We stopped here for lunch today — it was satisfying and good, but overall we weren’t too impressed. We say 3.5 overall, we bumped to a 4 instead because of the extensive add ons you can put on your sandwiches(above and beyond the normal LTO, they had a variety of hot peppers and other veggies you could add, free of charge). We are big time hot sauce lovers, so we were excited to see the selection of over 30 different sauces to mix and match. I got brisket, it was good — but lacked the smokey brisket taste I was hoping for. Also, at the last minute the soda machine broke and only offered diet drinks which bums be out because I don’t drink(nor like) diet! This left me with only water and iced tea to drink. The staff was rather unfriendly, but that wasn’t a huge deal since you order at the register and they aren’t serving us. We will come back, but I wouldn’t make a special trip for the food here.

Firehouse for me as a chain is the best sub shop there is. The sandwiches are amazing the consistency across the chain is phenomenal. Add the amazing murals and giving back to first responders you can’t go wrong.

Just went for lunch and the cashier was extremely rude. I took my business down the street and won’t be back. Giving this 2 stars because I’ve been there many times and the sandwiches are good.

I am so glad we finally have a Firehouse in STL! I know this location has been open for a few months, but I finally made it this past weekend and I am so glad it’s here! I used to order from Firehouse all the time when I was living in Florida; it was my favorite sandwich shop! I told a friend of mine(also from FL) about this location and so we had to go! I arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 2 pm and the place was pretty steady with customers. I already knew what I was going to order and my friend was ready too! The girl at the register was friendly and took our orders quickly. The guys making the sandwiches were working fast and seemed to have a good system down. I was so excited for my sandwich. We also ordered some chips and a drink. The drink machine is that really cool one where you can create flavors for your soda; lots of fun! The restaurant itself had a good vibe and looked clean. I didn’t stay to eat since I had to be somewhere, but when I finally ate my sandwich it was still warm and delicious. I can’t wait to go back!

I have been a fan of Firehouse for many years. The food never disappoints. I found this location to be friendlier than the South County location. Its extremely clean also. Enjoy!

Best sub shop food I have had in a long time! The sandwiches were balanced well with meat to bread ratio’s! Much better than local competition and other chains! Place was very clean and the service for a fast food place was great! Will definitely go back and recommend!

I had a steamer, disappointed in the meat to bread ratio, the ends had no meat. Ordered a large and paid for it, when we got home my wife’s sandwich was a medium. The manager was correcting an employee in front of everyone. Overall, the food tasted good, the service not so much.

I came here with such high hopes seeing the 4 star overall review, and for the most it was a good experience! However, the manager who at the time was helping make the sandwiches was rude and very loud for no reason. As for the food, my sandwich was pretty good but I could tell the veggies quality were severely lacking and I will not getting anything here with the veggies again. Overall I give this place 3 stars for the okay tasting food and the okay employees manners.

I’d heard such great things but learned I was misinformed. When I went to this firehouse subs location just now I stood at the counter for about five minutes and neither of the employees asked if they could take my order. They seemed to be busy chatting about how much mayo was left among other things. It’s more than an hour before closing time for goodness sake. The female working there made eye contact with me three times, and then just went back to talking to the man working at the register. I doubt I’ll be back.

First time at firehouse, my New York steamer was very good, and the wife raved about the chicken salad, very good and polite service. We will be back

I feel bad to 2-star this place because I love the concept and they were super friendly. Sadly, my sub was soggy and tasted microwaved. With Penn Station just a minute away… But if you like hot sauce, this is the place for you.

Went here for the first time today. I loved it. The only drawback was the chick at the register with the«I could care less» attitude but what do you expect from someone making $ 7.50 hr? The food was mouthwatering literally and a nice size sandwich for $ 7.00 I upgraded to the combo which includes chips and a medium size drink that you can SUPERSiZE for another buck. I walked away with a combo for $ 11.50 which is still a reasonable lunch. Can’t wait to go back.

I was hesitant to try this place, as the pictures of the sandwiches on the website didn’t appeal to me for one reason or another. I sort of thought it was going to be another Quizno’s or something. Too much meat, too much seasonings, ech, no thank you. I am also not the biggest fan of hot sandwiches. They kinda skeeve me out. GUYS. This place is freaking awesome. We’ve(embarassingly) come here 3x in the last 5 weeks — don’t judge us, we just had a baby and don’t have much time to make food. I have only ordered the pastrami sandwich because I can’t get it out of my head it is so yummmmm. The quality of the meat is top notch — this is coming from a deli meat snob face. Hubs has gotten the philly, which was superb, and now the club on a sub, which was also great. Also — yeah, the beverage machine is definitely from the future. And let me tell you, the future has limitless soda flavor options. Which I think we can all agree is something that has been seriously lacking in the present.

Excellent service, clean restaurant, great subs. Also, check out the high tech soda machine which gives you something around 121 different options of soda/flavor combinations.

As a retired Firefighter/EMT I look to support firefighters in their endeavors. Although the location is a franchise, it has great sandwiches although the options can be a bit overwhelming if you are visiting for the first time. Great and a few amazing pictures on the wall to spark interest and discussion.(See for yourself!) In addition seeing quite a few on and off duty fire fighters there solidified our conclusion, it is just good food. We will be back for sure.

We were at Target and decided to check this place out. I had read a little bit about it and knew that it was founded by 2 firefighters in Florida. I knew going in I would be limited with food options because I just recently decided to try to be gluten free and pescatarian. Anyhoo, the staff was super friendly and informative and the place was clean. As for food, I would say this place is VERY limited for non meat eating and/or gluten free people. Which is not their fault or their problem. I was only here to check it out with the bf. The bf had The Engineer: smoked turkey breast, melted Swiss, and sautéed mushrooms, served Fully Involved(which means mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a pickle on the side). He said it was good but not great and he didn’t seem too impressed. However, I think he is bitter about his recently gained food allergy to red meat and pork. I was stuck with a salad which was fine but nothing to write home about. It was a Chef Salad minus the meat(they did charge a little less for no meat, which is cool): Fresh romaine, iceberg, bell pepper, cucumber, red onion, tomato, provolone, sliced egg, and your choice of: Virginia honey ham, sliced chicken, tuna salad, chicken salad, or smoked turkey breast. It was mostly iceberg. They do have a nice selection of hot sauces in varying degrees of heat level. So this place is fine for a quick and easy bite and definitely worth checking out but with my current dietary choices I will not be seeking it out anytime soon.

I had some time to kill last week and found this place while waiting for my tires to be put on. Hadn’t heard a thing about them but felt like a meatball sub. Everything appeared to be great until I got to the cash register to order. I told the African American female that this was my first time in and did she have any recommendations. She mumbled something which I could not understand and I asked her to repeat herself. She became a bit hostile and said«No I ain’t got no suggestions) I asked her what was the difference between the sweet sauce and the plain on the meatball sandwich, she said one was spicy and the other was not. Duh! I thought the sub was excellent but the heavy girl working the cash register needs some lessons on customer service or your not going to have much of a business. She is the only reason this is a 4 rating and not a 5.
