Super good. Creamy Club one, male sure to order the entire one not the half. You are going to regret it.

I come here for lunch whenever I am downtown. The food is good and the staff is awesome. I haven’t tried the bicycle delivery service but from the way the riders scoot out when an order is ready, I have to believe that is good as well. You can get ½ a sandwich, chips or cookie, and a drink for under $ 10!(Put your change in the tip jar …)

Coming here during lunch hours when Urbana was taking place, I expecting a long wait for food but I think this place deserves to be noted for the efficiency of their food making because in no time at all, my food was already ready. It’s also pretty cool that they give you a playing card to identify you for the order. I got a mega roast beef. I was a bit surprised that it doesn’t come as a foot long sub but rather two halves. That aside, the roast beef was pretty good as it tore apart easily and all the flavors matched pretty well. But honestly, since there was a good amount of barbeque sauce, it was mostly what I tasted. It was definitely good for what it was though and it was a very decently filling meal. They also have one of those fancy soda dispensing machines where you choose your beverage on a screen and it dispenses the item chosen.

I introduced two of my co-workers to Planet Sub today and all I kept hearing was«Oh MY Gosh, Oh My Gosh!» They absolutely loved it!!! One of my co-workers and I ordered The Experience and the other young lady ordered the Pesto Bello. Long story short, THEYWEREDELICIOUSANDJUSTRIGHT(devoured before pics could be taken). What’s for dinner for us three? PLANETSUB… going back after work :-)

I’m a deli fanatic and know a good sandwich. For a chain, I thought the turkey club was ok. What they do well: bake their own bread, and toast it. What they can improve: quality of the deli meat. The turkey was the standard overly processed type. My deli brethren know meat quality can make or break a sandwich. That said, I’d put Planet Sub in the, ‘grab something quick’ category.

Neat location near the at&t building and culinaria downtown. Menu has a lot of options for fun sandwiches. It is more of a pick a fully configured sandwich and they make it for you as opposed to subway which is build your own. I like this format. Menu has lassics to creative. Service is quick and price reasonable. Will go back.

First try of the closest sandwich shop to home. Very good selection of specialty sandwiches in addition to made to order. Plenty of meat and cheese, and not to much of the healthy stuff, which most places do just to make it seem larger. They also offer call ahead orders and delivery. Service was great, friendly, and fast.

Gotta be honest, never been a huge sub guy. That being said, Planet Sub is so good I’ve been there twice in the past three days. They have that perfect crunch to their subs and the combos they have available are both creative and delicious. At lunch the line is a little long but it’s definitely worth the wait. The price is comparable to all other main sub shops, so give it a shot.

Searching for a place to eat and ran into this place. I had the buffalo chicken and Coach had the Planet Sub. We both enjoyed very much. Nice place and location. Not crowded for a Saturday afternoon. The staff was friendly. I would come back and recommend to my friends.

I was downtown for jury duty and found Planet Subs nearby. It was my first time there and if I am in the area for lunch again I will definitely make a repeat visit. I had the beefeater which was a great meaty sandwich. Every bite was a pleasure. They also didn’t give me a choice of breads. I know that sounds bad, but I like that. Do one bread, and do it right. I loved the bread! There are plenty of options and plenty of seating if you have time to hangout.

Staff was amazing and had a great vegan sub loaded with veggies. One of the best subs I’ve had in a very long time.

When I lived in paul brown lofts, planet sub was my savior. Their enchilada soup is amazing. I seriously still crave it. Tuesdays are $ 2 turkey subs. They use cream cheese and toast their sandwiches, they are just so good. Always plenty of meat and cheese, veggies, etc. I love their meatball sub though. I use to either get a meatball sub, drink(love those cups), and a cookie(yumm), or the turkey club(SOGOOD), enchilada soup, drink and cookie. It was a great meal and really wasn’t that expensive compared to other sandwich shops.

I was here for a student conference between Christmas + New Years, and with the lack of quick food options in STL, this place was a lifesaver! I was totally addicted to their sandwiches. I definitely came 2 days in a row to eat at this well-priced(~$ 6) and quick sandwich shop. There is nothing like a hot sandwich as a welcome to a new city. As for service, I was amazed at how they were able to accommodate a flood of 16000 new faces to STL. Really patient and kind service. They have a great selection of sandwiches for vegetarians, which is so good! Try the Planet Veggie. I also liked the sandwich with the mozzarella and pesto(Bella Pesto). Mmm.

I avoided eating at Planet Sub for most of my life. A recent move put me in downtown StL, needing a sandwich and within walking distance of this place. The staff has always been polite & helpful, and the playing card delivery system works well. I will probably never be a fan of a hot sandwich with mayonnaise on it. When I asked for it w/o, I still got the dressing, so why fight it? It only took me three visits before this place stopped giving me explosive dumps, so three stars seems appropriate.

I’ve only worked at this end of Market for 8 months, so I’m still trying to figure out where to eat lunch, that’s quick & easy. Let’s be honest. A sub shop’s demographic is male. There were approx 30 people in the store, and 29 were male. In my view, that’s a good thing! But I’m not reviewing how appetizing the clientel is, I’m reviewing the sandwich. First off, the bread. It’s hot and yummy. Better than Subway. I got the turkey club(I always get the turkey club). It’s wrapped in tin foil, like I would make at home. Over all, I was very pleased w/the experience. The staff was very friendly, the food good, and the restaurant was clean.

I’ve written on a couple of occasions about just how tight Downtown STL sandwich competition is, with a number of players trying to carve out niches in what seems like a fairly finite space already stretched to the limits by the food truck movement. So what’s Planet Sub’s pitch for patronage? 1) They bake bread too.(I’ve seen it done in the front of their store). 2) They stay open late… okay, later.(They’ve culled their hours back from the glory days of staying open until 9p, but are still serving up to 7p most days). 3) Generally cool employees and a very present, involved owner. 4) A pretty convenient location for Downtown employees and mellowed out, if not necessarily quiet, place to eat. Good enough to warrant a visit? I’d like to think so. My go-to here has been the Planet BBQ, a multi-meat sandwich with a few shots of KC Masterpiece sauce and a quick trip through the toaster. Simple, satisfying and filling at 6″, I can agree with others that Subway and Jimmy John’s are definitely cheaper, but the price here’s definitely not an unreasonable premium for a change of pace. Note: Soups and salads are also typically on offer too, FYI. Note: Groups larger than four might be hard-pressed to find a table here(it gets crowded!). A lot of the seating is booth style, with one large round(an 8-top I think) immediately to the right of the entrance.

Not at all impressed with the planet. The bread was mushy and had no firmness to it The ordering experience was confusing for someone who’s going for the first time The price was WAY too high for what you get The flavor was just like… idk… blah… The toppings just didn’t seem that fresh Basically, if you don’t have excellent bread, then you shouldn’t be in the sub sandwich business. I mean, their bread is worse than Subway, which is the minimal worse threshold you can have and still exist. At least Subway offers a variety of flavors.

This place has some seriously delicious subs! My visit was brief but my sammich was really good. I walked in with a group of 11 and I could tell the staff was like«wow, great,» but they cooperated and we all put in our orders. I went with the veggie on wheat(swiss, mozzarella, American, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and I subbed the olive spread for the mayo.) We sat down and they gave us a playing card(that’s how they keep track of who ordered what) and everything was out hot and ready in just a few minutes. My sandwich was so good but had way too much cheese(I should’ve noticed that there were three cheeses in the description) but overall it was very, very good. There are TONS of vegetarian options and a lot of creative subs on the menu, and if I worked downtown I’d be hitting this place up as much as possible. Only gripe are the bathrooms here… yikes. The soap is up on the wall and they put a bunch of water in it to make it last longer, and it just kind of squirts in a puddle on the ground before you can catch it all. The bathrooms just had that«yuck» factor you sometimes find. Cool sub place, and a little tip, they do giveaways and specials via their Facebook page!

I walk by this place every weekday while running errands for work, but I only recently dismissed the less-than-inviting façade and ventured inside. I’m sad it took me so long! As a vegetarian, sandwich shops are generally safe bets for a quick lunch, but that usually means I can order the single vegetarian option or ask for something sans meat/cheese/mayo. I expected as much at Planet Sub, but I found so much more… Tempeh! Delicious tempeh! And the bread was pretty damn good, too. I can’t wait to go back to try another veggie option. Also, I was pleased to find the interior much more welcoming than the entrance(dark windows, dark street, overall blah). I thought I was walking into some sort of dive bar, which was not at all the case. Staff was friendly, place was clean, I was pleased.
