First time to have a white castle burger … these are gross! Never again :-( No reflection on the staff, just the food.

I had an intimate dinner with some close, personal friends and to make this dinner more intimate i brought place cards and candles to the restaurant. The staff regrettably informed me that I could not use the candles due to safety issues so I opted for the flashing tactical strobe light that was located in my trunk. For the dinner I chose a sparkly, sequined black cocktail dress accompanied by pearls and black stilettos. Before my guests arrived, I ordered 40 burgers with cheese and five orders of French fries. The chef grilled the burgers to perfection. They threw in a wonderful zesty robust ketchup for free. The fries has a delicate crispy crust. I arranged the burgers pyramid style on a platter in the center of the table. My friends feasted on these wonderful burgers and fries and even had shakes for dessert. Afterward we congregated in the parking lot where I served wine out of my trunk. It was a fun and festive evening that will be remembered for years to come.

I’m a native Southern Californian so I’m always comparing burger chains to IN&OUT. This was the first time I’ve ever eaten at White Castle and possibly the last. The sliders were ok and the price point was very good. However, the fries were cold and starchy. My only concern would be what’s in the meat but I guess if it’s 2am in the morning and you’ve had too much to drink it doesn’t matter.

I tried the new Veggie Slider last week and was craving another one. I am a closet whitie junkie.

I love White Castle, so the key for me isn’t finding an item I like, but finding a location that does a good job with the food. This White Castle restaurant meets that goal, and then some! The service is fast, which with some White Castles taking forever makes this a winner. Also, the food is always hot when I drive-through, the inside is new and clean since they tore down the old one and built this one right next to it(it was weird how they did that), plus the employees are very nice. There have been times I’ve ordered some items a la carte, but they have rung it up a value meal and told me they were doing it because I get the same items but it saves me money, which is very thoughtful of them! When gauging this White Castle against other ones I have been to this one would rank as my favorite. I think that tells you a lot, and if you’re a fellow White Castle lover then give this spot a shot!

OK I am not a White Castle hater. Nor am I a fast food snob. But this location has been closed for months. I used to get my coffee here in the morning. Always was waited on by the same person for 20 years. She knew me by name. Me I am terrible but I don’t know hers. Sorry I was writing a review here. So I drive by this location for about 6 months going and coming from work. Closed, closed during Lent so no fish nuggets, closed over Christmas, not that it matters as I never go on Christmas but someone does. OK it was closed and I am just craving a White Castle burger. It’s grand reopening is today May 5th. To many it is Cinco De Mayo. To me it has always been my mother’s birthday. She would have been 98 years old today. Oh yeah I came here had some Castles with the wife went home and cooked a great meal for the wife and I. Damn I went off subject again. OKOK. What do you want from a review of Whitey? Jeepers it is a White Castle and it is opened again. And I somehow missed it when it was closed. Hope my gal is there tomorrow when I get my coffee.

I wish I could rate White Castle on a «slider» scale(pun definitely intended). On one hand, when I close down the bars and crave some greasy fast food, the sound of White Castle morphs me into Harold and Kumar in search of the almighty slider. On the other hand, when I’m sober, the thought of White Castle makes my stomach turn more times than Jimmy Johnson at Daytona. Considering I am sober 98% of the time, my review is based on this perspective. I love dirty little burger joints. I don’t care if the local health agency gives someplace a «C» rating as long as I don’t get sick from E-Coli and the food tastes good. I also love a business that advertises selling a «20 sack» outside the state of Colorado and Washington. While the cleanliness of White Castle probably does pass with a «C» rating and I will never get E-Coli from there(because the thickness of the patties is no bigger than an empty envelope), the quality is below average and 20 sack means 20 sliders, not something else. Just for the purpose of this review I had to try out White Castle again. On a recent trip to the Manchester location in west St. Louis, I got a couple cheese burger sliders and chicken sliders with fries. I guess I forgot how little meat you get on a slider because it tasted like a beef flavored bun. The chicken sliders were a little better but I tasted more breading than actual chicken. Talk about a carbo load. To be fair, I do usually get the double cheese burgers so you can taste the meat more. And usually I put some hot sauce on the chicken sandwich. I didn’t this time. The prices were a little higher than I remembered for what you get. Again, thanks Harold and Kumar! That being said, I think the allure of White Castle has more to due with the promotion of Hollywood and scarcity of location than it does the actual quality of the food. My home city of Omaha still doesn’t have one. I really hope we do get a White Castle though so it can be used by state troopers as a 24-hour sobriety checkpoint more than an actual restaurant. Will I ever go back? Probably. I’m sure someday one of my friends will again convince me there is no better hangover remedy than«those tender little White Castle burgers, with those little itty bitty grilled onions that just explode in your mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.» I just hope that day isn’t anytime soon.

OK so if you are looking for some good hearty fast food then this is not the place. Don’t get me wrong the miniburgers were semi tasty but we practically tried them all and if I had to do it again the only ones I would rebuy would be the BBQ pulled pork(kind of reminded me of the chinese bbq pork bun filling in a weird not exactly similar way) and the fish burger(which really needs tartar sauce). Oh and not to mention the sweet potato fries, don’t go with just the small make sure to get the sack if you like sweet potatoes. I enjoyed the fries a lot but mostly because of the sweet cinnemon sauce it comes with. Cheeseburger: doesn’t taste that bad if you just want to try it, but don’t want another. Small meat patty, not too much special. Fish Burger: reminds me of a filet-o-fish which I like a lot but in small portion. Still though missing the tartar sauce so bring some or get food togo and add it at home. Bacon Cheeseburger: Didn’t try but my friend didn’t entirely enjoy. Chicken breast burger: normal fried chicken, meh Chicken Rings: regular chicken strip style but in ring, not too special in taste. Only comes with ranch, bbq, or honey mustard. No sweet n sour =( Sweet Potato Fries: Sauce is key

…It’s White castle… I’m one of the«haters» but they have recently introduced«breakfast-castles» which seems to redeem their little burgers a bit in my mind. If you find yourself at white castle with a bunch of friends that actually enjoy the place, go for a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast castle. It’s as far away as you can get from a REAL white castle burger.

A culinary delight. Might need a little seltzer after 6 – 8 of them but it’s worth it. In college in Cape Girardeau someone from our floor would make White Castle runs to the one in South County, Festus.
