Honestly the WORST service I’ve ever had in my life. And the tuna was dark purple and rotten looking. I hope this place catches on fire.

Bartenders were awesome! Best service by far. Music was good but turned a little to techno/dance for me towards the end. If you like that style then this is a great choice.

I wish I had much more to say about this place other than they have great sushi and the bartender was super nice and made great drinks. There was literally no one there when I went(Wednesday evening).

I like trying places that are different, places that have something new to offer. I assume you’re interested in the same, or you wouldn’t be on Unilocal.Well if you’re looking for new and different, you can stop your search now because Rue 13 has it covered. Sporting burlesque shows, 80s night, sushi, bar stools, comfy chairs and a dance floor, R13 is certainly a hodgepodge, but in a fun way. If you want to reduce the amount of randomness you will encounter, check the schedule before you go. You don’t want to arrive expecting to enjoy some Philadelphia rolls and sake only to encounter burlesque dancers shakin’ it for a bachelorette party.

Friday nights at Rue 13 are the best. Fridays are 80s nights, filled with wonderful(and terrible) music from the 1980s, as well as a touch of 80s fashion here and there. The drinks can be a little pricey, but if you arrive early there is no(or a very minimal) cover charge and you can make sure to grab a table before the crowd arrives. There is nothing fancy or pretentious about this place, it’s just pure fun!

I only hit up Rue 13 on Friday nights for 80s night and it is the best workout ever. The music is all that music I know and remember(or maybe not remember but it sounds good) and the crowd is so diverse across age, race, whatever. It’s like 80s music is the equivalent of a big group hug.

Came here only for the Victorian Fetish Ball. And it was kind of a joke. Firstly, they didn’t even have HALF of the stuff they’d promised. And my date and I dropped a ton on VIP tickets for a measly little tiny-ass VIP area with barely enough seating for all of the so called«VIP» ticket-holders. The bar was a joke too… long-ass line and they didn’t take cards at the bar nearest VIP area so we had to get through a large, compact crowd to get drinks at the other bar. The drinks are only so/so. Better than I expected but then again I did not have high expectations despite the promise of firebreathers and stiltwalkers. Around 1am we were hankering for some raw fish so we went to the sushi bar. Again, a joke. INSANELY overpriced only so/so quality. If you are looking for nightlife, go elsewhere. Looking for sushi? Go elsewhere. Even Mizu is better than Rue 13 and it’s pretty darned expensive too. But at least the food is better. I probably won’t be coming back to Rue 13 unless I catch word of it getting better!

What’s all the hub-bub? This place was a joke. We went last night(Saturday) and were walking down the sidewalk when we noticed a fight going on. Only not really a fight, just some punks shouting at each other, doing the whole«hold me back, hold me back!» sort of thing… as in… too chickenshit to actually throw a punch but they’ll make a good show of it. Turned to my friends and said, «Wait, this is where we’re going?» Standing in line we also noticed some guy going off on how«BULLSHIT!» it is that he was asked to remove his ballcap. Seriously… the biggest little bitchfit I’ve ever seen come out of a man. You would think I would have turned around and left by now. $ 8 cover. For what? A flashy laser light show in a bar flooded with cigarette smoke and a completely empty dance floor. Except for the ocassional techno geek kid breakin’ it down for two seconds and then retreating from the floor. Oh, and some chick up over the floor dancing in some cage looking like she absolutely hates her life. Oh and some chickenheads got kicked out for being too drunk, and another guy threw some dude into a table and made a big scene and got thrown out. This was all in about a half hour. This place is just full of class, you have no idea. We stayed a little bit since we paid the money, and made our own fun on the dance floor(noticed that the floor filled up a little bit after we set it in motion) but then we peaced out to find something better. Like Pepper Lounge. No way am I going back here. Sorry Rue 13. Your first impression completely blew it.

Used to be cool, but now they charge $ 2 for water. Is that legal? When you’re drinking, hydration is important, and i kind of thought it was a human right.

Oh, Rue 13. I used to hang out here back when I first moved to St. Louis. I was 23 and loooooved to party! Not that I don’t love to party still, but just in different ways :) Back then, my idea of a good time was $ 1 sake bombs during a MySpace meetup. Sheesh! Needless to say I hadn’t been back here in a long time. Until the other night, when it was late and I had barely eaten all day. It was a toss-up between Side Bar and Rue 13. Side Bar is cool for drinking, but I’ve never been a fan of their food. So Rue 13 won by process of elimination. Surprisingly, their sushi was way better than I remembered. It could be that I ordered the most expensive roll ever($ 27 for a roll — in St. Louis???), but it was really delicious. Lobster, crab and shrimp combinations are most definitely my favorites. And if they can find a way to incorporate cream cheese into the equation, I’m all over it. So $ 55 later(no joke!), I left Rue 13 satisfied. And with leftovers. Could I afford to do this every week? Hell no! But it was a surprisingly refreshing late-night dinner. And the leftovers kept nicely. I would suggest getting your food to-go, as it smells kind of like fish inside. And as many prior reviews have indicated, the clientele isn’t my cup o’ tea. But we got our food pretty quickly and got the hell out.

Two words: 80’s NIGHT. Awesome music and videos, that nasty couch, skeezy guys trying to rub up on you, all in all a great evening. $ 6 to get in ain’t bad either. And the next day you can go on their website and find incriminating pictures of yourself in very unflattering poses.

We went here on a Friday night and they were having their«That 80s Club» theme that night. It was fun dancing to non-stop 80s classics. I also appreciated that the cover charge was only $ 6. I prefer these types of casual clubs where you can just be yourself and have fun.

This place has«cool» appeal, but the inside is kinda fruity — fruity, as in tropical; Becasue I swear I saw a palm tree on the inside, but that could have just been the gin. I’m kinda confused why more people don’t come here, especially considering they have awesome drink specials. I guess the competition on Washington ave is now official force to overcome.

Tried Rue 13 last night for a quick sushi bite before heading to the Fox Theatre for an 8pm show. We got there around 6pm and the place was relatively empty. Happy hour specials from 5pm –9pm was nice with discounts on domestic beers and double shots in mixed drinks for the price of one shot. We ordered edamame and 2 sushi rolls. Edamame came out fairly quickly, but was over salted and overcooked(read, mushy). Sushi was really great, but took 30+ minutes to get to us(one other group of people in the restaurant had an order ahead of us and there was only one sushi chef). We had the california roll(with real crab), yum and the spicy yellowtail roll, which was great and had srichacha mayonnaise. Overall food was great, but atmosphere left something to be desired. Didn’t get to stick around for the dance party, but have heard those are fun.

We came into town for a conference for Medical Student for Choice and were lookin’ for some hot STL action in a Saturday night. Boy did we find it here. This place is awesome, cheap drinks and a reduced cover due to our large group size. And– the best part of the whole thing — the amazing burlesque show! Fabulous! Thank you Rue 13 and the Albino Kitties for making out brief stay on St. Louis amazing!

There’s a really good 80’s night here, with music videos on a variety of flat-screen TVs and movie screens. Sometimes, people get dressed up like Zack Morris and dance their little hearts out. It’s not exactly my kind of fun, but it’s entertaining to watch. There’s also the Albino Alley Cat burlesque troop, which is pretty entertaining as well. Most of the time, I’ve gotten decent service, but recently, I’ve noticed my wait for a simple mixed drink has gotten longer(believe me, I do tip well so that shouldn’t be an issue) due to the bartenders serving their friends before others. I’ve had sushi here, but it was a while ago. It was good, but I can’t mix a smoky establishment and raw fish… so I’ve only ordered a California Roll.

The first time I went to Rue 13 was for their 80’s night where they have old music video projected onto the walls. Well, that’s basically the only time that I go there. But when I do go, I have a blast. All my friends do as well. We’re the people that you see on the dance floor the entire night making fools of ourselves and probably having way too much fun for any sane person. Rue 13 is a fun place to go to besides dancing maniac to 80’s music. They also have a nice bar where the alcohol just keeps flowing the entire night till the dreaded last call. In the back are some pool tables for those who enjoy pretending to be Minnesota Fats while they play a game of 9 Ball. Rue 13 is a great place to go with a group of friends of any size. Each time that I go I have always thoroughly enjoyed myself, so I keep going back.

Pretty cool place to get together with friends. The open bar in the middle of the makes it quite easy to get to the bar, but service can be slow. Drinks are also on the pricier end($ 11 Red Bull Vodka), but they have a decent selection of Saki. The Sushi Chef is incredible. If going out for late night sushi, this is the only place in the city worth going to. Never any complaints always high quality stuff. The few tables on the sidewalk make for interesting people watching, plus you never know who will walk by. Surrounded by other bars and clubs, it is a good place to be.
