistent — sometimes exceptional and other times disappointing. Sometimes service is great and other times there seems to be a food flow problem. Some food items are good value and others are over priced. Even their lattes are inconsistent. The last time I had to ask for an extra shot because it definitely didn’t have the quality of previous visits. I will definitely continue to come, although trying to time it when it’s less crowded.

A really cute space with a lot of random merchandise, rustic décor, and a lovely well-shaded front patio. Check out the witty post cards. I spent at least 15 minutes just browsing through them. The brunch food is only slightly above average. I enjoyed my raspberry pancakes — hot and fresh and very moist. But I didn’t care for the others I tried: the salmon hash was overcooked(fish was almost chewy), the brisket was too sweet. Overall, there really weren’t too many exciting options. Do come for the atmosphere. You will enjoy it if you are not expecting the food to knock you off your feet.

What can I say about Winslow’s Home that hasn’t already been said? I had my first meal here last night for dinner and if I had to sum up my experience in three words, they would be quaint, craftsmanship, and special. The exterior and interior of this restaurant made me feel like I was transported to an old English bakery/market/bookstore/coffee shop. I decided to go alfresco because it was such a nice evening out. There were huge canopy umbrellas outside which were nice to shield the sun, and the patio is anchored by two beautiful displays of apple trees with lights and cabbage plants. Two groups of diners brought their dogs with them which was acceptable. I had the Winslow’s burger, which was delicious! The bacon jam and flavored pickles matched well with the seasoning of the burger. The fries were good also. My only complaint was that i had to wait a while for my check, however I will say that I was by myself and in a rush. Had I been there with others and not in such a hurry, the wait would probably not have been so noticeable(eventhough i saw that another table who finished their meal after I did received their check before I did and I had to ask a different waitress from mine to get my check). Now that being said, I was fully prepared to give Winslow’s Home a 4⁄5 based on all of this, but they earned a 5⁄5 due to the two cookies that I bought from their bakery. I had a goat cheese cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. Both were SUPERB!!! Now I have had a ton of chocolate chip cookies in my lifetime and i dare say that this was the BEST chocolate chip cookie that I have EVER had! It was large, fresh, full of chocolate chunks, and soft. I can only imagine how delectable it would have been if it was warm. As for the goat cheese cookie, i had read that it was a crowd favorite and now I understand why. It tasted like a soft, thick sugar cookie with slight lemon zest/flavor with goat cheese on top to balance the flavors. It was amazing! I can’t wait to go again to get more of the menu and to get more cookies! This place is like a hidden gem in the middle of St. Louis. It is unique in its offerings and its style compared to other restaurants. Winslow’s Home succeeds in its mission to create a «farm-to-table» experience for its guests in that you can literally taste the craftsmanship, creativity, and care that was put into each item on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant, if you couldn’t tell.

I’m going to have to come back for lunch one of these days. I had plate envy at brunch this am as my father in law’s French toast with berries looked glorious and another’s farmer market salad looked delish. I had salmon hash which was fine– sweet potato chunks with pickled onions and bits of salmon topped with two eggs. My hubs had a turkey sandwich that he thought was going to be an eggs Benedict with turkey as the sandwich was on the menu as «turkey Benedict». He was slightly disappointed, but the sandwich he got was good. And really good coffee! You order at the counter here and hey then bring he food to you. Meanwhile the perimeter walls are stocked with various linens, kitchen gadgets and tools, and takeaway food items. Also, toys. Caution for those with little peeps… You my come away with an unexpected toy purchase.

Winslow’s Home is truly an original and one-of-a-kind in Saint Louis. Mixing great baked goods(savory and sweet) with great farm to table style foods with a general store with kitchen and home essentials, a very nice bottled wine selection, locally made small batch food and drink items, a menu that I believe changes daily, this place will not leave you bored or lacking for variety. The people at Winslow’s are real deal chefs and exude care and pride in their work and the food being served. Service is market/cafeteria style and always friendly. Ask questions, for recommendations, and all the information you crave and they will oblige with a smile. Lunchtime is usually always busy and many people seem to decide to do takeout however if you’ve never visited this place, plan to sit down and enjoy your meal with a nice buffer of time built in to allow some leisurely browsing through the store. They have a lot of things to see and buy here that will grab your attention for sure! Besides all of that the food great so get over there and get to know the creative people and the myriad tastes they churn out!

Why haven’t I found you in life earlier Winslow? This place is magical. The atmosphere is a very small grocery store, decent coffee, and excellent food. I had the pancakes and the homemade biscuit, egg white, and avocado sandwich! In addition, the mushroom toast my friend had looked ridiculously edlish. This place is where you take a first low key date. There is white noise in the background, comfortable atmosphere, and coffee. All and all, I will be back to do some work here at some point. I will say that it’s probably slightly pricey than the average coffee house, but you get what you pay for in the end. FYI. No wifi :(

I feel utterly torn about Winslow’s Home. We’ve been here 3x’s. Our 1st visit was amazing. It was a Friday night I was only stopping in to grab a shoo fly pie $ 5 to go and we became engrossed in the establishment so we stayed for dinner. Our waiter was Andrew whom is awesomely amazing!!! If you go ask for him. He knows the menu inside and out and is very patient and friendly. I was soo impressed by the experience including the staff, food and ambiance I spread the word and we returned on a Tuesday with my sister. The food is sooo hit and miss and this is what confuses me. I love the complementary bread and spread you receive while waiting to order. It changes with each visit. I love it that they serve breakfast all day. I’ve eaten the smoked chicken salad which is visually appealing but taste wise is only OK. We’ve also tried the Cuban and Torta Rustica which were good. We ordered this app of the day which I call adult bacon and eggs. It was absolutely delicious!!! It was crispy pork belly with an egg, pickled cabbage and apples served on top of toasted multi grain bread. They sadly don’t offer apps daily but when they do, I’d definitely try them. I was extremely dissatisfied and highly disappointed with the $ 22 fried chicken dinner and that awfully disgusting shoo fly pie. First let’s begin with the fried chicken. The sides were delicious the smoked Gouda mac-n-cheese and brussel sprouts but that chicken was terrible. The manager said it’s seasoned with old bay. I don’t think so!!! I knew it wasn’t right when it was placed in front of me and the smell was sickening, so of course it tasted like it smelled. The manager replaced it with their citrus Cuban grilled chicken but why was there only 1 piece, a breast, when you get ½ a chicken in the fried chicken dinner??? Now, let’s discuss that sorry excuse for a pie. The crust sucked!!! The filling in no way had any touch of sweetness and it’s supposedly made with molasses. It’s an incredibly charming store with the cutest setup and ambiance. The staff is friendly but they gotta get a handle on the quality of food served.

Fresh, local, yummy food. We want there for breakfast. Let’s start with the negatives — this place is a little overwhelming. For people that like organized surroundings this place might bother you. There is stuff everywhere! Also, the line was a little disorganized. They took our order but never have us a number so I had to find someone to ask how we would ever get our food(they have us a number then). The coffee is made and you have to stand there to make sure someone doesn’t grab yours. All those things are tolerable though after you eat the food. My husband got the corned beef and hash. It was tasty but unlike any corn beef he had gotten before — certainly fresh. I got the egg sandwich– so delicious, add avocado and bacon! I like that there are options to grab and go. For people wanted to eat local this is another great spot to do so. And you will have to go back just to make sure you have seen all they have to offer.

If you’re considering visiting Winslow’s Home for a casual breakfast or lunch the answer is «YES!» First off, this place is the very definition of homey/folksy. It looks like an inviting home from the outside and a market on the inside. This place is happening. It’s going to be crowded on weekdays and the weekends so be prepared. I came in around 1PM midweek and it was the tail-end of the rush but still pretty packed. I went with the egg sandwich(added avocado for extra) and a vanilla bean donut. The egg sandwich was great but nothing terribly unique. The MVP of this meal was the Vanilla Bean donut. It was the best vanilla icing I’ve ever tasted and the donut was perfect. Seriously, this tasted more like a gourmet pastry than anything else. This isn’t a full service establishment so keep that in mind if you’re looking to get waited on. Side note, you can grab some wine or other kitchen essentials on your way out if you need it… including farm fresh items!
