Small place with good eats. Comfortable surroundings that invite a longer stay than planned.

Tiny little unassuming neighborhood store/deli with AMAZING bread and pressed sandwiches! Great local beer selection and Red Fox bread baked on premises. Don’t miss the sea salt chocolate cookies.

I am obsessed with the Club! And the Grilled Cheese! Barry knows what he’s doing when it comes to these classic sandwiches! And always great service! Can’t wait to try the brunch one of these days.

We had them cater our wedding/halloween party and they did an incredible job. The selection of food was a complete hit with all the guests and Kym was a delight working the party. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

We’ve been getting sandwiches here for a while, but we just tried their Sunday brunch for the first time this morning. We both had the eggs benedict, and it was the best we’ve had in St. Louis. The Hollandaise is seriously out of control – thick and eggy but with bright citrus notes. The staff here is super welcoming and they clearly care about what they’re doing. We’re so grateful this place is in our neighborhood!

My friend and I both thought our lunches were some of the best we’ve ever had in St Louis. 5 Stars are deserved. Going to try to come back at least once a week!

Loooove this place. A perfect little neighborhood joint. My husband and j both got the club and it was delicious. The crusty bread is so good and the sandwich ingredients very fresh. They have a nice offering of beer and wine and I love the little ice cream cart. A perfect lunch spot for sure. I’m looking forward to trying them for brunch!

The Red Fox bread they carry is very good, maybe the best in St. Louis. However, even very good bread is not particularly good if it’s stale/extremely hard. Don’t sell stale bread. Beer selection is ok, not as good as local comparison Gustine Market. Minimal other products available apart from the restaurant-ish offerings, which are not addressed in this review.

The chicken noodle soup was amazing. I had the grilled cheese, it was perfect. It’s cozy inside and the bread is great. The food is simply high quality but simple — the best combination.

I created a Unilocal account just so I could write a review for this charming place. We live in the neighborhood, so we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The space was cozy, welcoming and had this nostalgic vibe about it. We perused the small selection of essentials, and several coolers with old fashioned bottled sodas and a great beer selection while we waited for our food. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, the ham & cheese sandwich, and the chicken noodle soup. The food was excellent! Simple but delicious. Classics done well. The soup was standout as was the slaw that comes with each sandwich order. We will definitely be returning to this neighborhood gem!

Great bakery items and pressed sandwiches. Amazing oven in the back outside making fresh bread and heating the sannies. Free beer tastings too! Eat in or take out… Soup too! Oh yeah, and gelato as well… :)

The chicken noodle soup is worth going back for time and time again. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve also had the meatloaf and the BLT and they were delicious. But the freaking soup is magic.

This place has so much potential. I live in the neighborhood and was dying to try this place. In the end, I found it to fall short of expectations, but still be worthy of praise. It is a cozy, beautiful space that would be fun to dine in. I found the selection to be very lacking. Though I had read and heard a lot about this place, if I had randomly come in I would have been confused. The shelves were mostly empty, and what they had all seemed really expensive and random. The menu is extremely basic. As far as I could tell there were just a few basic sandwich options, which was the biggest disappointment. There was nothing special, interesting, or exciting offered. Nothing that would lure me back. The panini sandwich I did get was very good quality, though, particularly the bread. I found the service to be extremely unfriendly and slow. Also, the guy(pretty sure the owner) assumed I didn’t know what aioli was, which for some reason deeply offended me. #thestruggleisreal As someone who regularly spends massive amounts of time in Europe, I can say with certainty that this place is pretty on point for a neighborhood French market, if that’s what they were going for, from the odd selection, down to the aloof customer service. Will for sure be back. I’d love to see some crazy-ass sandwiches on the menu next time. If they can make a boring sandwich that delicious, imagine what this guy can do with an exotic sandwich.

I live right down the street and find these place a very welcome addition. Great for beer and hot pressed sandwiches. The meatloaf sandwich blew me away! I would love to see more selection of groceries, but I will keep going back for the bread, beer, and sandwiches.

Might be the best BLT I’ve ever had. And then somehow the flavors of the sandwich melded with the cole slaw and the slaw became something so much more incredible than it was by itself. Was there some sort of addictive chemical added to this food? I want more!!! The texture of the bread, the whole sandwich, actually, was just spot on. Absolutely delicious. My husband had the pulled chicken and said it was really tasty. I WILL be back and I’m so glad I live nearby. Charming atmosphere, too, and a great place to pick up condiment, veggies, beer, dry pasta, eggs. I also saw handmade local soaps on the counter that smelled really incredible and would make a great gift for the men in your life. Support local!

Nice little neighborhood café/shop. Sandwiches were really good. Lots of fun flavors of bottled soda. Solid selection of local beers. Gelato was simple but delicious. Great look/vibe in there. Will be back!

I’ve eaten here a handful of times now and the quality has consistently been good! The first time we ordered the BLT there wasn’t a lot of bacon, but since then it seems like they decided to pile on more bacon. ALLTHEBACON! We’ve eaten the meatloaf, club, BLT, grilled cheese and salami. All solid offerings. I’m not a fan of slaw, but if you are, then that’s great for you because every sandwich comes with it. Additionally, if you’re not in the mood for a sandwich, the chicken noodle soup has that homemade vibe that transports you back to your childhood(I literally just ordered some as I’m writing this). Since my boyfriend lives down the street, when we need some veggies or bread we hop the block over to grab some things. The owner is always pleasant and you can tell he takes pride in his work. This is a very welcomed addition to the TGE neighborhood. Also, these sandwiches are a very welcomed addition to my belly. GETINMYBELLY.

Really wanted to like this place. Could be awesome. Problem is the darn pressed sandwich. No one wants a pressed sandwich with hot lettuce or tomato. Your BLT could be amazing but your pressing it ruins it. Pressing is a way to hide something most often with cheese. Have some confidence in your work. Your bacon was awesome when I took it off the sandwich. Do the same BLT on whole wheat and don’t press it. Get some Kaiser roles for the sandwiches. And we asked for two things that you ran out of. You aren’t Pappy’s who can get away with that. Do that to much and you are out of biz bro.

I came here yesterday to pick up a sandwich for my dad. I was just at the Festival of Nations, but he’s not much of an ethnic food guy(trying to change that given the area in which I live). I chose a turkey bacon club for $ 8. Above five minutes later a piping hot, made-to-order sandwich with a side of slaw was presented. It looked and smelled delicious. I brought it to my dad, who snarfed it down; I haven’t seen him eagerly eat anything like that in a couple weeks. Today, I asked him what he wanted for lunch. «Another sandwich from that corner store would be just fine with me!» Another point for Grove East.

This place is amazing! Great little corner market with a nice selection of vegetables, local beer, and simple provisions. The sandwich menu isn’t the greatest as far as variety but the sandwiches are delicious. A big part has to do with the fact that they make all of the bread fresh in the back. Also a great spot to hang with friends as it has a nice little seating area. As a local resident, I couldn’t be happier!
