I am surprised by the other review, I’m not disputing it at all, but I have been to this store frequently as I work by the brewery and I have not experienced the same atmosphere. I have only once been asked for change by a man outside and I think that is pretty common in that neighborhood. I give this location 5 stars for the outstanding staff, they really are great!

First things first. The pharmacists at this location are outstanding. And quite frankly they deserve better. Decent people should not be required to place themselves in harm’s way by being forced to go to this location just to get prescriptions filled.
My wife and I have individually been threatened by a homeless man wielding a golf club, solicited for prostitution, offered drugs and been harassed by aggressive panhandlers in this store’s parking lot. In a phone conversation, the store’s manager told me the store should «have a fence around the entire parking lot with 24-​hour police protection, because the neighborhood makes the store unsafe.» Wow!
Unfortunately, for those of us who live in Soulard, Lafayette and other decent neighborhoods, we’re left with the Walgreen’s on Lafayette, which has ridiculous banker’s hours, or Hampton Avenue if we feel the need to be safe.
If you’re wondering why people stay away from the City, this is one of the reasons.
If you can find a different pharmacy in a safer neighborhood that your insurance will accept, run don’t walk.
