Craft beer lovers, check out this spot on Cherokee street… Flavors you have never tasted and funky named brews. I historically like less than 10% of IPAs I try. However, I must confess I love the tax evader IPA. The brown sugar cuts the bitterness and overwhelming hops prevalent in many IPAs, which is why I dislike many IPAs I try. They have a good selection, and this gem is a diamond in the rough. If you didn’t know it was there, you may walk by(as I did) many times before realizing the treasure hidden inside the unassuming entrance. I have visited on several occasions. Even if you like no IPA brews, they likely have a beer for you. The space may not be that big, but the flavor and love put into these brews is huge. Waste no time stumbling into/out of Earthbound Brewing!

The only reason I can’t give Earthbound 5 stars is because I haven’t actually been to their location. My experience took place at Empire Hall down the road for their birthday party. The tickets to the event were $ 25 and they gave us quite a few beer tickets along with the taster glass. The design on the glass was simple and appropriate for the type of brewery they are. When we arrived, not too many people were there, but it filled up fast. They had a stand selling merchandise, two food tables and the rest were serving their beer. Oh my goodness, their beer. It takes the STL beer scene to a whole new level. I have heard several people compare it to Scratch Brewing in Ava, IL when it comes to their brewing style. They drew heavily from nature like Scratch does. I wish I had paid more attention to their ABV. Many selections were boozier than I realized. They were all so gosh darn tasty it wasn’t even a thought in my mind. I cannot wait to visit their regular location. These guys are doing beyond amazing things.

Earthbound is fantastic. I go there every couple of weeks to sample the new beers they have on tap and talk with the staff and owners. And honestly, I’m not sure what’s better: the beer or the quality of company. There is an ever rotating selection of beers to try, and all it takes is a little adventurousness to find something you like. Since the owners generally bartend and the staff is knowledgeable, they can guide you toward something to fit your palate. They do a good job of having a selection of beers ranging from pale ales and IPAs to gruits and stouts at all times. Also, don’t be afraid to go here solo. Everyone is friendly and you won’t feel out of place sitting at the bar alone. You’re bound to strike up a conversation with someone while you are there. There’s nothing quite like the homey neighborhood feel of this place.

Billed as «the weirdest beers in St. Louis» and they’re not kidding. I had a chicken-and-waffles beer and a Chinese 5 spice beer. Both were surprisingly drinkable, but certainly novelty beers. Not a bad place to drink, but they could use a better location.

A really relaxed atmosphere, owned by great people, serving delicious beers — the trifecta. I highly recommend this place. It’s a tad small, right now(as of Sep 2015), but I do know that it’s their goal to move into a larger location sometime soon. So you have that to look forward to! And hey, if you start going now, before it blows up into a super-phenomenon, you can tell all your friends that you knew about it before it was BFD.

It’s a tiny local brewery spot where the owners come up with their own interesting flavor of beer(IPA, pale ale, wheat.). You can get a pint, half pint, or try a bunch of samples. Sounds like the menu changes every week. Barkeep was friendly and enthusiastic about their beer and the whole brewing process. You can sit at the bar or at the tables. Pretty chill spot. Flavors are quite unique, even had one with pepper in it. Give it a try if you’re in the area.

I bought a Groupon for their beer lesson and tasting for my husband’s birthday. It included the lesson and a 6-flight of their craft beers for ten guests. It was well worth the money. Just the attention and service given by Stewart was enough to bring us all back. We were strapped for time, but Stewart was able to easily accommodate our request and we were able to sample 6 of their beers of the week. They change out their brews about every week or so. Stewart was very knowledgeable about the brewing process and each brew had its own unique story. I’m not a big beer connoisseur, but the guys seemed to really enjoy the brews. One really unique one was the Toasted Ravioli which is made from St. Louis’ own provel cheese. Didn’t taste anything like a toasted ravioli, but the concept was cool. A couple of the guys are definitely coming back for an upcoming«Scotch beer.» I hate scotch so that may be a guy’s night event. The brewery is the epitome of micro brewery-it is very small, but it has a great atmosphere. We especially love the maps on the walls of places in Missouri and the wooden logs as stools. It’s hidden on Cherokee St, next to Melt, so make sure you keep your eyes open when driving by.

Cute little brewery tucked into a little corner of Cherokee Street that just knocks my socks off! There are so many new breweries popping up and it’s hard to make a statement, but this place has done it. Three owners, no more employees, fabulous brews. The have chosen to shy away from having any flagship brews and, instead, brew something new every week. The taps are always changing and each one is spot on. Hello, I just had a Toasted Ravioli Brew… and yes, it was a GOOD beer! I’m usually an IPA kind of gal, but actually went with one of their Gruit’s to change my day around. Hurry if you want something, because it will be gone and something else equally as yummy will be in its place.

Stopped on for a brew on a Saturday afternoon and wow. So. Gross. We got the sampler and each one was worse than the last. They were all super watery and the flavors were just off all together. We will not be back.

Neat how they renovated this place and it has it’s own unique atmosphere. So that’s definitely a positive. I’m all for supporting local craft breweries and I think St. Louis has some great options, but everything I tasted at Earthbound left me wanting more. In other words, I didn’t taste any beers that I craved to come back and drink. Maybe in time they will develop.

Small, new brew pub with an interesting beer menu. Mahlab esb or the chicory stout are my recommendations!

This place has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately it fails utterly at its essential purpose, which is brewing beer. You’ll find it populated by hipsters who seem to think their presence infuses the beer with a supernal vibe that makes it drinkable, but do not be fooled. All of the beers have a a chemical taste that ranges from the unsettling to the revolting. At least I still have my eyesight.

They are a bit hidden on Cherokee street – we walked by it twice – but what a gem of a find! They had several tasty standard beers as well as serious creative beers. It was also really nice that they have 3 sizes to choose from and each of the sizes is shown with the glass on the wall. I am a visual person so it was handy for me when ordering. Of the 4 beers I tried, my favorite was the Gruit, an unusual take on beer using ginger and other roots as the buttering agents. My friend really enjoyed their black pepper cardamom ale but I thought it had too much black pepper taste.

Beer was light and had a strange cleaning product/band aide taste. Servers were nice, space is a quaint shotgun style. Cedar tables smell great as you walk in. But if you like good micro beer, maybe give this place a few years to catch up.

Blandest beer I’ve tasted in all of St Louis. The service was good but the space felt cluttered. I felt like I was not hipster enough to be in the place. Would not return!

Most unique beer in stl! Not too hoppy or sweet. Original flavors. Beautifully balanced.

well this is a little gem of a spot! we tried some of their beers at the Wolpertinger beer fest at Urban Chestnut a couple weeks ago and came straight to the source for more. came in on an early friday evening and enjoyed a couple of beers and some chit chat re: black metal bands. delightful brews, $ 5 a glass. husband had a scotch ale, me a mahlab esb. both fine brews. both made me feel like homestyle brews in a british pub. very comforting & satisfying. and then the second round really knocked our socks off! the pecan chicory stout(malt & coffee yum) and the double IPA(like no other — rich and buttery and still a little sharp) we swapped and stole from each other til they were both(sadly) gone. super friendly people, delicious beers, and they’re not even a year into this. most impressive, folks. looking forward to many more of those double IPAs. brilliant.

Tasty brew and great people. The design and décor is simple and understated but has a wow factor for its beauty. A new place to love on Cherokee.

A few weeks ago there were two major things missing on Cherokee St., a microbrewery and a comic book store. We finally got our brewery, and it is fantastic. Earthbound Brewing recently opened their doors, but is still awaiting their brewers permit. For now they are sampling their own brews but selling full pours of other great local beers. We got to try the pecan hickory stout and a red ale, both were great. All three owners were there chatting and hanging out with the patrons. Not only is the beer great and the people friendly, the interior is very cool. They made nearly everything in the pub, including the coolers. The tables, stools, and bar top are made from local wood. Earthbound is located right next to Melt and allows you to bring you own food. They hope to have all the paperwork to start serving their own brews by the end of the year. Once that happens, you’ll have 6 of their beers on tap and 2 guest beers from one of the many local breweries in the area.

Maybe the tiniest brewery in St. Louis just opened! The pecan hickory stout was really delicious… and they are next door to Melt, so basically you have yourself a perfect little date right there. :)
