Very delish! We got there on the early side and easily got a table on a Friday night but by the time we left at 6:30 there was a wait. Lobster rolls were great as well as the sides. One thing I prefer at all restaurants is that they tell you what the price of the specials are as well as market prices right up front so you don’t have to keep asking or be surprised when the bill comes. On this evening, we didn’t ask up front on the lobster rolls and thought it was a bit pricey. All in all we would definitely return.

I really liked the shrimp Po’ Boy and chips. They had beer in a can, which I never expected, but it tasted just the same. Of course they provided a glass. The service was very good and just the right amount of attention. The dishes were unique and added to the charm. I had dinner outside, so I can’t comment on the inside but if it’s anything like outside you won’t have much space between tables, or at least where I sat. It was still comfortable seating and a great experience overall.

Wow! We had a delicious lunch. My husband had half of an oyster poorboy, gumbo, fresh chips and I had half of a shrimp poorboy, clam chowder and chips! Both were delicious! The soup came directly from the oven, the sandwiches, hot & fresh, the chips nicely seasoned. Better than Killer Poor Boy in New Orleans! Our bill, $ 23.00, very reasonable. Atmosphere, fun! Nice music too!

(3.5 stars) [PROS] + Best fried green tomatoes in town! + Laidback atmosphere, cute east cost seaside vibe + Patio seating [CONS] — Smallish portions — $$$ market price for lobster rolls ~$ 22 – 24 — Long wait times during busy hours Peacemaker deserves a good high five for bringing some East Coast seafood to land-locked St. Louis. It’s a nice change of pace in Soulard especially in contrast to the more cajun-style seafood that is already available in the neighborhood. That being said, you have to expect that it won’t be just like the East Coast, just like sushi in the Midwest won’t be just like what you can get on the West Coast. Market price for the lobster rolls is going to be around $ 22 – 24, which is pretty expensive, but I guess the lobster did have to take a little airplane ride to get across the country. I had the CONNECTICUTSTYLE lobster roll, which is the warm one with the buttered roll. I’d say the roll was a little bit over-buttered. You could finish the roll in maybe 4 – 5 bites. It was a smallish roll as you wouldn’t be full eating just that. The FRIEDGREENTOMATOES were probably the star — they are $ 4 for 3 pieces, which almost forces you to order more than 1 portion if you want to share with a party of more than 2. However, the tomato slices were big and juicy and the remoulade was quite punchy and good. I also had the STEAMEDBUNROLL. I thought this was a nice concept — lobster meat and pickled sour cabbage sandwiched within a Chinese-style steamed bun(there were 3 of them). Unfortunately, there was very little lobster in the roll and the bun was a bit oversteamed and rubbery. I probably will not get this next time. Overall I liked the concept and the cute nautical vibe of the place. I think the prices are pretty steep, but it is a solid option if you’re craving a taste of the Northeast. If you’re coming during typical dinner times though, be sure to download the No Wait app and get yourself in line before coming.

If you are craving seafood in St. Louis this is where you should go. Best place for seafood. Everything on their menu is DELICIOUS! Their outside and outside seating are lovely. Service is friendly. Parking might be tricky but they offer valet parking.

In my opinion this place is a bit over rated by Unilocalers. Food was good here, but nothing extraordinary. and I was expecting something extraordinary after waiting 125 minutes on NoWait for my table. The restaurant is small and it was extremely noisy, I could barely hear my friend across the table. Tables are squeezed together and way too close for comfort. There are plenty of other cajun and seafood places in town that I’d prefer to this, Broadway Oyster Bar to name one.

This place is absolutely amazing, my first time eating here today! I had the Connecticut Lobster roll and fries, the lobster was beyond good! I can’t stop talking about it lol, perfect! I also had the bourbon punch slush! I will definitely be back, my honey and I enjoyed our Saturday date night! Great service as well, everyone was polite and full of smiles. Thank you Peacemaker

OMG I absolutely love this place!!! The food is amazing ! And the pickles are to die for!!! It’s a little loud for my taste, but it’s only people loving the food and company, so I guess it’s ok

Peacemaker is possibly the best cajun styled restaurant I have tried outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. Now, this place can be quite pricey. Our whole entire meal, with the main course, desserts and beverages cost us $ 80. My dining partner had a $ 30 gift card that offset the costs of eating there. Luckily, we were able to get some amazing food at a lower cost. The whole experience, from start to finish, was pretty good. One caveat, we did try to find out how long the wait was before we arrived. My dining partner said she was told a 20 minute wait for a table. However, when we got there, the wait was at least an hour or more. We managed to do fine while eating at the bar. We both ordered the shrimp boil platters. The shrimp boil platter is a bunch of «live» shrimp cooked with a medley of different vegetables. It was quite interesting tearing apart shrimp heads, but hey, it’s a first for everything. I don’t even know how they managed to make brussel sprouts so ashtonishly tasty! The dessert was quite a surprise as well, as we both ordered the chocolate crème pies. The chocolate was a very high quality chocolate, probably worth every single penny. The only negatives were that we were not told the correct wait times, and this place does not have a lobby area, meaning that people walked in and congregated around the bar. One man brought in an extra pair of shoes and actually changed them right next to me while I was eating. The clientele also seem a bit too upscale for my tastes, but this is Peacekeeper, not the local golden corral. However, I did kind of feel like Katniss visiting the Capital a few times during the meal. Still, I ended up having a good time and a new experience.

Crab roll over lobster roll — hands down, no question. The lobster rolls are pretty good considering St. Louis is a midwest city and the seafood has to be flown in. However, both the crab and lobster to price ratio is on the expensive side even from East Coast standards. Their selection of fresh oysters is good as well. As for the rest of the menu, you can skip it. Don’t order the salads — the kitchen staff for some reason thinks they can get away with old, or unwashed greens by dressing them with ranch or blue dress. The smoked whitefish salad does little for the imagination or palate so skip it altogether. The soup’s(both gumbo and chowder) lack depth and true seafood flavor. That said, the service we received when we returned the salad and substituted other items was terrific so I tip my hat off to them for that. However, I will say that even if it was lunch, I’m not a fan of having to go up to a counter to order and pay for my food up front — especially if I’m going to be paying $ 26.00 for a roll — keep it classy and standardize table service at all hours. If you’re craving a taste of the East coast, Peacemaker is likely the only choice — but stick to what they’re named for and you’ll be fine!

I was recently introduced to peacemaker. I have been wanting good seafood for a while and was excited that the restaurant also claimed to use cajun flavoring in some of their dishes. I was a little disappointed. The Good The atmosphere is really unique. There are wood tables with comfortable and colorful plastic chairs. I love that they serve water in mason jars and every table has a bucket of supplies to crack open those lobster and crab shells. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and decided to go through the menu with us when we stated that this was our first time at the restaurant. It was much appreciated. The Meh I ordered the fish Po Boy, which comes with fries. On the restaurant menu it reads Poor Boy. First mistake… Po’Boy or Po-Boy.(Maybe I am being a bit snooty, but if you are going to try a Louisiana classic, then lets get it right.). Overall I would rate the Po Boy at a B minus. I must confess that I have family in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and have had the real thing many times over. The Po Boy had a sauce that the restaurant claimed to be cajun. While it was good, it was not what I was expecting. When someone tells me they are using cajun seasoning I expect at least a little punch of spice. With the po boy I got nada. Again, the food was good but definitely a lower quality remake of true new orleans Po Boys. I hope to return to try the boiled crab or lobster. Perhaps I will have better luck next time.

Ok I’m going to be honest. I probably shouldn’t have come here because I was doubtful of anyone being able to replicate a taste of New England in St. Louis. I’m the daughter of a die hard Bostonian who grew up spending a week or two of summer in New England while living year round in Maryland from the age of 7 on until I shipped off to college in Boston. The Peacemaker’s lobster roll just didn’t do it for me. They got the buttered roll exactly right, that’s the big plus I’ll give them credit for. Unfortunately, the lobster and their version of a Maine /New England style lobster roll just didn’t capture the lobster right and the meat in the lobster roll was a little too claw heavy instead of being tipped more towards tail /knuckle meat. This imbalance sort of ruined the nice seafoody sweetness flavor profile I prefer in my lobster rolls. I’m tempted to go back to try the Maryland crabs and give them another chance because I liked the atmosphere and we had good service and using No Wait to go on a busy Saturday night worked out perfectly, but I’m a bit afraid of disappointment there too so I’m not sure about that yet. Speaking of money the current market pricing is $ 26 for a lobster roll at Peacemaker. There is a place in San Francisco near the airport that yes also has to fly it’s lobsters in and is further from New England than St. Louis is and in a more expensive real estate market and they charge $ 19.50 a lobster roll. I know Peacemaker can get away with it because they are a popular restaurant but just something to keep in perspective.

I love coming to Peacemaker, siting at the bar alone and enjoying a cocktail. It’s so relaxing. I can order a couple of sides and totally make a lunch out them. I pick from a mixture of; Brussels Sprouts, Fried Green Tomatoes, Fries or Hush Puppies. Two of the four can always make me content. Sometimes a plate of fresh oysters and cold beer even hits the spot. My recent visit was to celebrate them making Ian Froeb’s STL100 List. I’m really enjoying eating my way through his list. His«must order» for Peacemaker is the Lobster Roll, which I’ve had and I can tell you the Connecticut Style is better then the Maine. When I arrived today, I was tempted to have one, but the market price was $ 24 and I took a pass. I enjoyed a Louie cocktail which is a mixture of vodka(the fountain of youth), ginger liquor, lemon juice and cucumber juice with a cayenne and salted rim. Drink from a straw, because you’ll burn your lips off with that rim. However, that drink is so refreshing, I’d drink from the rim all over again. To accompany my cocktail, I had an order of my favorite Fried Green Tomatoes and a Clam Roll. This was the first time I had ordered the Clam one and was pleasantly surprised. My roll was filled with fried strips and a light aioli sauce. I also had an order of fries. Yes, I was a little heavy on the carbs, but it was worth it. Saying the words, «worth it», my cocktail, fried tomatoes, clam roll with fries were less then the lobster roll — I call that a deal that is really, «worth it». Perhaps next time, I’ll be frivolous instead of frugal and enjoy the Lobster Roll, Connecticut Style. When: April 20, 2016 Why: Lunch &STL100

Lovely. I searched for Seafood in St. Louis and started to read up on this gem. If you head out after dark, know it’s tucked into a neighborhood off the beaten path. I thought maybe I was lost for a moment. There’s complimentary valet available as street parking is limited. I came in at 9pm, and it was still packed. I pulled up to the bar and asked for recommendations– I went with shrimp po boy and Brussels sprouts. Firstly, the chips were outstanding– covered in old bay seasoning. I texted 2 people and snapped them; with originally no intention to eat them at all, I had to kick in my self control. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. Awesome texture, not greasy. Remolaude was subtle and paired great. The bread was a bit softer than traditional flaky crisp you’d get in NOLA. Brussels sprouts were exactly what I needed; I was pleasantly surprised to see no bacon in them(unheard of from where I’m from; Nashville doesn’t seem to serve them without bacon fat). Thee were light and fresh– exactly what I needed. Then I was surprised to see my check was only $ 17. Very affordable for such quality food. Service was great. I’ll be back on another work trip.

Went there for dinner. We were craving crab. No crab. Completely out. One of the two offerings included in their name was nowhere to be found. Never thought to call ahead… since they’re called«Peacemaker Lobster and Crab.» Lame.

I went here for Sarah and I’s 4 year anniversary. It was something new and different, but that something new and different didn’t really suit my fancy. Their Maryland blue crabs were small and labor intensive to get any meat out of. I left there hungry and immediately had to go to Bailey’s chocolate bar to get my fat kid on with some dessert. The wait staff was just okay. Nothing more than an average experience, and I don’t think that I would ever find myself wanting to go back. If you want a nice meal, just stick with Sidney St Café. Much better overall experience to be had there in my opinion.

This is a fun spot and there is nothing like it in St. Louis. If you don’t like shellfish you shouldn’t stop in though, that’s really the star of their menu. They do it very well too. I was lucky to be with a large party so we got to try all sorts of different things. I can’t say there is anything bad on the menu, although the blue stone crab is a lot of work for very little meat. Luckily our server warned us, so we weren’t surprise. You MUST get the fried green tomatoes though, they are the real show stopper. The atmosphere here is also fun, really relaxed and causal, you are transported to another world. Unfortunately it is very loud, which was a drawback. I can’t say this is the type of place where you go over and over, but for a fun change of pace this is a great spot!

My mother really enjoyed our lunch here… that face alone deserves 3 stars. I too thought the experience was really nice; but not impressive enough for a perfect score. In short the food was delicious, consisted of superb ingredients, hearty portions and charming presentations. The manager/gentlemen greeting us at the door was very welcoming. He explained how the lunch setup worked and extended any open seat. The gentlemen sitting behind the register with whom we placed our orders was helpful in making suggestions. The line operator who brought our food over was cold(almost intimidating except I’m unintimidatable; totally made that up but I bet you know what I’m getting at). I anticipated trying their mussels today but was advised that the Boils & Steams were unavailable for lunch. Food/Drink: Winter Squash Salad Cobb Salad Fried Green Tomatoes Gumbo H2O The salads were plentiful! Mine contained tons of fresh spinach, a few chunks of sweet potato, roasted squash, pickled squash, golden raisins and a pumpkin vinaigrette so tasty it made me wanna reach over and slap my mama. Speaking of my mother she raved over the gumbo and was unable to finish her full Cobb salad. She was also impressed with the bayou feel & décor. She promised we’d be back for dinner very soon. I second that notion. ~Christy

THEBESTMEALIVEHADINSTLOUIS… We drive over from Scott AFB kind’ve last minute last night, and after so many bad seafood experiences inland I had pretty low expectations as we drove over the bridge. I wasn’t really familiar with the area so we were basically going to do a drive-by before we decided to go in, and wow am I glad we did… We lucked out with parking right in front, but they do offer valet which is a nice touch. I really love the interior — old brick bldg with rough wood and nautical décor without being cheesy. Fantastic service well timed delicious food made for a perfect birthday dinner. We did a bunch of stuff — sampled all of the raw oysters, cob salad, steamers in wine and garlic, lobster roll, brussels sprouts, hush puppies, and woo pie pies at the end. They have a pretty big beer and wine list — we did the servers suggested which was great. Can’t wait to return this place is a gem.

Fantastic. Really really good. We will definitely be back. We also love the fact you pay before and they bring it to you when it’s ready. We hate waiting for our check or waiting for our change. Very friendly staff. I love love love the décor & atmosphere. And it was so great they were playing David Bowie Pandora today. #ripdavidbowie #thelegend The food is just unbelievable. And we have leftovers, yum.
