I went here recently for a wedding. The hall is fine and I’m sure this place caters to more of a budget conscious couple, however, I think they should up their standards. The dinner was a buffet with servers putting the entrée on your plate because you got a choice of chicken or beef but not both. I totally get that as I work in the wedding industry, but seriously, plastic plates and table ware? plastic everything. Come on. If you own your own glassware and stoneware, you can afford to wash it. I don’t know if they ran out or if the dishwasher broke down but I was surprised a place this well established would do that for a wedding. And to me, if the nice flatware and glassware isn’t included in the price, then it seems like a rip off to me and sad that they would do that to people on their special day. Nevertheless, the place was clean, staff was nice, and the bartender was great. We had a great time. I was impressed by the sound proofing in the wall as they had an airwall closed so there were two events going on at once and you couldn’t hear their music through the wall. They also drape their airwall so it looks nice. Food was good and hit the spot. My bride was gorgeous and happy so that’s all that really matters!

The boo and I attended a wedding here for a friend of his. The bride was gorgeous, I teared up at the pastors speech about marriage-​yes I am a sap for the covenant! However… this establishment needs a total makeover… the staff was pretty cool and the set up for the wedding itself was nice overall I will say. The food… I call it basic wedding fare its always the same, guests had options to choose from. basically food that you will smash bc you are hungry and halfway through realize its not that great. Open bar was slightly weird, certain mixed drinks couldn’t be made… not cool. Overall it was was an OK establishment but it just truly needs a facelift. FYI– On the way here from the hwy you will pass South County police station. Makes you think about open bar…

I love Genesis! I had my wedding November 29^th 2013 and we loved it! They did a great job on decorating and putting lights up! The manager was extremely nice and help us out as much as he could! I would recommend having a reception here! It’s beautiful, spacious, and well worth the money!

As far as banquet facilities go, Genesis is OK. Nothing fancy, but nothing bad. I was recently there for a wedding reception, but have been there for charity events, trivia nights and it gets the job done.
The staff is friendly and the food is good. They have a large parking lot which makes it easy to get in and out.

My husband and I were looking for a reception venue for our July wedding that would fit our needs in every way imaginable and Genesis Banquet Hall did just that.
Nestled in South County, the banquet center sits across from Jefferson Barracks National Park.
Our first look at Genesis, the staff was very friendly and walked us through what they imagined our reception would be like. We booked for a Friday night shortly after that.
They call to remind you about payments, decisions etc. We had to make some special plates to due some of our guests dietary requirements and they were very willing and helpful to do so.
When I realized it would not work out for me to set up the reception, I simply took everything in to show them and they had me set up a sample of each thing and they would handle the rest.
They went beyond my expectations!
The food was phenomenal. We had gone to a wedding at this particular location 2 months prior to ours, and that allowed us to decide what we wanted and didn’t want as a part of our wedding meal.
Due to the popularity of the venue, you cannot have them clean up your reception and pick up the items the next day, you are expected to take it all with you that night. However they will help you take it all down and pack it wherever it is going.
They are very reasonable with their rates and pricing and will work with your budget.
Genesis operates several different locations and at several other venues due to their catering services. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to whomever is needing a good spot for a party.
